Adding places on my trip
HelloI have a Global Pass valid for 2 months.I just read on the website something that I don’t quite understand.I wanted to activate the pass next week and I thought I could later add as many trips/connections, new places to visit afterwards depending on where I’ll be and where I want to go next.Is that possible or is it mandatory to add all the travel details from the beginning before the activation of the Pass?Thank you for your help
Is it feasible to base yourself in Hamburg for a week and see neighbouring places by day trip?
Hello, or should I say guten tag? 😁 I am busy making planning ideas for 2 months in Europe. I really want to see some places in Germany and have had ideas about basing myself in one place and travelling by day to surrounding cities and towns. So I thought that maybe Hamburg would be a good base for maybe a week and to take day trips to the likes of Lubeck, Bremen and Oldenburg. For a long time now I have been fascinated with the history of merchant cities in medieval Europe, so Lubeck is a must. Hamburg is probably a similar experience.Using the app I can see that travelling from Hamburg to these places is so fast because of Germany’s high speed links. I just want to be sure that I can make the most of these places with a day trip so was looking for ideas from people that know. I will continue to do watching and reading online but I thought asking the experienced here would also be a good idea. I suspect this would make booking accomodation so much easier than having to find hotels etc
Train from Sundsvall (SE) to Trondheim (NO)
I want to take the train from Sundvall (Sweden) to Trondheim (Norway) via Storlien. I am planning on doing this in July.If I check the Rail Planner app I don't see this specific option. But if I check the Vy website (transport in Norway) it does give this option. Just not in July because that is too far in the future. Does this track still exits and does the train ride in July? And is it possibele to take this train with the Global Pass?Thank you!!
What is the easiest/fastest way to get to Tangier(Morocco) from Madrid/Seville?
Hello everyone, I was just wondering if there is a better way to get to Morocco from Spain. My husband and I will arrive in Paris on April 15, our original plan was to stay in Paris for a few days, then head to Barcelona for a few days, then go to Madrid, then go to Morocco after that. We purchased Eurail global pass.We thought about taking the train from Madrid to Seville as it seems like a close stop over before Morocco, and then take a bus to either Tarifa or Algeciras and then take the ferry cross the Strait of Gibraltar and get to Tangier. It seems like a lot of travel just to get to Tangier from Madrid, so I had a look at the flight options, and it worked out at least 155 euro for the flight including 1 checked and 1 carry on luggage. We then need to head back to London on May 5 as we have 2 nights accommodations booked for the King’s coronation. I was thinking on the way back from Morocco, we can get to Seville, and stay there for a couple of nights then flight back to London ins

In the planning stages for October trip
Good day all. I am just in the planning stages for an October birthday trip (from Canada, first time to Europe) and these issues with the rail system are quite concerning. We plan to go via Amsterdam and stop in Brussels, Bruges and on to Paris. Do I need to book the trains this far out? And how do you manage issues with travel? I would like a fairly stress-free trip, but now I wonder if that is possible with these train issues. So, is two months out enough time to book trains, sight-seeing tickets etc? I haven’t booked my flights yet so have time to consider other destinations as well. Is it worth going to Europe?
Small European Cities Train Trips
We are planning to travel Europe from Sept. thru Oct. Our itinerary isFrankfurt to GoslarGoslar to WernigerodeWernigerode to QuedlinburgQuedlinburg to BerlinBerlin - Prague - Rome - Frankfurt Looks like the Eurail pass is the way to go for the big cities. Is there a pass that works for the small cities too?i.e. Frankfurt - Goslar - Wernigerode - Quedlinburg - Belin Or do we just have to buy individual tickets for those trips? Thanks.
Milan to Tirano
I saw the website stated that there is regional train from Milan to Tirano. Therefore, I’m planning to take train and then take the Bernina Express at Tirano. However, I saw the train journey is totally different during the early of December (2 hours) compare to the date that I travel (15 hours). Does the timetable accurate?

Greece / North Macedonia / Bulgaria train connections. Any advice?
Hello everyone,I am planning a one-month trip from Venice to Sofia from mid-March to mid-April.All the way from Italia to Greece is pretty easy to plan, but the Balkans’ part is way more difficult.I am especially struggling to find train tickets:- From Athens to Florina > Even on the website of the Greek trains company Trainose, I don’t find any tickets, even when I look for travels from Athen to Larissa - Larissa to Florina. I tried as well with a step in Thesaloniki... For all these options, the website said there is no ticket at all... Does that mean that there is no train anymore in Greece ? Or is it just impossible anymore to book on Trainose ? And where to book a ticket, then ?- From Florina to Bitola > As far as I understood, there is no train line crossing the border between Greece and North Macedonia... How to cross the border, then ? Are there any buses or cheap cabs ? Is it safe to cross the border here as a women alone without traveling by train ?- From Kochani to Sof
Length needed in each country
Hello, I am currently planning an interrail trip for August! I was just wanting a little bit of advice about how long to spend in each place? For example, I was going to buy the 10 travel day pass and travel for 3 weeks, I have 10 places down to visit, averaging 2 days in each place (so travelling to next place every other morning/evening) Here is my preliminary itiniary, does anyone know if this will be doable at all? Or is it worth taking out one place or so just to lengthen it out slightly? Just don't want to be stressed moving lots from one place to another! Thank you so much!

Switzerland Scenic Trains
I am looking at purchasing the Eurail pass for Switzerland, but I cannot find any information on whether or not the pass will allow travel on the various scenic trains (Bernina Express, Glacier Express, Golden Pass). I do see that it allows transit to and from Luzern - Interlaken - Montreux - Zermatt, but are these on the scenic trains, or regional trains. Any assistance would be appreciated.

From the Netherlands to Italy
Hi all, My wife and I are planning to go to Italy to celebrate some holiday's. At the end of the trip I meet a couple of friends in Palermo to have a guys weekend. My wife will most likely go back home from Rome.We want to see nature instead of cities. One of the places we want to visit are the Dolomites. Does anyone has any expierence on how to come there by train? When I look on the website of interrail I can only select large cities. So, I'm not quite sure of it is possible to go to the Dolomites by train. It might be that I need to search in a different way.In total we have 12 days together and then I have a couple of days with friends. So we are not only going to the Dolomites, but we were also thinking about the black forest in Germany. Tips on how the get there would also be helpfull. Thank you for all the responses!
Too late for July ? Best route to go from France to Slovenia ?
Hi all, I would like to start my trip next week from Paris (France) for 1 month. My goal is to visit Eastern countries starting by Slovenia (Lubjana). To be honnest, I have no clue if the best route is to cross Italia (from Milan, Roma or Turino), Austria, Switzerland or Germany. Do you have any recommandation ? Also, can you share your view on the timing of the departure? Do you think it will be “too” tight for next Monday? Many thanks ! Also, if you are in Lubjana, Zagreb, Budapest, in the following weeks, do not hesitate to reach out!
Dringend: 6.08 Abfahrt
Was soll ich jetzt tun? Ich kann ja nur den einen Journey mit der bereits gebuchten Sitzplatzreservierung buchen und benötige aber noch eine Sitzplatzreservierung, für die ich aber nur noch eine andere Verbindung nehmen kann.
Eastern Europe trip in January
Hi,I am planning a trip in January next year which will go roughly. Germany-Austria-Hungary-Romania and then ideally back to the UK by a more southerly route. I have a couple of questions. The train times search on interrail.eu seems to only show certain trains - for example Vienna to Budapest only shows a train departing at 19:42 each evening but the OBB and Deutsche Bahn websites show multiple trains through the day. Is the pass only valid on the 19:42 or is this a problem with the website?Second does anyone know of any onward options from Romania? Whatever timetables I look at seem to show that I can go as far as Sofia in Bulgaria and no further. Otherwise from either Bulgaria or Romania the only option appears to be to retrace my steps to Budapest. Do any trains run west to Serbia or North Macedonia?
