Hi all,We would like to use your help. In three weeks we will go to Spain and Portugal by Interrail. Now I read that the reservations cannot be made online or via the reservation system. If this is correct, there are a number of options left. One of these is reserving tickets at the train stations. Now I have a few questions about that:1. When we arrive in Madrid, can I immediately book the tickets there for our train journeys to Malaga and Seville?2. When we arrive in Faro, can I immediately book the tickets there for our train journeys to Lisbon and Porto?3. What are the costs for these reservations? Is this extra compared to the Interrail pass? If so, how much?We would be very helpful if you could help us with these questions. We are very curious so would like to hear from you!
Hey everyone, I’m planing a journey through italy by the end of the month and my highlight was supposed to be a trip from Naples to Palermo and back to Rome. My plan was to take a night train to Messina (INI36067) and continue from there with a regional. Now the price in the booking tool of interrail is 97€(!), because I can only take the c4 comfort wagon. In the normal route planner tool it says if I take a normal seat it’s only 3€. I obviously just need a seat, how do I get that? In the FAQs on the interrail website is written I’m supposed to book it on the italian website, but there I can only see the option to buy a ticket for 85€.Does anyone have experiences with trenitalia.com and can help me out? Any help is much apreciated. Kind regards, Mo
Hello everyone, My departure day arrive soon and I didn't receive yet my outbound paper ticket. The plan is to leave Montpellier the 5th of November for Barcelona then Valencia. On the tracking platform I see that there is a problem with the delivery but I don't have details. I send an email to interrail but no response yet. Do you know if I can go to the Montpellier train station and ask for my ticket and what would happen if I can't? 👋🙂Romain
Hello there!I’m planning on going to Prague in the beginning of November and I would like some help with getting my trip sorted out. I’ve found the trains i’m going to travel with but some of them say ‘’Additional reservation needed’’ and I don’t know how that works, I don’t really get the support page where they explain it.So the travel plan looks like this right now: Gothenburg C - Malmö C with what I think is the öresundståg, the train name is RE 1105.Then from Malmö C - Berlin Hbf with Snalltaget I believe. From Berlin Hbf - Prague-holesovice with a train called EC 173.It tells me that I need Seat reservation at the train between Malmö and Berlin but how do I do that? Then going back from Prague it’s the same part that I need reservation on again.https://i.imgur.com/SQqVI8P.jpeg Thanks in advance! :)Lucas
Hello everybody,We would like to travel from Brussels to Sofia (Bulgaria), the trip is 1 day 20 hours and 20 minutes. And during the trip we are crossing Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria (before Sofia). My question is : how is it count in travel days ? Does it count as 1 as we go from point A to point B (even with changes) ? does it count as 2 as we have more than 24 hours of travel ? or does it count as 5 as we have 4 changes to arrive ? Hope this is clear :) Thank you
I am trying to find a way to book seats on the TGV trains between Luxembourg to Paris and Paris to Frankfurt online with the ability to use my Interrail cover number. I can't find any retailer that let me do this, except maybe the Interrail planner app reservation function. Since I bought my pass from a Swedish retailer I am not able to use the app for reservations… Is there any other site I can possibly use? I guess the only other option I have is to book these trains separately and pay full price :(Since this is my first time traveling with trains outside Sweden I’m not familiar with booking train tickets at stations, but do you think that there will be any seats left if I book these seats like 2 days ahead in Paris when I get there at the ticket office? Or is the pressure on tickets too high on the high speed trains to be able to get any in such a short time ahead? I rather not be stuck in Paris :)
Hello Community. In to days i will travel from Berlin to geneve with a train change in Olten. We’re trying to travel from newcastle uk to figures vilafante spain, and need to make seat reservations. We have successfully done so for eurostar, but the french connection requires sending paper tickets and there is insufficient time. We can’t have our tickets sent to a hotel in France as we’re doing the trip in one day and not staying at a hotel.Does anyone know how we can make a seat reservation and pick up from a ticket machine or station?I know we could risk it and try and make a seat reservation when we arrive at the station in France, but I want to book it in advance, and pick up the paper ticket for the reservation when we arrive. Also, we’ve tried calling SNCF and they weren’t helpful or clear about how to proceed.
Hello,I want to go from the Netherlands to Copenhagen, but in this case this will cost me an Outbound/Inbound ticket, since I am from Germany and there is no other way, than through Germany, to get to Denmark. Can I additionally purchase an Outbound/Inbound ticket or are there any other possibilities? Can one here help me with this issue? GreetingsIsabelle
Hello the community, to make the journey Villach - Venice with my interrail, a reservation of siege was required. So I paid 2 € on the interrail booking site and when I was at the counter asking a question and the person made me paid 10 € extra for the reservation. She told me it was necessary but the reservation of 2 € siege on the interrail site is not supposed to be enough with the Interrail Pass? So finally, I have my Interrail pass + a seat reservation ticket + an other extra ticket of 10€, it's normal?
Hi!Since October 6th, it is possible to book trains in France for the Christmas period (source: https://www.oui.sncf/aide/l-ouverture-des-ventes). Yet, it seems that I can’t book seat reservations for after December 11th on the Interrail site.Anybody knows when reservations will be open? Thank you!
Hello, I would like to reserve a seat on the train from VILLACH HBF (AUSTRIA) - RIJEKA (CROATIA) for the 18th of September, departure time 04:20 AM. (travel time = 5h and 7m) Now the problem has occured that I can find this journey in the railway planner, but it doesn’t show up at the seat reservation sector. How am I able to reserve a seat on that train?
Once upon a time with an Interrail Pass one just entered where one was going and got on board. Total flexibility. But now everything is digital and limited and needs to be booked ahead and printed out….. I have bought a pass and wish to reserve a place from Brussels to Valence, from there to Barcelona, from there to Madrid. But despite going to the web page for ‘Book reservations’ I only get a red blob telling me that no Trips are entered; I have created a Trip entry but this repeats. The ‘timetable’ I fill in with date and time of planned journey does not then go dark to allow one to press a ‘Search’ or anything similar, just brings me back in a continuous loop to where I already was. This is frustrating. I see from other people’s comments that they, too, have difficulties with making a reservation. What should one do?
Hello Interrail-Team,my girlfriend and me travelled with an Interrail Global Pass this summer. We are from Germany and travelled through France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. We faced some minor and one major issue:1. Both of our smartphones were not able to make a reservation of a ticket.A direct reservation via the app is not possible at all.The app redirects us to your website, where at one point the reservation tool just stops working. Therefore, we had to go to the train station each time we made a reservation.2. We tried to travel from France to Italy via Ventimiglia by 2 intercity trains. We couldnt book the intercity train starting from Ventimiglia to Italy back when we were in France because of Issue No.1.When we tried to book the train in Ventimiglia it was already full, so we had to stay there longer than expected.3. We both updated the app to the latest version including the train timetable.Still, there were different departure times for lots of intercity and regional trains.Pl
Hi all,My friends and I would like to reserve seats for multiple trains together. I've tried adding them to my trip but when I do so I get an error message (see below). I've emailed customer service but so far without any response. Anybody has any idea how to fix this? I've seen several question on this topic, perhaps @Nanja could help? Thanks! Charlotte
Hello, so I am trying to book a reservation from Nice to Paris on November 6. The eurail booking website doesn’t have any and when I go to the station, they said that they only have 1st class available for reservations, no second class. But when i check the SNCF booking website, the train is not sold out, there are still tickets there for sale. Does this just mean that the Eurail seats are sold out, like is there a maximum number of seats Eurail can reserve?
I am travelling through six countries starting in two weeks time. Some of my journeys require seat reservations which I have been unable to make, either through Eurail or OBB (train operator). I started trying to reserve them a month ago and haven’t had any response from OBB Customer Support. Does this mean I won’t be able to travel these routes? What other options do I have? Some of these are the second leg of a longer journey so I don’t want to be stranded somewhere! Thanks
Hi! I am travelling from Paris to pula, and it’s a very confusing journey for me. There are a couple connections which are only 6 minutes or 10 minutes, and I’m worried I won’t have time to make the connection and I’ll miss the train. Is there a way to know how far the stations are from each other? thank you so much!
Obviously there is a problem with reservations in general, but there is no official information provided by Interrail, which makes it nearly impossible to plan a longer trip. When is this going to be fixed and why is there no explanation how to purchase seat reservations at the moment? It is very misleading and unfair that you have to scroll through the community to find anything regarding this problem.
Hi there,my girlfriend and I wanted to use our Interrail pass, but because of strikes couldn’t use our outbound travel day yesterday. Hence, we made a reservation for tomorrow, when the strikes are over - but reralize now that we have no outbound travel day anymore and hence can’t use the trains we made a reservation for. What can we do?Best regardsLeon
Hi! So I’m planning my trip that I am about to do during late autumn/winter and I really want to make it as a cheap experience as possible. Therefore I am aiming for trains that doesn't require reservationsI am totally new to this but I have done a lot of research, though there are some formulations I can't wrap my head around. For instance when I search for connections with no reservation required I sometimes see this grey statement that there is no information available about that particular train, even thought I only chose to see search results with no reservations. What does this mean? Is it cancelled or is it a commuter train with no booking what so ever? Also when I look up connections on the rail planner app it doesn't necessarily say this, it just says when reservation is mandatory, but when I check the facilities it sometimes says “no reservation on part of journey”. Does this mean that there is a specific distance during that ride that costs money? It often says this when a re
