The One Country Pass is only valid for travel within a country. Your pass needs to be valid in all countries the train travels through, so you'll need a Global Pass for this route. (or buy a separate ticket if this is your only international train)
What do you mean? Serbia is open to all travellers, I only think you'll need a PCR test. There are no trains from Budapest to Belgrade. Zagreb to Belgrade currently has one direct train per day running. Trains between Montenegro and Serbia are back again, with the night train as well as the daytime train.
Yes, the route via Vigo means to stay overnight in Vigo or (if the evening Intercity Vigo - Porto resumes) in Porto.There is one daytime connection per day, with a change of trains in Cáceres/Puertollano, Badajoz and Entroncamento. The first two trains require a reservation, which can be obtained at the train station in Madrid. (I don't think this connection ever becomes fully booked)tip: if you need to travel to Madrid Atocha station, you can use your Interrail Pass on the Cercanías (suburban trains) as well. Hi Violette! Have you tried removing some connections from “My Pass"? It might be that the app has already calculated how many days you have left, but that you have not used them. As far as I know, as long as the connections are not in the past this won't give any problems. You can see in the map view that the connection has become dark blue instead of light blue. If not, try removing them.What I do is to have two different trips: one for looking up travel times and saving connections, and one for the trains I actually take. This way I keep My Trip tidy and clean.
Yes, any train or ferry with a discount means you won't need a travel day. It saves you one to get even more out of your Interrail Pass! The only requirement is that it falls within the validity of your Pass, but I'm sure that won't be a problem for you.

With two months you really have a time to visit a lot of places. I would consider checking out Romania if you have the time. What I have found in my research for my trip this year, here are my two cents:Poland: Kraków (one of the most beautiful cities of Europe, and former capital of Poland, also convenient for visiting Oswiecim), Wroclaw, Gdansk (a city of the Hanseatic Trade), Zakopane (to visit the mountains) Slovakia: Bratislava, Poprad (for the High Tatra mountains), Kosice Hungary: Budapest (a not to miss city) Romania: Bucharest (nicknamed “Little Paris”), Transylvania region (highlights include Sighisoara, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu; the region is known for birthplace of Dracula, and it has a lot of castles)About the duration of your stays, it really depends: how big is the city, how much is there to see, perhaps you want to do daytrips (like Oswiecim or Tatra Mountains) consider staying longer.Have fun planning!
A few weeks is more than enough time. I ordered mine last month and received it in 5 days. (delivery to the Netherlands, it is shipped from Ireland) It might take a bit longer currently because of higher demand, but 7-10 days is the maximum I reckon.
Yes, which means you also need to update your schedule in your rail planner app. This way everything is still filled in correctly. It applies to both trains with and without a reservation. If you change your reservation at a ticket desk, it's usually free of charge if it's beyond your fault.And in case you're short on time, you can also just go to the train conductor and ask if there are free places available (if you had a reservation for an earlier train) It happened to me once when I was in Paris, there was a fire and the queue for the ticket offices were at least an hour, so I asked the train conductor of the Thalys for free places.

What I usually do is either take the Thalys for €25 Amsterdam to Paris, or I take the TGV for €10 Lille to Paris and travel to Lille by reservation-free intercity trains. From Amsterdam to Spain is doable in one day, I've done this twice, both to San Sebastián. If you take the early Thalys you'll arrive in San Sebastián around 7 pm. You will need a reservation for Thalys and TGV, total €35. From Hendaye to San Sebastián is done by Euskotren, which is not covered by Interrail but very cheap. Both San Sebastián and Bilbao are interesting places to visit. Between San Sebastián and Bilbao you travel with Euskotren as well. It's quite cheap and it saves you a travel day. You could then take a direct train to Barcelona, reservation €6,50. From Barcelona back into France, I'd recommend the route via Cerbère which takes longer but saves an expensive reservation.Since for reservations the distance doesn't matter, consider thaking a long train route. For example, from Lille there are direct TGV'
It totally depends on the timetables, Carcasonne has relatively frequent connections. You might wanna consider taking the night train to Paris from Carcasonne. This way you will have more time to explore this beautiful city. Carcasonne to Paris is a long journey and I don't think you would have time to explore otherwise.It's also possible to travel Barcelona - Carcasonne without reservations, but this route takes about 7 hours instead of 3,5 hours.
The QR Code for Netherlands on the paperpasses covers was a 3months QR Code (longest validity of Interrailpasses) within these 3 months you could enter dutch stations as much you like. :) even if you had pass with shorter validity I didn't know that! I knew it only was a code to open the gates, but I didn't know it had some information about the validity of the pass in it. Cool!
Hi Alizee, if you want to change your pass, you will need to cancel it and buy a new one. However, an Interrail pass with 8 travel days doesn't exist. Another possibility is to check which journey is the cheapest and buy a separate ticket for this specific journey.
Hi Clare! In the Eurail app, you go to the "My Trip" section. There you click the + button and then select "Connect a Pass to this trip". You have now connected a trip to your pass. Next, plan your trains in the "Planner" section. When you have found your desired connection, then select "Save journey" and select the trip you had just created. Do this every time you ride new trains, and you're good to go! You can find your digital pass in the "My Pass" section.

Ik ga in ieder geval met de nachttrein naar Wenen, de rest is nog open. Mijn plan is eerst naar Roemenië (Transsylvanië), daarna Budapest en dan via de Hoge Tatra naar Polen. De precieze invulling is een beetje afhankelijk van de reisbeperkingen en van mijn mood. De totale reis duurt ongeveer 2½-3 weken.Plaatsen die ik van plan ben (eventueel) te bezoeken: Wenen, Budapest, Cluj-Napoca, Sighisoara, Sibiu, Brasov, Kosice, Hoge Tatra, Zakopane, Krakau, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Bratislava. Al kom ik waarschijnlijk niet aan alle bestemmingen toe.Laat maar weten als je nog ideeën nodig hebt!
Hi Emilie, great to hear you want to embark on an adventure! Well, what you can do is totally up to you of course. However, I can say that anything you choose will give you a different experience, and whatever you choose you will always find like-minded people along the way.I usually travel solo and went on my first trip when I was your age. My trip lasted for 10 days, so I could get a feel of what it's like. So perhaps take it small and see if it's something you enjoy? I also did a workaction at a campsite a couple of years ago. This requires a bit more planning, because you have to apply for a job and arrange the journey, etc. There are of course many things you can do, paid and unpaid. It's something that I'd like to do again in the future in a different position.And remember, there's always a next year and the year after if you want to do multiple things.Cheers, Mattheas
Thanks for the (more) clarity. I travel to/from the Netherlands a lot, which notoriously to be one of few, if not the only country to have electronic gates at all main stations. I still find another grey area, Dutch border stations, like Enschede, have separate platforms for domestic and cross-border trains. The domestic platforms have electronic gates, while the cross-boder one, operated by German/Belgian operators, do not. My follow up question is: If somebody living in Netherlands travels from Netherlands to Germany, via Enschede, does the act of checking out from domestic platform at the gate and going in the German train accidentally count as travelling domestically? I can tell from experience that this is not a problem. You can go outside the station, get some lunch, and then check back in. And the specific border-train question, as long as you don't cross the border, it's not a problem. You can use the whole outbound travel day to travel within your own country (for ex. Groning
The inbound and outbound journey apply for the whole travel day, not specific trains. Therefore, on your outbound journey you can take as many trains within your country as you residence as like you until you've reached a border or a port. Examples where you can use your outbound journey:Travel day 1, Brighton (UK) - Paris | Brighton - London ; London - Paris Travel day 1, Groningen (NL) - Paris | Groningen - Zwolle ; Zwolle - Rotterdam ; Rotterdam - Paris Travel day 1, Rotterdam (NL) - Paris | Rotterdam - Breda ; Breda - Brussels ; Brussels - ParisTo make it easier to understand: it's a fancy way of saying you may use 2 of your travel days to travel withing your country of residence. Bonjour Julie!With optional reservations the only risk you have is that there is no seat left when the train is full. This usually only happens when there is a high demand in Germany, for example during weekend or on holidays. However, you can still travel with this train without a reservation. I reckon it's because the distance is very short and therefore a loose ticket is quite inexpensive. You can either buy a loose ticket or choose a reservation-free alternative. There are frequent regional trains between Venice and Verona, which only take slightly longer. Choose “No reservation needed” in the rail planner app. (As a general rule, I only take reservation on long routes, for example Venice to Rome.)Hope this helps!

Hoi Derk! De grens tussen Polen en Slowakije is niet dicht, maar volgens mij heeft Slowakije tot 1 juli nog wel (relatief) strenge inreisbeperkingen. De reden dat je een omweg krijgt is simpel: er zijn weinig tot geen treinen tussen Polen en Slowakije. Er zijn eigenlijk twee (bruikbare) opties:Reis via de omweg zoals aangegeven in de planner, dus via Bohumin, Tsjechië. Reis via Zakopane: regionale trein Krakau - Zakopane, lokale bus tot de Slowaakse grens bij Łysa Polana, dan lokale bus naar Tatranska Lomnica. Soms is er ook een directe bus van Zakopane naar Tatranská Lomnica. Vanaf daar gaan relatief frequente treinen naar Starý Smokovec. Lokale bussen zitten uiteraard niet in de Interrail pas inbegrepen.De tweede optie geeft je ook de mogelijkheid om Zakopane en de Poolse zijde van de Hoge Tatra te bezoeken, en je gaat zelfs dwars door de Hoge Tatra heen! (noot: hoe de dienstregeling van de bussen tussen Zakopane en Slowakije momenteel is, is mij niet bekend. Ik ga er vanuit dat deze
