To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
I am new with Eurail Global Pass and the APP. I plan to take train from Genoa to Chamonix and I have to change train at Milan Centrale, Visp, Martigny, and Vallorcrine. When I use APP to add my trip, do I have to add each segment (like Genoa to Milan) as one trip? and check reservation requirement and buy seat for each segment separately? thanks
I booked all our Euro Rail tickets through Euro rail, I got a notification that the one we had booked from Salzburg to Venice has changed, but there is no where on my existing tickets to be able to change it. Do they automatically put you on the next best one? It doesn’t seem that they assigned us to another train or bus. I’ve send some messages and hope to hear back. But if I go out to rebook, it costs me.
Gracias.Un saludo,Eugene
Hi travel-lads,Interrail would have started a pilot with using more inbound/outbound days on the app.My question ara:1: Does this pilot still work?2: Which Country-residents are entitled for this pilot?3: How many travel-days would be given?4: Could the extra In-/outbound days use for more come-backs to your home-country, of are they only apllicable for an inbound-Outbound day with stop-over nights between such trips?
I have (already) bought a Eurail Global Pass (coming first time to Europe with spouse). Budget is my BIG concern & I want to take full benefit of this pass (for cheap travel wherever possible).I am concerned about traveling to (& within Italy) on this Pass. The major routes that I want to travel (on different days) using this pass include; I want to avoid seat reservations where ever possible and I welcome all any advice.Lucerne to Milan (Dec 23rd) - I’d like to visit nearby attractions like Lake Como on Dec 24th. Milan to Florence (Dec 25th) - Maybe visit Pisa/Cinque Terre on Dec 26th Florence to Naples (Dec 27th) - I know time’s a concern and if I could, I’d love to see Amalfi coat or any other southern towns Naples to Rome (Dec 28th) - I’m in Rome for 3 days before I fly back on 31st Dec.So my questions are:I need help/guidance to find a cheap/free train from the above locations (or some nearby location) till Rome while utilizing Eurail Global Pass. Suggestions if I can add
Hi there, My name is Tom and i’m thinking about interrailing next Spring. I just wondered what people’s idea is on hostels? Should i book these in advance for each city?My route will be London-Amsterdam-Prague-Vienna-Rome-Paris-London.I thought it would be a good idea to book the hostel in Amsterdam, but then i might decide to spend an extra day in Prague. If i do it would change my plan, not the end of the world but not great.Or would it be easier to pay for them whilst i am on the trip? If i do a bit of planning before i go i can work out where to stay.Any opinions?Tom
Hello everyone, I'm new to Interrail. I only took one ride from Cologne to Vienna at night with my school class so far. And one time to Amsterdam for travel. The other times I just drove from work to home...Now I want to go on my own, and I'm wondering how long is your perfect train ride?I thought that I would prefer to go 5 maybe 7 hours maximum, when I don't take a night train. My first idea is Denmark, Sweden and maybe Norway. I'm now playing with the rail planner app and try to choose routes…What is your experience? What is a comfortable travel time for you? Thanks and best wishes,Polkadot
Hi, I booked my return trip, but the day on the pass says today whereas I will be travelling tomorrow. Very strange, as I added it at 4pm with a departure time for 10.30am. I tried to cancel it immediately, but not possible. I contacted interrail via FB messenger and email, but it will take 4 days to get a reply... Anyone having an idea on how to solve this?
Hello guys, my girlfriend and I are currently traveling in Europe with the Interrail pass. Now we want to book our return trip from Biarritz to Amsterfam, because this trip goes via Paris and it is necessary to book in advance. However, we do not know how to do this. Through the app it does not work and through the reservation service does not work either. Could you guys help us with this? It concerns the train from Biarritz to Amsterdam on 7 August, departure 7:53. I would like to hear from you. Regards Nick Rosmolen

Hello, I’m trying to reserve seats on the Barcelona-Sants to Paris leg of my Madrid-Paris trip (I know for the first leg I have to reserve seats in person at a Spanish station). On the Eurail website I try to use the reservation service, but it says the departure date is too close for the paper reservation tickets to be delivered to me at my home. It also says it’s too close to departure for the tickets to be delivered to my hotel in Madrid. Unfortunately, I am not yet in Madrid to reserve the tickets in person, nor will I arrive until the night before departure. What options are available other than testing my luck at 5pm at the Madrid train station before a 10am departure the next day? It makes me nervous since the website says TGV limits eurail pass holders per train. I want to make sure we’re able to get to our destination. Any advice?
I started travelling today with the interrail mobile app. Although I managed to get it all up and running for the first two legs of the trip, I am having critical issues with the app right now. The problem is that the rail planner does not work anymore: each time I select a departure or destination, the planner resets again so it is impossible to add a new leg to my trip. The FAQ states that it is also possible to add journeys manually, but this option seems to be missing in the app I have (version 19.0.0 om android 10). So in essence it is downright impossible to add any journeys to my pass and thus to get a valid ticket, so I cannot travel any further. How can this be fixed?I also contacted the support via email, but they say they will only answer within 7 days, which I think is pretty long if you are stranded with an app that is not working.
If you travel 1st class (also interrail), you can choose your seat on the TGV, normally.Due to the fact that SNCF no longer makes it possible to book domestic train journeys online in France for Interrail, I (temporarily? ) have the following question:If you contact the call center of SNCB INTERNATIONAL in Belgium, 0.30 euros/min(!) , would they also be able to book the desired seat or not?I think I've done it once, but it took a lot of effort.
The Caledonian Sleeper site is contradicting my understanding of night trains and Eurail passes. They write:“Britrail / Inter-Rail / Eurail / FIP Coupons will need to be valid on the date you arrive in your destination but not necessarily on the date you join the train for departures before midnight.”Now, I understand why that might be the case for the trains that depart Edinburgh or Glasgow just before midnight: it’s after midnight CET, and maybe the app logs it in CET time. But I want to use my pass one morning to go from Glasgow to Fort William, explore, then get on the 19:50 departure to London, which arrives around 7am.Can anybody advise?
My moblie pass is valid on the travel day (it is shown on my phone), but the barcode scanned by the ticket inspector says the pass only valid for the next day. Why is this? This happens three times in Switzerland since yesterday. Before yesterday, the pass works fine.
Good evening! This is my current issue: 5 friends of mine and I have booked our Interrail passes within 3 different orders. Now we're having difficulties at booking for our train seats. We've already duplicated the trip in order to join and book altogether but when it comes to the actual booking action (selecting the trains for 6 people ect) it claims to be unavailable. When I book for me and other 3 friends (we've bought our Interrail passes within the same order) it is possible to do that. How can we solve it?
For the Brussels - Vienna direct connection. Is there always a discount if you book together with an Interrail pass?Because if I check a few dates on the OBB website, and look with and without an interrail pass, the price doesn't change at all.If I understand the prices correctly via the following link: https://www.nightjet.com/nl/buchung/tarifinformationen/interrail-eurail-paesse, then I arrive at a reservation price of 14 + 144 + 20 euros = 178 euros. But I see a lot of prices of 229.90 euros for a single deluxe sleeper cabin.Who can give me more information about this?Thank you!
Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me. Together with 2 other students we're trying to reserve seats for our trip to Luzern. The seat resevations from FRANKFURT to MULHOUSE are required, but I'm not able to add them to my cart. When I click the 'Zo kun je deze verbinding boeken’ button and fill in the details on bahn.de, this is the result:The current trip is on the 15th of August, leavin Amsterdam at 9:07 AM and arriving in Luzern at 7:05 PM.Can someone please help, we're totally unsure of what to do. Should we wait, arrange a different trip or…? Thanks in regards,Niels
