⚠️ Rail strike in Belgium: 14–15 and 21–22 AprilDisruption

Two nationwide rail strikes have been announced in Belgium that may result in limited rail services across the network. The two strike periods are scheduled between Monday, 14 April from 10 PM CET until the end of the day on Tuesday, 15 April, and Monday, 21 April from 10 PM CET until the end of the day on Tuesday, 22 April. Alternative train services may be operational depending on the SNCB staff availability. We recommend checking the SNCB timetable shortly before departing for your planned rail journey for up-to-date train times. For more information about the strike, please read the strike announcement on the SNCB website. Delay compensation: Interrail travellers with an activated travel day for any of the affected dates can request compensation here.

⚠️ Construction works on Oslo to Gothenburg, Sweden, train route from Apr to Oct 2025Train Disruptions

Planned maintenance works in Sweden will impact the railway line between Gothenburg to Oslo, which will be under construction for several periods between April and October 2025. During most of these construction works, no alternative transport is arranged and a longer route via Kil or Hallsberg is advised for travellers. Please note that the alternative transport VY Bus4You 600 on this route is not valid for Eurail/Interrail Pass holders, so full-fare tickets apply. For up-to-date train times, please take a look at our timetable or the planner in our Rail Planner app, Entur's timetable or VY traffic updates. You can find more information about train schedules approximately one month before the work starts on the VY traffic updates website. ⚠️Dombås - Vinstra line closure due to damage from floodTravel Disruptions

Due to a damaged bridge that resulted from a flood, the Dovre railway is partially closed between Dombås and Vinstra. According to Bane NOR, it is difficult to estimate when the repair work will be completed. SJ Norge has canceled night trains between Oslo and Trondheim, as well as two daytime departures. During the day, buses will replace trains between Dombås and Vinstra/Ringebu, and trains will run for the remainder of the route. Note: train departure times between Trondheim and Dombås have been altered. For up-to-date information, please check Entur.

⚠️ Construction works at Sofia Central, Bulgaria till Aug 2025Train Disruption

BDZ, the Bulgarian national railway company, has announced that construction works at Sofia Central will start from 7 May 2024 and are expected to last for 15 months until August 2025, impacting the flow of traffic through the station. You can expect the following changes in traffic movement at Sofia Central: For trains leaving/arriving at Sofia Sever, the BDZ have arranged special replacement trains which will do the transfer from Sofia Sever to Sofia Central. These trains will depart/arrive on platform 6, track 13. All trains coming from Northern Bulgaria will stop at Sofia Sever(North). Trams 1, 3, 7, and 27 will change their routes to accommodate traffic, with trams 27 and 3 continuing to Sofia Sever as their last stop. Bus line 413 will also continue to Sofia Sever. Timetables for Stena Line and Tallink Silja ferries have been added to the Rail Planner App. This update supports better planning for routes involving ferry travel in Northern Europe, including connections across the Baltic Sea and between key destinations in Scandinavia. Twice annually, the European Railway Carriers release an updated timetable. This refresh introduces exciting new connections, faster travel times, and modernized routes. Already dreaming up your 2025 travel plans? Here are the most thrilling changes to come in the next year: 1. A new carrier in Poland joins Eurail’s Pass Network The timetable change brings new routes for Eurail travelers to explore in Poland. The regional carrier Koleje Małopolskie of Lesser Poland Voivodeship (Małopolska), will be added to the Pass network. They run a vast network of regional trains connecting places such as Krakow, Tarnow, Oswiecim, and Zakopane. InnoTrans is renowned as the world’s biggest trade fair centered on the rail transport industry. Held every two years at the Messe Berlin exhibition centre , this year’s event took place from September 22 to 25, and we had the pleasure of attending. Here's a round-up of the exciting highlights from our visit. InnoTrans: Impressive Scale Our visit to Berlin was a fantastic opportunity for networking, learning about the latest industry developments, and reconnecting with familiar faces. We quickly realized the sheer scale of InnoTrans exceeded our expectations. With an impressive turnout of nearly 3,000 exhibitors from over 50 countries and around 170,000 visitors from 133 different countries, it really gave a great sense of just how complex and vibrant the industry is. ⚠️ Railway line closure in NorwayTrain Disruptions

A mishap on the Trondheim-Bodø railway line has resulted in some sections of this line being closed. All trains on this line have been impacted. Trains run between Trondheim and Mo i Rana, a replacement bus will run from Mo i Rana and Bodø. Night trains between Trondheim and Bodø have been cancelled for the time being. We recommend that you check the SJ Nord website or the Entur website for up-to-date train timetables and information about your travels on this line. We need your help To connect your existing community account with the Eurail account, the email address you used to create it must match the one you used for your Eurail/Interrail account. Therefore, we ask you to check and, if needed, update your e-mail address. I have a community account but no Eurail/Interrail account Please create a new Eurail/Interrail account. Next generation ÖBB Nightjet: travel between Vienna and Munich to Rome in comfort

In case you missed it: Sleeping overnight on a train just got cozier. You now have the chance to experience the “new generation Nightjet” on your way to Munich, Florence, and Rome and many other European destinations. Passenger comfort was a top priority when designing the new Nightjet, according to OBB. “The new generation Nightjet makes overnight travel even more pleasant for you, with modern design, more privacy and greater comfort,” its website reads . “With a speed of up to 230 km/h, the new trains take you to many European cities overnight in a climate-friendly way.” In a reimagination of overnight train travel, the new Night jet hopes to help you maximise sleep so you can arrive at your destination refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead.
