Hi

I’m trying to book the train from Madrid to Barcelona but unable to do it on the website. I can book it via the renfe website but can’t see a way to use my Eurail pass. Is this journey included with my pass/ can I get a discount with the pass or do I have to buy a separate ticket?

For RENFE in Espana-can only be done whilst there at counter. ANY RENFE counter where-ever, not just those in Madrid.

Yes, pass is accepted-for the normal hourly AVE hi-speed trains - as there are now also competing lower cost others- and as these run hourly you will have a pretty good chance-with a tiny bit of flexibility-to get on. There will be much bigger problems as I guess you wont stay in Barcelona forever-the AVE trains that go over border are far harder- and also cost an awful lot more.
