Please help me to select the best transport for the 1 month in December 23

I am traveling with my 17 year old son 7th - London to Paris anytime after 5pm 10th - Paris to London 17th - Vienna to Prague 20th - Prague to Berlin 25th - Berlin to Amsterdam 27th - Day trip to Brussles (and burges or that on another day, not sure what is practical) Depart Amstardam on 1st Jan. - nothing to be booked.  I am also looking for suggestions of modes of transport to purchase within the cities please.

Advice on planning London - San Sebastian way in advance with some schedule info missing

I am planning a trip in June. I have a global flexipass. I know that some train info is missing right now (mid February).The two legs I would like to plan are:London - Paris - San Sebastian all in one day on Weds June 5th.Bordeaux - Paris - London all in one day on Fri June 14th.I’d like to reserve the Eurostar tickets now. What has me confused is that I’ll be assuming I can make the rest of those journeys without knowing for sure (because the other schedules aren’t out yet).Can anyone tell me if those trips are common/easy/achievable? Or am I being ambitious? I want to avoid making Eurostar reservations now and then finding out closer to the time that I can’t make the rest of each of those trips work in one day.If anyone has experience / advice to share I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Unable to reserve seats Angouleme to Strasbourg

First time Interrail user here, so be patient!I'm trying to get from Angouleme to Strasbourg by TGV on 25th May, as part of a long journey to Salzburg in Austria. It seems that seat reservations are required but they are showing as unavailable. Looking at other posts on here, it seems that this isn't uncommon for TGVs, and the seats are likely to be released nearer the time. Being only 10 weeks or so away, I'm getting sweaty palms because it's my last day of pass validity and I need to get back to Salzburg that day.My originally planned travel option (from Angouleme to Paris Montparnasse) won't work, because the train I need to catch on that day is not available to pass holders. Any thoughts on whether the reservations will become available before I need to travel, or should I totally review my options? Thanks in advance for any advice.

How to check reservations for night train are available before I buy a Eurail pass?

We are a family of 7. We only plan to travel on 2-3 day trips from Paris (Chantilly one day, Amiens another), and then the over night train on July 10th from Paris to Nice. Tickets are 160 Euro per person for that over night train so I planned to buy a Eurail pass for all of us for the overnight train at least. Not sure if we need a 3 day pass or just a one day pass for the night train, as the other trips are quite short. But I read that seat reservations for the night trains are limited for Eurail pass holders - How can I work out if the overnight train has space for us before I buy the Eurail pass? I don’t want to buy a pass then find I can’t book the seats for the trip I have planned! Thanks for your help

Calais to Dover by ferry

Hello,I am finding the P&O website impossible to use. I want to cross the Channel on May 21. Directferries gives the time of the only departures available as 06:40 and 8:20, but my date and any other date I enter is labelled Sold out! This is clearly impossible, and so I am willing to arrive to Calais as early as I can by train from Lille, hoping to get a bus there from Calais Ville to the ferry port, or if necessary a taxi.Are there any later ferries? That would help.Is this doable? Thank you for your help,Brian.

CDG airport TGV to Colmar

Hi I’ve read the important info in this post: https://community.eurail.com/train-connections-reservations-47/how-to-get-reservations-105Train travels within France only  Travel date: May 11, 2024; flight land at 10:20am First train ride needed: CDG airport TGV to Colmar (have purchase 3 eurail passes - 6 days within 1 month)I understand that I can only purchase seat reservation 90 days in advance. so should be to purchase on Feb 11. Questions:On Deutsche Bahn, Trainline  & Rail Planner app, both show 16:52 -19:21 (1 TGV 9874 + 1 TER 96235). Yes I’ve read from the link above that I should not use Rail Planner to plan my trips.However on SNCF Connect app, it shows 2:59pm to 6:21pm (3h22min; TGV 9874 to Strasbourg; then TER 96233 to Colmar)Which schedule is correct? How could TGV 9874 be happening at 16:52/4:52pm (Deutsche Bahn, Trainline & Rail Planner apps) and also at 2:59pm (SNCF Connect app info)I’m guessing the SNCF Connect app is wrong. What are you advice on which apps or

Help Freiburg - Bruxels

Hi!I’m getting an error every time I reserve any ticket from Freiburg to Brussels on May 7th, tickets appear available in different options, I reserve my seats for both legs and when doing the payment it says it’s been a problem with the ticket and asks me to find another one. Is there anything I’m doing wrong? I had no problem with my other tickets. Thanks!

Pass reservation TGV Paris to Forbach / Saarbrücken

Hello,  I’d like to buy a pass reservation for a TGV train from Paris to Forbach. Unfortunately, for our train SNCF claims that all seats are booked. Strange to say that for the same train it’s possible to book seats from Paris to Saarbrücken, but not for the shorter trip to Forbach.However, this would change our trip to be an international trip and to consume a home country day of our pass in germany which we don’t have available. Would it work to get a pass reservation to Saarbrücken and use our pass only for the way to Forbach, so no home country day would be used? It’s even bad enough that reservation fee goes up from 10€ to 18€ due to this-

No seat available after buying seat reservation

Hiya, first time eurail user here. I reserved two seats from Paris to Lyon. The tickets showed a cart number and a seat number. However when we got on the train (which was very rushed as it was late and there was no staff to help) there was no cart number which matched the ticket. We hopped on one of the carts and tried to at least walk through and find our seat number but our seat didn’t exist (we were seats 113 and 114 and the numbers on the train went straight from 112 to 115. We ended up just sitting on the floor of the stairs. Any idea how this happened?? As I was under the impression buying a seat reservation guaranteed you a seat on the train. Thanks!!Emily

Travelling during strikes/refunds

Hi folks- Probably a common thread at the moment, but I am travelling next wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th through France. Im meant to be heading into Paris on the Eurostar at 16:22 getting in at 19:57 on wednesday 5th,and Im then meant to be heading on the high speed train from Paris Gare du Lyon to Zurich on Thursday at 07:15. Is it possible to predict whether these routes will be affected? If not and it ends up being wiser to get alternative transport through France, can I get refund on the reservation costs of these journeys? If so, how do i go about doing that? Thanks in advance. Peter

Öresund trains

How to add Öresund trains to my pass since they do not show in the rail planner please? I want to travel from Copenhagen to Goteborg and to Oslo. I cannot find them in the rail planner. I understood I do not need a reservation. Thanks.

Dutch trajectory with NS Flex Dal Vrij

I thought I figured it all out… I am travelling with my Interrail Global Pass (mobile) for the first time. My first journey is from Amsterdam to Frankfurt, with ICE 123. In the Netherlands, I have a NS Flex Dal Vrij subscription, which should allow me to travel for free on the Dutch part of the trajectory. I read everything I could find about this, on this forum and on the NS website. So what I did: I added a trip to my pass, manually added a journey to my trip with the ICE 123, starting at Emmerich(Gr), ending in Frankfurt. I brought my NS card but did not check in in Amsterdam. This is how I understand I should do this.However, the NS personnel on the train made me pay a ticket from Amsterdam to Emmerich(Gr), maintaining that I could only travel on my NS Flex subscription without checking in if I had a ticket from Amsterdam to the border station as well. This cost me 61 Euro (1st class). They did not give me a 50 euro fine.Were they right? If so, how could I do this in the future, wi

Flexi mobile pass

Hi, I am planning using a flexi mobile pass (10 days within 2 months) and reading the FAQs I am getting confused. From the instructions I understand that I must link a trip to my pass in order to be able to activate the pass starting from X date. But I have also read that the trip I link to my pass cannot be changed once the pass is activated. So, I am wondering how my flexi pass remains then flexible.Is it because even tough I cannot change the trip linked to my pass, I do can add, remove, change journeys and cancel travel days (until the day before) to the trip linked to my pass? Do I understand right?And if this is the case … would you recommend me linking a trip to my pass with all journeys planned on all 10 days or rather link a trip to my pass with only the first journeys on my first travel date and then, as I travel, add journey by journey (meaning travel date by travel date) to the trip linked to the pass? I guess the answer partly depends on whether travel days are automatical

End of line in Germany - kicked off at Koln Hbf

Hello, Our journey in the app and on our pass was from Amsterdam Centraal to Mainz Hbf. Our first train showed it taking us to Frankfurt where we'd have to transfer for the last leg of our journey. However, we got to Koln Hbf and were told it was the end of the line. There was a group behind us that were also under the impression that we could stay on. They asked the worker and he said we have to get off, we have to listen to the announcements, and yelled at all of us for missing the 3 announcements telling us to get off. He said to go to platform 10. We rushed over there but there was no departing train that matched anything in our app. We looked for trains heading to Frankfurt or Mainz and there was only one and it was not on platform 10. It had already departed by the time we found it. We looked at 3 different information boards and a separate app for train travel and we could not find the original information we had in the rail planner. Need to get to Chamonix and all routes are taking me through Switzerland. Is this covered on my France eurail pass? If not, do I just need to buy a ticket for the portions of the trip that aren’t covered?

Seat Reservation in Italy

Hi, I've been trying for days to book a seat for a train from trieste to lubiana but unfortunately from interrail.eu for days now it doesn't give me any availability, even changing train day and time. It seems as if the site is no longer enabled to make reservations for trains in italy. Has anyone had the same problem? do you know how I can pranotare on another site? ItaliaRail doesn't because it only provides trains in italy and I'm supposed to get from trieste to lubiana, while obb only provides trips with more than one day.

I am new to this game and I don’t even know what tags are. I have bought a five day pass and I want to travel to Brindisi in Italy in February I would like to take two days in daylight to see the scenery and one week later the same coming back. I hope to travel from Swansea in South Wales. Is this possible. I am on the verge of starting to get old 80 but I am determined to make it. I think it will be easier for me to book the individual trains at the stations. Does anyone think this is possible.? You have my kind regards, David shaw.

Lost Journeys in app

I added all my journeys into the app in My Trip a couple of weeks ago. When I went to check today all the journeys had disappeared? So frustrating and not sure how to retrieve them without adding them all again. Any ideas???Also when I look at the trains for Switzerland they are all coming up as “Not in Pass network”??? I have checked the app version and it updated 3 days ago. Does this mean I can no longer use the pass in Switzerland. Leaving in a few days and this is stressing me out.

No train connection between Athens - Patras ?

Hi:) I’m travelling from Athen to Bari by train and ferry in June. My ferry departs from Patras to Bari and so i searched for train/bus connections from athen to patras. i found out that there is no direct train connections due to constructions, but that i can take a train from athen to kiato and there change into a bus that replaces the train until patras. but i can’t find any sort of timetable for the trains and busses, i looked in the interrail app, the trainose website and the hellenic train websites: they all say that there is no connection available on the selected date. i travel on june 8th but i also tried different dates to verify if there’s a connection at all and it just doesn’ show...is it too early to book the train and the timetables are not up yet? or is there just no connection at all at the moment, or there is but it’s just not on the website yet? i’m really confused snd a bit stressed as i need to book the ferry asap and need to know if i even can travel from athens t
