Update on iryo’s integration into the Pass Network

iryo's integration in our Pass Network is delayed due to an unexpected technical issue. We are working with iryo to complete the necessary preparations and are optimistic that travellers will be able to board iryo trains with an Interrail or Eurail Pass in the near future. We appreciate your patience and will continue to provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.

We’re excited to announce that, Spain’s first private high-speed train operator, will be joining the Pass network! With iryo, you’ll be able to explore even more of Spain, with increased flexibility and convenience.

Great that this is now possible! 😍
Will it be possible to book reservations for trips in May with the IRY from Barcelona to Madrid before the beginning of April? Or can reservations for a trip, for example, on April 1st, only be made on April 1st?

Based on this post and the app message, I indeed expect reservations to only be available from April 1st for travel from April 1st. If you want to ensure you get to Madrid, there are plenty of Renfe trains on that route, though for a trip in May waiting until April 1st should be okay.

Wasn't Iryo supposed to be bookable starting from April 1st? The app still shows "Not yet in pass network" and the Interrail website shows "Not available from Interrail.eu. This seat reservation can’t be booked on our website. Check 'More information' for other ways to book".

So what's the deal? I thought they were supposed to be bookable by now 🤨

Indeed, it was supposed to happen on 1 April, but as posted in the first post above, there's some sort of technical delay.

Nothing to do but wait, unfortunately.
