Strike action in Italy from Saturday, 25 January, 21:00 to Sunday, 26 January, 20:59 CET may lead to changes and cancellations in the train schedules across the country, even before the strike begins or ends. We hope that, like us, you all have had a special year on the rails. As the year winds down, we’re gearing up for one of our favorite moments of the year: the 2025 Timetable Update! Twice annually, the European Railway Carriers release an updated timetable. This refresh introduces exciting new connections, faster travel times, and modernized routes. Already dreaming up your 2025 travel plans? Here are the most thrilling changes to come in the next year:   1. A new carrier in Poland joins Eurail’s Pass Network The timetable change brings new routes for Eurail travelers to explore in Poland. The regional carrier Koleje Małopolskie of Lesser Poland Voivodeship (Małopolska), will be added to the Pass network. ⚠️ Railway line closure in NorwayTrain Disruptions

 A mishap on the Trondheim-Bodø railway line has resulted in some sections of this line being closed. All trains on this line have been impacted. Trains run between Trondheim and Mo i Rana, a replacement bus will run from Mo i Rana and Bodø. Night trains between Trondheim and Bodø have been cancelled for the time being.We recommend that you check the SJ Nord website or the Entur website for up-to-date train timetables and information about your travels on this line.Delay compensation: Interrail travelers with an activated travel day on any of the affected dates might request compensation here.

Strike action in Belgium will result in reduced train services from Sunday, 12 January to Monday, 13 January across the nation. Alternate train services will be set up depending on the staff availability and can be found, along with more information about the strike, on the SNCB strike announcement page.We recommend planning your rail journey accordingly and checking the Belgian train timetable shortly before departing for your planned journey. Alternatively, you could also see live train updates for Belgium in the Rail Planner app – just make sure that your app is updated to the latest version and you're connected to the internet.

Next generation ÖBB Nightjet: travel between Vienna and Munich to Rome in comfort

In case you missed it: Sleeping overnight on a train just got cozier. You now have the chance to experience the “new generation Nightjet” on your way to Munich, Florence, and Rome and many other European destinations. Passenger comfort was a top priority when designing the new Nightjet, according to OBB. “The new generation Nightjet makes overnight travel even more pleasant for you, with modern design, more privacy and greater comfort,” its website reads. “With a speed of up to 230 km/h, the new trains take you to many European cities overnight in a climate-friendly way.” In a reimagination of overnight train travel, the new Night jet hopes to help you maximise sleep so you can arrive at your destination refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead. There are a few different options for you to choose from, with the premium “sleeper car comfort plus” offering the chance to turn your cabin into a small hotel room, complete with a private toilet and shower. The “sleeper car comfort cabins

🎉 Gotthard Tunnel full re-opening soon

We are pleased to announce that the Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland on the route between Zurich to Milan is expected to be fully operational again from the 2nd of September, according to SBB (Swiss Federal Railways). This comes over a year after the unfortunate freight train derailment that affected services. As a result, the daily EC Frankfurt-Milan service will resume on the 2nd September, improving direct connections between Germany and Italy.We look forward to the full restoration of this critical transport link. Read SBB announcement, here

We are excited to announce that you can now book seat reservations for high-speed trains in Spain via our reservations service! Improved Pass benefits in SwitzerlandProduct update

We're excited to share an update to our Pass benefits. Starting June 1st, travellers in Switzerland no longer need to activate a travel day to use additional benefits or discounted products with the Pass. For an overview of all railway lines included in our Pass and Pass benefits in Switzerland, please visit this link. Tip: If a railway line or product is not part of our network but offers a discount, you will need an active pass, but not an activated travel day. However, if the railway line is included in our network, both an active pass and an activated travel day are required. For inspiration, hop over to our magazine and read the article "Chase Adventure: Switzerland by Train - Interlaken to the Jungfrau Region." We are currently experiencing an issue with our timetable in the Jungfrau region. The stretch from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen, which is included in the Pass, is incorrectly showing as not included. Please rest assured that it is included, and we are working on fixing our time
