Hi all, very glad to be part of this community!
Spent some time looking for answers, and this was very helpful!
A few things though that I would like help with.First though, some information about me/us
- First time Eurail users (to be confirmed if we buy one!)
- Mobile pass still not bought
- Whole family (including my elderly parents) will travel with us.
- The youngest of the group is 18
Here is our travel plans:
- From Montreal(Canada) to London(UK), arriving in London on Dec 17th 2022 (plane tickets already bought)
- From London to Amsterdam with Eurostar here.
- From Amsterdam to Hamburg on Dec 22nd
- From Hamburg to Stockholm on Dec 22nd too (night train with SJ, info here)
- From Stockholm to Copehhaguen on Dec 30th
- From Copenhaguen to Berlin on Jan 6th 2023
- From Berlin to Frankfurt on Jan 13th 2023
- From Frankfurt to Bruxels on Jan 15th 2023
- Plane back to Canada on Jan 20th 2023 (plane tickets already bought)
As you can see, it seems that 7 days of travel for a 1 month pass would work just fine, at 328 USD per adult.
Now here are our questions. :-)
a) Since our travel dates are mostly set in stone (meeting people at different places, with our plane tickets already bought, hotels booked in Stockholm and Copenhaguen...), I guess it will be better to reserve seats. With a 328 USD per adult, do you still think it will be worth it?
b) With all these seat reservations, including a night train (from Hamburg to Stockholm) where we would like to be in the same wagon, am I right to think that it will be more complicated to use a Eurail pass? Handling the activations, making reservations on the train operators site, creating the journeys in the app.... Especially since at some part of the trip we will be 7 in our group, each of us with a Mobile pass in our phone.
All tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!
