WARNING Route Budapest - Bratislava is currently blocked.

Due a mudslide near Szob Hungary the Route between Bratislava - Budapest is currently blocked (atleast till mid August)Eurocities betwen Bratislava - Budapest will be diverted via Györ

Switzerland advice please

Hi. I'm thinking of buying a 4 day Swiss pass. There are so many places i want to go from Bern, and I'm thinking of doing 2 or 3 trips per day. But i want to have some flexibility in case, for example, I love the first stop and don't want to do a second trip that same day. Or, perhaps i want to change a trip because of bad weatherSo, finally, the question: can i book tickets on the day of travel and then change them if I want to?Thanks very much  Terry

Luggage Storage at Pisa Station

Hi. My partner and I will be travelling from Florence to Rome and have decided to do a side trip in between to Pisa. Is there a luggage storage at Pisa Centrale station? It would be a lot easier to roam around Pisa without our luggage. Thanks in advance for the help

Intercity notte reservation NMBS

The employee I had on the phone yesterday claims that you can't upload the tickets you buy at the counter in the nmbs app???  Why are the conditions of the ticket not on the printed PDF document, but only in the PFD document that you receive by email?Something that NMBS is not aware of, or what do you think?  There is 1 barcode on the document, for 2 travelers. According to the counter clerk, it is perfectly possible to scan this barcode twice. According to her, this certainly works in Belgium, so it should also work abroad.Can anyone confirm this?  The employee could only choose between:Seat, berth place, and bed place.This was very unclear for the employee, for myself, because the options are worded very differently on the Trenitalia site.Only because of the amount I am currently somewhat certain that they are the right places.The program of NMBS did not provide any options for a berth place, so prices cannot be compared.However, there are still berth places available on the Trenital

Interrailing with a Bicycle

Hi everyone, extremely knew to the concept of interrailing, heard of it but never considered it a viable option. My intention would be to travel with my bike in tow, it’s only a small BMX bike.  i’ve seen in the FAQ’s that it is at the discretion of the rail companies as to whether they alllow travel with bikes, but was curious to ask in here if anyone had any first hand experience? i assume travelling with a bicycle ain’t hugely unusual and i am hopeful i will be able to make it work on my travels this summer. Thanks in advance,Chaz

Austria Trains - where are the first class cabins located?

Hi, Will be visiting Austria end of the year and we will be purchasing the Eurail pass. Would like to know where the first class cabins are located in the train. Are they at the front or end of the trains? If we are to wait at the platform for the train to arrive, how do we tell which part of the platform we should be standing to wait for the train? We are travelling with some senior citizens and we hope we can know where the 1st class cabins are located so that we would not have to run and rush when the train arrives and realising that we are actually waiting at the wrong end of the train. By the way are we able to walk through the train carriages?

Since there are many trains to be changed and the adjacent times are relatively close, is there any app that can tell you the instructions for changing stations in advance, for example: it takes a few minutes to change the number of cars at several platforms.  ?

How to travel on train in Northern Scandinavia?

Hi! I’m planning to do a route in Scandinavia this summer and after doing Norway I wanted to go to northern Sweden and then Finland. I tried to create a route on the rail planner app which went from Bodoe to Kiruna to Rovaniemi, but I can’t find any train available. Maps at best gave me a bus route from Bodoe to Kiruna but nothing else to go to Rovaniemi. Does anyone know how I can get there with public transportation? Would I be forced to go back to Oslo and then through Stockolm in order to get to Kiruna by train? Finally would I be also forced to take the ferry at Stockholm in order to get to Finland and then take the train to Rovaniemi?  If anyone else has done this route or a similar one and has some input or someone whose from there could help me I would apreciate it very much. Thank you!

How to travel during UK train strikes?

Hi all,Like a few others here, much of my train travel (using my GlobalPass) was meant to happen in the UK next week which is now hobbled by the strikes and I’m wondering a few things.Is it possible to board a train even when reservations are full using my GlobalPass? Or is there some way to discern if a reservation is available further down the line, so at some point I’ll have a proper seat.Or if not, is there any affiliation with coach companies like National Express where I could use my Pass for a coach instead?Trying to sort out travel ASAP for June 21st, London > Penrith.Thanks.*EDIT to add that I’m arriving from Paris on Eurostar the early morning of the 21st.

Stolen phone and luggage

Hello! My phone and luggage were stolen today on an overnight train from Amsterdam Centraal to Basel Switzerland. Just wondering how anyone has gone about this, did the train company look at camera footage? They said they couldn’t do anything, it happens all the time, to file a police report.

Annecy to Geneva

The Eurail Planning app says there are half a dozen trains from Annecy France to Geneva Switzerland on Sunday. However, when I check the French Oui-scnf app, it shows no trains Trainline also shows no trains at all. A local fellow says there are no trains or not dependable, and recommends the bus. But the Eurail app still shows these train trips - they are TER (SCNF) trains with numbers and stops listed out.  Can anyone explain what is going on? Is the planning app wrong, or is SCNF wrong? I am not sure if the train office will be open on a Sunday to ask them.

Question about the Vienna-Rome nightjet July 2024

I am organizing an Interrail trip for this summer, and I was planning to travel on July 27 on the Nightjet 40233 from Vienna to Rome. I have seen that trenitallia has already published the summer timetable so I often check to see if the train is already on sale. However, when looking this afternoon I saw that none of the trains that go to Italy (Milan, Venice) are available to buy, and their timetable already came out months ago. I have searched obb scotty and it appears that there is construction work between Villach and tarvisio between July 12 and July 28, so many day trains will not be available and night trains will be rerouted. Therefore I don't know if I should wait for the summer trains to Rome to leave since I'm not sure if the one on the 27th will be available so I don't know if I should start looking at flights. If anyone knows if these trains are going to go on sale one day, please help me. Thank youP.S: All trains that go to Venice before July 12 and after July 28 can be p

OBB Nightjet Italy Strike 1/12

I have a train booking from Munich - Venice via OBB nightjet 1 December 11pm. We were only notified recently that Italy will be having strikes on 1 December 9pm - 2 December 9pm. Will this affect our train? Have called up OBB but they do not have any further details on this. Should we still go ahead with boarding the train? Can't imagine getting stuck on the train for 15 hours till the strike ends at 9pm...

Collection of wrong information in the Railplanner App

Hi guys!Would be nice to have a collection of wrong (or missing) information on the Railplanner App.I will start:IC/IR/EC Switzerland<->Domodossola: The app says a reservation is required. Actually there is none required. Just if you continue to/from Domodossola from other Italian destinations, a reservation is needed…  EN (München/Zürich)-Salzburg-Budapest: The EuroCity part of this train is not shown in the app. With the EC carriages you can travel without a reservation between Salzburg and Budapest. For many EC/RJ trains between Budapest and Vienna it says that a reservation is required. That’s not true. Only for domestic trips INSIDE Hungary (e.g. Budapest-Györ) a reservation is required (which can be easily done on a ticket machine at the station or also online). For many trains on the Bludenz-Bregenz line it says “not in pass network” if they are coming from Schruns. This is due to Montafonerbahn being not part of the railpass (Bludenz<->Schruns), but on the stretch B

Are Milano Centrale and Milano Rogoredo next to eachother. I have to switch trains

This is our first time abroad and traveling by train.  One of our legs is from Como to Bologna.  We go from Como to Milano Centrale and then Milano Rogoredo to Bologna Centrale.  Can anyone tell me if the Milano Centrale and Milano Rogoredo are next to each other?  It shows we switch trains.

Flying, border control, and COVID

Hi allSorry if this quesetion is silly but its my (19M) first big solo trip and its also my first time interrailing. I have a question about border control + COVIDWhen starting my journey ill actually be flying to my first destination (Sevilla) from England. My last destination will be 7 weeks later in Amsterdam and then I will fly home again. Will I have any problems at border control in the airport when they see I landed in Spain and was just chilling in Europe for 2 months and then ended up in Amsterdam to fly back? I assume my passport wont get stamped between countries when using a train so Im concerned I’ll experience problems trying to get home. Also nothing to worry about with Brexit , right? How early before departing a country / city shall i check covid requirements? Is it necessary to check when travelling in country (e.g: Madrid to Barcelona?)
