Amsterdam - ljubljana nighjet, but 2 traveldays

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hi,

I’ll take the nightjet to Wels Hbf and in the morning I have to change trains to Salzburg around 7.30 in the morning. This takes 2 traveldays, while I thought it would be seen as one.

If so, how can I change this? Thanks for your help.

That is correct if you wanna go in one travelday from Netherlands to Ljubljana you better catch daytrains to Zürich or Munich and catch there the Nighttrains to Ljubljana :) As this will be then one travelday :)

as you change trains after midnight at 7.30 am you need a new travelday :)
The Rule says you need a active travelday when you board a train :)
So you can catch for example the 20.40 Nighttrain Milano - Sicily with arrival time at 16.30 the next day with just one travelday :) I managed thatway all the way from Berlin to Sicily with just one travelday.

00.40 Berlin - Frankfurt 06.40
08.05 Frankfurt - Milan - 16,00
and finally at 20.40 Milan - Palermo 16.50 the next day.

Seewulf, travelling by Nighttrain to Palermo/Siracusa will be cheaper if you buy a Super-Economy. A Single-Cabin costs € 118 with InterrailPass use and just € 84,90 if you buy the Super-Economy. You only have the disavantace that you can't cancel the ticket, but Trenitalia offers a insurance for about 5-6 Euro with the possibility to cancel in cases like sickness (and others).
