Greetings,Used tickets.oebb.at to get by night train all the way from Zurich, through Budapest (Hungary), to Bucuresti (Romania) with the goal to reach Istanbul. However, having issues trying to figure out how to get to Istanbul from Bucuresti. Would love to take a night train from anywhere (Sofia to Istanbul, etc), however if not an option a day and multi-day trains are absolutely welcome. We love trains so do not mind an adventure (have wife and kid with us so sleeping in a hotel/motel, train station probably no go).. Any suggestions how to book? Any cities to which Istanbul trains are confirmed to run? Any problems booking in person at the train station (if the only option) and return trip back from Istanbul?Any other advise, links, etc? I’ll search in the meantime as it appears the topic is popular - no luck so far though getting an answer. Eurail.com does not appear to work to search for Istanbul train tickets.. Thanks!George
I find the itinerary I want and there are no seat resv. required, but there is nothing to click on to book the trains I want. It just says view cart at the end, but since no $ because I have the global pass the view cart is not lit up to click. So how do I book this ?
Goodevening to everyone,I’ve decided to open a new thread after reading several other ones.I’m going to have a little trip starting from Italy and going to Istanbul and return this Summer. The problem is, finding reservation for nightrains from Budapest to Bucarest is impossible via Eurail website/app: sometimes they’re not available, sometimes they are but they are paper ones and it takes too long to be delivered.A similar thing happens when I have to book seats for Bucarest-Istanbul night train: no seats available, or I have to make reservations but there isn’t any prompt to proceed to do so.I’ve read that is almost always better to make reservations not using Eurail app.My questions are:Why is the app not functioning? Are the seats likely sold out or is an internal issue? For a future journey: should I book seats MUCH more in advance? I can reserve tickets online using railways websites, I know, but are they more expensive than the ones I could (not in this case, obviously) res
Hi !I’m new to the interrail community and I don’t understand the reservation process. I thought that with the mobile pass no tickets would need to be sent to me by post. However now that I try to make reservations via the interrail website some options appear marked as ‘delivered by post’, namely polish trains.Does it mean that I cannot book those online and have them on my phone but need to wait for them to be delivered to me at home ? Is it possible to make the reservation online via the interrail website and retrieve it physically once in a polish train stations ?Thank you in advance for your help <3
Looking for some help. Have a 5 day travel pass. And so far have spent two travel days, one on high speed trains (which I had to buy a reservation for and did so through the inter rail website) and one on regional trains (which has meant I haven’t had to buy reservations as they have been included). My next trains need a reservation. However, they are unable to buy through inter rail website (it says ‘n/a’ on the booking platform) The alternative option I’m given, is buy them at a train station. My question is: if I buy a reservation at the station, will it be full price? And if it is full price, I don’t understand what the point of the inter rail pass is. I thought the inter rail pass would give me either free or cheap train fares. Surely if I buy in the station that wont be the case. Any help to clear up my confusion would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Hello hive mind!I want to book a reservation for the TGV 9240 from Milano Porta Garibaldi to Chambéry-Challes-les-Eaux. When checking the pricing for the reservation at https://www.eurail.com/, a price of about 120$ is shown. For this price, I would be able to buy 2 normal tickets including a reservation. Why is the price so high? And does anyone have a recommendation for a cheaper option?
Hi, We are traveling this summer across central europe, & I’m having issues to make seat reservation for some trains. Here is the route:Split > Zagreb : reservation needed Zagreb > Budapest : no reservation needed :) Budapest > Krakow (PL) : can’t find a place to make a reservation Krakow > Prague : same can’t find a place to make a reservation. For trains inside a give country it’s more o less ok depending on the websites, but when going to another country I can’t find a way to only reserve my seat. Thanks in advance for the help.
Hello I’m gathering information for a trip I’m planning to take with my husband in late September into October - travelling from London, through France and into Spain and Portugal. We have global continuous passes (1 month). I know that there are some RENFE reservation issues but that one route to booking reservations is to go via DB phone line, armed with train numbers. I have the excellent European railway timetable which includes train numbers. Does anyone know if these will be the ones needed to book reservations (or is there a RENFE timetable change?) Does anyone know if all the trains can be booked now? I think some might not be available to book until neare the time but I am keen to book Eurostar both ways and the big France into Spain; Spain into France tickets before they sell out. Perhaps I need to do my booking in a few batches We will be travelling as a pair and want to have reservations together, obviously we have two seperate passes. Slightly stupid question, but is it ea
Hi community, I bought a mobile global Interail pass a few days ago and since then I have to say my experience with Interail website and customer service has been completely awful. I was first able (after experiencing many problems with Interrail website though) to book my first trip: Colmar (France) - London. Unfortunately after that it has been impossible for me to buy my second trip on the website: London - Bern on the 31st of July 2022 or even only London - Paris via Eurostar. The website says ‘prices unavailable. Check back in a few hours to see prices and book this seat reservations’. I have been checking now for many many hours and days and it is still the same.I have to add that before I bought my pass I was able to check the prices of these trips and all on their webiste, so I really don’t understand what is going on now. Then I wrote Interail customer service several times from last Friday and still got no answer from them. I have been looking on forums and websites for hours
We still have not received our physical tickets in the mail and they were supposed to arrive by June 16th. The tracker shows they arrived in the USA on June 14th but there is no further information. We leave for our trip next week. Customer service is not answering because they are so busy. What should we do? Please help!! This ticket was to get from Innsbruck HBF to Venezia S. Lucia.
We are trying very hard to make our Renfe / AVE reservations for our ‘Spain cityhopping trip’ on time, which is rather complicated as most people here know, so if all else fails we will be forced to try making our reservations very last-minute, AT the Renfe / AVE stations. So these questions are basically about this worst case scenario: -How last-minute can we make reservations AT the departure stations? At least 48 hours in advance? 24 hours in advance? 1 hour in advance?-Can we -for example- reserve seats between Madrid and Bilbao when we are in the -for example- Seville RENFE station? Or can we only reserve trips starting from Seville from there? -In hindsight: As we have planned only 5 trips (Seville - Granada | Granada - Madrid | Madrid - Bilbao | Bilbao - Zaragoza | Zaragoza - Girona) wouldn’t we have been better off with a Renfe pass for international travellers? Would this have saved us all the reservation hassle that we got ‘for free’ with our One Country Passes Spain, as Renfe
Despite many posts on this forum saying not to worry about train reservations booking out (and Seat61 saying the same thing) it looks like trains are booking out this summer and I can’t get the specific train I want. I was hoping to catch the 7AM FR from Roma Termini to Naples Centrale on 28 July 2022. OBB says tickets not available and the next high speed train is at 8AM which does have tickets available. However, when I look at Trenitalia or ItaliaRail there is an FR at 6:50AM. This train does not show on OBB nor on Eurail. I cannot see a way to use my Eurail pass to book this 6:50AM train on Trenitalia or ItaliaRail. Is there any way I can book this 6:50AM FR using my Eurail pass and paying only the 10EUR reservation fee rather than having to buy a regular ticket via Trenitalia or ItaliaRail? Thanks!
It seems to be impossible to make reservations for Scotrail trains. Glasgow-Oban and Inverness-Edinburgh through ACP Rail services and GWR both are not possible. From their website It seems that Scotrail automatically makes a reservation if you buy a ticket in advance. If that is the case the number of Interrail reservations will be very limited if any.Solutions?
Hello, fellow travellers!I need to book two seats for the train below (SNCF IC Night 5772 on Monday 4th July). I tried to book it on many sources and not a single one of them works. Eurail doesn´t show prices, SNCF webpage and Omio and Trainline are not able to book only seat or to apply a Interrail discount. Travel-b-europe webpage is unable to find Marseille Blancarde station (so it doesn´t show this train at all, since it´s not TGV). Have any of you got any reccomendation how to book this train? I´m getting pretty desperate at this moment. Thanks a lot for any answer! <3Marie
Hi everybodyI,m on interrail again, first time since the early eighties. This time on 1.class ticket. And now here is my question; - will i get a seat on 1.class on trains where no reservations are needed, without having reserved ?Or do they oversell 1.class tickets?Best wishes GP
Hello folksThis August is going to be my first time interrailing. I have a one way plane ticket from Stockholm to Gdansk, and I am planning to travel around Europe from there.I was looking into night trains available from Poland. Interrail website says you can travel from Warsaw to Budapest/Prague/Vienna. However, I was not able to find any night train tickets on the ÖBB website nor the interrail website to make a reservation. Are these trains going during August? How do I make the reservation and find the tickets? Are there any other destinations available by night trains from Poland? All help would be really appreciated :)
Jehart
