Luggage, baggage and traveling home.

Hello all,I study at Heidelberg University and am travelling home around the 17th of September to Edinburgh. I have a visa for Germany and want to use my Interrail pass as a way to visit some international friends I’ve made in Dusseldorf and such en route home.As such, I will be taking a few cases of belongings as I need to empty my Heidelberg flat. Are there are restrictions on the Eurotunnel luggage that you’ve encounter that should make me think again about using this pass as a cheaper way to scuttle around before returning home?

What to do if you find yourself stranded after a delayed train

Does anybody have a link to any sort of guide for IR/Eurail travellers on what to do if you miss the last train of the day because of a cancelled or delayed train? I know it is supposedly the responsibility of the operator of the delayed train, but if the train has many passengers in the same situation and only one member of staff on duty (or even zero staff) what do you do?What can you claim for and from who?Do you have to stay calm and wait for them to attend to you or can you go and get a taxi or book a hotel? What food will they cover? I know IR/Eurail do give some return for delayed and cancelled trains but, when they say no claims for payments of less than 4 euro will be paid, that clearly shows the payment will be a pittance.  It is simply a proportion of your pass cost, not reflecting the retail ticket price, and that they will forward any other costs to the carrier.https://www.interrail.eu/en/support/delay-compensationhttps://www.interrail.eu/content/dam/delay-compensation-doc

number of days in eurail

I’m traveling first time to Europe and booked for transportation between European cities through eurail, the number of travel days is 10. 1. In a single travel day, can a use the train as much as I wanna?Are there a specific Train Company I could use or I can use all companies?tabjs thanks for your assistance in advance

Connection between TALLINN and PRAGUE is missing

Hi everyone! I am a new Interrail user and I need your help!I am planning my first Interrail experience but I am having troubles in finding connections between Tallinn and Prague. I have read that the app might not be updated and that the Baltic regions might not have inserted the train timetables on the Interrail webpage. My question is: If I book the train connection (Tallinn-Prague) on a national rail webpage (Omio), will it be included in my Interrail ticket or will I have to pay extra for it? How do I do?(As both Tallinn and Prague are Interrail destinations) THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

trains in march

hi guys,i want to travel in eastern europe in march and want to start in germany and go to greece and romania. So I alreaday saw a train from germany to croatia which i will need for an extra stop before going to greece (thessaloniki). But although it is indicated on the europe railway map I can’t find a train from croatia (zagreb) to greece (thessaloniki). I have the same problem if i want to go from thessaloniki to romania (bucarest). do I need an extra stop in between those destinations or are the timetables still not out yet? I am thankful for any help.

Is the Leonardo Express from Rome Termini - airport, reliable?

I’m thinking of using the Leonardo Express from Rome termini to the airport. Has anyone used this, is it a reliable train service as I’ve seen some negative reviews about it. Was thinking of booking in advance?

OBB Nightjet Italy Strike 1/12

I have a train booking from Munich - Venice via OBB nightjet 1 December 11pm. We were only notified recently that Italy will be having strikes on 1 December 9pm - 2 December 9pm. Will this affect our train? Have called up OBB but they do not have any further details on this. Should we still go ahead with boarding the train? Can't imagine getting stuck on the train for 15 hours till the strike ends at 9pm...

Looking at travelling from Paris to Copenhagen on our Eurail pass. We are a family of 4 and looking at the best way to travel (in a 4 berth) in December. Is it possible to use only 1 “day” of our pass? Has anyone done this route?

Travelling alone. Is it safe?

Hey! Is it considered to be safe to travel alone on interrail? Is there something that i need to know about in this case? Like i am wondering if something happens and I miss a train so that I am stuck at a train station at the middle of the night, would that be dangerous?

Hi I received the email for the delivery of the tickets, unfortunately itsays by 2/06 but as you can see the trip is indicated for March. Is itpossible to have either an email that allows us to make the trip or anadvance shipment of tickets?

Do people mostly reserve seats in the summer peak?

We are inter-railing in July as a family of four (two teenagers). We are doing some popular long-ish routes eg Brussels to Munich via Frankfurt, and Salzburg to Budapest. My question is whether the trains tend to be heaving at this time of year and how likely we are to end up standing/ sitting on the floor? If the latter, can trains safely be booked a few days in advance or should we be doing it weeks in advance?

Passenger Locator form needed- travelling by rail?

Hi everyone, I'll be travelling from Ireland to Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy next month and wondering is it necessary to have PLF (passenger locator form) upon entering each country? I know they're necessary when flying to some countries but wasn't sure if they were needed when travelling by rail. I'm from the EU and I have a digital covid cert including my latest booster shot so I'm covered in that regard. Wondering if anyone can offer any clarity!

Patras to Piraeus with 6 Day Greek Island Pass

I'm wondering about the TrainOSE bus/train combination between Patras and Piraeus that is included with the Eurail Greek Islands 6 Day Pass. Does anyone know if it’s necessary to make a reservation or buy a ticket prior to boarding, or can you simply board by showing your pass? If you have to make a reservation, how do you do so? The TrainOSE website doesn't seem to offer the Eurail/Interrail pass as discount option.

Using Benelux within the Netherlands

Hello and thank you for allowing me to join this group 🙂I have a question about using the Benelux card and if this specific topic has already been discussed, I apologize, and ask for the link to be sent to me, please!My question:  I know I can use the Benelux card to go from Amsterdam to say Brussels but I just need to understand if I can use it to travel WITHIN the Netherlands, e.g. from Amsterdam to Rotterdam.  Please advise, thank you so much!

Taking the dog to spain

I am planning to travel from germany to Barcelona, Spain with my dog. I have already checked, that dogs are allowed in the TGV trains. And you need a halfprice ticket for the dog.My question is: what kind of interrail ticket do I have to buy for the dog? a kids ticket?

Use of LNER lounge in Kings Cross, London

Is it possible to use your 1st class pass to access the LNER 1st class lounge at King Cross in London without having used an LNER train? Their website says that All Line Rovers give access to their lounges, but I am not sure if an Interail pass is treated the same as that? Thanks

Inbound and outbound journey by nighttrain

Hello,The interrail rules are saying that I only have to use one in- or outbound journey when I travel by night train. The date of departure is the evening when the night train departs. Does the in- or outbound journey still counts when I take, after the night train, other trains during the day of arrival by night train? For example: I leave on Saturday evening and arrive on Sunday morning by night train. On Sunday I travel further with other trains. Does those other trains still count as the inbound journey? Thank you for answering!Kristoff

Due to a strike of National Rail in United Kingdom, trains can be cancelled or delayed at 21, 23 and 25 June. If also Eurostar is affected is not known at the moment. Railway workers to strike over three days in June - BBC News

Boarding a train without reservation being required

Hi just wondering if you have a trip on one day with  multiple train changes and only some sections of that trip require a seat reservation my question is - do you just hope that there are seats on the trains for the other sections that don’t require seat reservations? Thanks for your help.

Seat reservation Bratislava - Warsaw not possible

Hello!We have a problem with booking our seats for the Bratislava-Warsaw train. The website seems to be broken, we can't book them on there. We've also been to the train station but they said there are some technical difficulties. The train is tommorow and despite trying many times we can't book the seats. And it's required for that train. What do we do in this situation? Can we just hop on the train without the reservation and hope that the conductor will be understanding?thanks in advance :]

What documents do I need to complete for travel?

I am travelling to France, Italy and Greece (with a short changeover in Switzerland) and have been using the Gov.uk website to check the entry requirements of my destinations and which documents and forms I need to have for travel. Italy and Greece seem to have minimal entry requirements whereas France seems to require a health pass and an EUPLF. The health pass is fulfilled with proof of covid vaccination which I can provide. But I am still confused about the PLF, do I need to fill it out if I am travelling by train because information on some websites suggests it’s only required for air travel but I have found other websites saying it is needed for all travel? I’m also not certain on whether I need to complete it right now, or if I would get the chance to fill it out as and when it’s required.Can somebody help me figure out what the requirements are please?! (and if there are any other forms for me to fill out prior to travelling to ensure a smooth crossing then please let me know!)T

I see I don’t have a lot of choices to go through Paris by train when using the global pass. I live in Swiss and I am going to spend a week in France. My question is which train is allowed me to get in? I don’t really know the train network in France.Thank you

We cannot find night trains to any destination. e.g. from Milano to Paris, from Paris to Amsterdam Has anyone traveled generally by night trains? If yes, which was your destination?
