Covid Testing Requirements for train travel

Hello, my wife & I will be traveling next week & I wasn't sure what entry requirements that I see are applicable to train travel. We are taking the train from Germany to Switzerland to Italy. Will travel by train follow all of the same entry requirements as somebody traveling by plane?

Paris to Copenhagen night Train

Looking at travelling from Paris to Copenhagen on our Eurail pass. We are a family of 4 and looking at the best way to travel (in a 4 berth) in December. Is it possible to use only 1 “day” of our pass? Has anyone done this route?

DB Streik Fahrt verfallen?!

Hey zusammen, unser erster Reisetag (03.09) war leider auch Streik Tag der GDL und somit ist der Zug von Berlin nach Warschau nicht gefahren (sind FlixBus gefahren...).  Da 2 von unserer Gruppe aber diese Strecke nicht aus dem Pass genommen haben, können sie nicht die letzte Strecke (die wir eigentlich mit dem Bus fahren wollten...) nicht mehr nutzen.  Der Service funktioniert nicht, Mail beantwortet seit ner Woche niemand, DB Oebb usw können nicht helfen.  Können wir uns übermorgen einfach in den ICE München Berlin setzen?? Oder könnte das richtig Ärger geben, auch wenn man denen das erklärt und belegen kann….  danke!!

This year 600 000 Interrail Passes sold! New Record!

Hi, today some German speaking media has released that according to Deutsche Bahn (Eurail B.V. shareholder) the Interrail pass is more popular than ever: this year 600,000 tickets have already been sold across Europe. Compared to 2019, the number of tickets sold has almost doubled. The number of Interrail tickets sold in Europe this year has risen to a record of around 600,000. Luggage storage or lockers at Sighisoara Train station

Hi, I will be spending aday in Sighisoara, Romania before travelling onwards. Does anyone know that there is a luggage storage/ locker at the train station? Not sure if COVID closed down some of the luggage locker shops! Thanks,

Adding a trip with a transfer manually

I was planning my trip on the app, but one trip that I found with the trip planner online does not appear in the app. So I wanted to add it manually, but I was wondering how I should fill it in with a trip that has a transfer. Do I add the different trains individually or just from the beginning city to the last city? Thankyou :)

Night Train from Venice to Bern Switzerland? Geneva to Paris overnight?

My wife and I are considering a night train from Venice to Bern (Lauterbrunnen). We are also considering an overnight from Geneva to Paris.Has anyone done this (sleeper car, first class seats, other)?Suggestions?  Are we going to be missing out on scenery or other as a result?

Travelling by train and bike (and intermediate ship) in Norway

Hello, we both want to travel at the end of May from Heidelberg/Germany carrying our E-bikes in the train to Copenhagen, visit the capital of Denmark. Then take the ferry to Oslo, visit the capital of Norway two days, then take the Bergensbanen to Bergen. After a couple of days there, looking around by bikes too, we’re going by ship (Hurtigruten) to Trondheim. After sightseeing at this interesting town, we ride a bike tour to Steinkjer.In Steinkjer we want to take the train to the town of Mosjoen northbound. Then once more the bike to northern Helgelands-Coast until the harbour of Oernes, where the Hurtigruten ship will pick us and bring to Stamsund/ Lofots. There we stay about a week, discovering these wonderful archipelago by bike. Then back to Bodoe by ferry and from Bodoe by the Night train southbound to Trondheim. Next day Trondheim-Oslo by train and after one day visit again in the capital  back over Copenhagen ( Ferry) to Heidelberg.Our questions: how is the transportation of (

Border crossing from Germany to France in Saarbrücken

Hi all,I am using the Interrail Ticket for the first time. I bought the Interrail-France-Pass with 4 days of travel and I am living in Germany. I am planning on crossing the border at Saarbrücken. How does this actually work. I planning on getting a ticket with Deutsche Bahn to Saarbrücken. Can I then use the Interrail Ticket from Saarbrücken?Thanks for your advice.Martin

Information on Interrail pass for Indian passport holder

Hello All,I am living in UK on residence permit and have Indian passport, I have few questions regarding interrail and hope to get clarification around it.Can I get interrail pass at all? Or I have to get Eurail pass instead? My UK resident permit is valid from Nov 2021 till Nov 2022, can I purchase interrail pass for travel in month of May? Is there any criteria regarding validity of residence permit? Can I used this pass to travel in UK, for example, I am living in Newcastle, Can I use this pass to travel from Newcastle to London and then London to Paris on same day? Can I use this pass to get Schengen Visa?Thanks in advance for your help.

Suitable bank card for travelling around Europe

I’ve been looking into bank cards for when I travel Europe and was wondering what cards have been used without having any problems with them. I’m thinking of using Sterling bank but want to know if you get to decide weather you pay in GBP or the local currency when using the card, does it work in all countries across Europe, do some places not accept a Sterling bank card.  Thanks :)

What trains can I use to get from Greece to Croatia?

In June, I and a friend are planning on using Eurail Global passes to get from Athens, Greece to Split, Croatia. Looking at the map on the Eurail website, it looks like the trip is going to be 5 stops, but I can’t find any information about train schedules, additional fees, ride lengths, or participating stations and rail companies. Does anyone have more specific information about the trains or is it simply too far in the future? Do we have to just find out while we’re there?Thanks

Train Travel in Albania. N Macedonia, Serbia

April 23. VERY frustrating, no trains operate currently in  Albania and N Macedonia. Am hoping against hope that one route from.Podgorica in Montenegro to Belgrade might be operative so will.enquire this weekend when we get there Message from me- forget trains, plan your route by bus. Plenty of those but largely demands on the spot sorting out, and finding where to buy tickets and the location of the bus station not obvious.

Hallo,ich bin neu hier. Möchte zum ersten mal mit dem Interrail reisen. Dazu will ich für die Schweiz einen 3 Tage Pass für Senioren in Papierform kaufen. Muss ich mit dem Papier trotzdem zum Fahrkartenschalter um eine Fahrkarte und / oder eine Platzkarte zu bekommen? Mein Reisewunsch ist u.a. von Wetzikon über Luzern nach Montreux und zurück. Dabei möchte ich gern im Panoramawagen sitzen. Looking for travel buddy

Hello, I am looking for people who would like to accompany me one, a few days or more traveling the Balkan. I will take train wherever possible and would like to sleep in my tent where ever possible and otherwise in hostels. It is planned to go quickly to Romania. take a two day hike in the Kapats and then traveling via Bucharest to the Black Sea. Via Bulgaria I want to go to Istanbul and from there via Thessaloniki to Athens. From Athens I plan to take all countries along the Adriatic (Mediterranean coast) and go back home. Croatia seat reservations

We travelled from UK to Croatia.  For the journey through France, Germany, Austria and Slovenia the interrail app allowed us to find trains for which we did not need to buy seat reservations.  However, all the Croatian trains said we needed reservations.  The information on the Interrail site leads you to believe that you can buy these through the OBB Austrian train reservation site.  This isn’t true. I wasted many hours trying to find some way of getting the reservations, sometime getting as far as the payment page, only to be thrown out with an “error” at the final point of booking.  At Salzburg and Ljubljana stations we asked if we could buy the seat reservations there and were told “only in Croatia”.  We were due to change trains in Zagreb with 4 hours between trains so decided to try there.  It was quite worrying as on the return journey we wanted a sleeper on the Zagreb to Munich overnight train, which would then connect to Frankfurt and the Eurostar.  So any problems would have

Wifi connection Frecciarossa

I am now on a frecciarossa, in business class.'fast wifi'... my phone finds a network which disconnects every 6 seconds, my tablet doesn't even find it… Anyone any idea, is frecciarossa networks just bad quality? Or not lucky on this particular train. Quite disappointing when one wants to get some work done

Night train sleeper booking

Hi, We are a family from Sweden with two younger kids and a little dog.  We would like to experice the night train through Germany to Swizzerland, and continue from there to our destination Sicily. Are there any night train with sleepers between Hamburg and Munich? so far jag have seen for example ICE1689, but there is no sleepers on that train, is that right? Again,  Duisburg till Basel, NJ 403, the price for a coach/ person is 159 Euro, is this possble? even with a interral pass? or am i searching in a wrong way? Exremly grateful for advice and tips.Many thanks!/Mei

WARNING Route Budapest - Bratislava is currently blocked.

Due a mudslide near Szob Hungary the Route between Bratislava - Budapest is currently blocked (atleast till mid August)Eurocities betwen Bratislava - Budapest will be diverted via Györ
