Hi, I’m Richard — a jazz accordionist, performance artist, and sometime immersive theatre-maker based in Brighton, UK. I’m also a bit of a train obsessive, but not in the usual way. I recently took a slow and winding Interrail journey from Brighton to Istanbul with my wife — not just for the adventure, but as part of a larger project. I’m developing a musical performance piece that began life as a parody of the Gatwick Express, but ended up becoming a reflection on the changing nature of Europe. If that sounds confusing, well… so was the trip. But that’s partly the point.
