Hi there, I have a global interrail pass and am wondering about my outbound/inbound journeys, where my country of residence is UK.The 5th of April is my outbound/first date of travel.I have a reservation to go from London to Paris on the 5th of April, but I live in Glasgow and so have to book a ticket first from Glasgow to London on the same day. Will both journeys be valid as my outbound travel day, or can only 1 journey be used on the outbound? thanks, hope i haven’t worded that too confusingly?! Peter
Hello everyone, I have a question about my journeys. I have browsed through the forum and I am only getting more confused - so I am putting my question here hoping for some help! I live and study in Switzerland, and I need to take a specific course on Thursday in Paris. So I plan on leaving and returning to Switzerland on the same day. I have bought a global pass, and my current travel plan is: (123 morning 456 afternoon)Zürich to Basel Basel to Strasbourg Strasbourg to Paris Est Paris Est to Strasbourg Strasbourg to Basel Basel to ZürichAgain these all take places in one day! I wonder if my global pass could cover the Zürich-Basel part and Basel-Zürich part? On my app I have selected these yet no outbound and inbound journeys were used so I am quite confused. I am well aware of the Lyria option but I have already purchased above tickets for the following weeks. Any help would be appreciated! best,Askr
Managed to use my pass on the train from Nis to Beograd- conductor scanned the pass no problem even with the journey manually added. Just tried to get the train from Beograd Centar to Novi Sad. Asked at the ticket office in Beograd, "can we use our pass on the 10am train and do we need seat reservations?". After several people in the ticket office we consulted, "we do not know. Ask on the train!". Went to the train doors and asked the lady there, she looked at our pass and the manually added train info and let us on. 10 mins later the ticket inspector comes and refuses to accept our pass and says we need a barcode. She cannot explain how or where we get one from. Anyone know what we should be doing or where we have gone wrong? Many thanks!

Sorry for asking, but I am still not clear about outbound/ inbound journey. I plan to travel from Lindau (Germany) to Stockholm (Sweden) as my outbound journey. The connection I would take is a day train and a night train from Hamburg to Stockholm. My concern is that I will leave Germany by this night train after midnight, which means I will be travelling two days to get out of Germany. As I read in other questions this trip is then counted as outbound AND inbound journey right? Are there any advises to work around this issue (except booking an earlier train)? Thanks for your help!!
Hi, I recently bought a Global Pass for two months in a sales action, where you could buy it for half the price. I want to cancel this Pass and went the usual way for cancellation but I could not get far. I can’t find any info on whether my “Sales”-Pass is refundable. Can you help me? Thanks, Jakob
Confused about the use of trips. I have a 2 month pass and have created a trip which I intend to share with my wife. However, I intend to make another shorter trip independently; the app has a + feature for multiple trips, but will not allow me to connect the new trip to my pass ( only option is connect to paper pass?). What is going on? Can I create and connect multiple trips in app or not?
Hi everyone! I am from Indonesia. 3 of us (incl a 16 yo child) will visit Europe next June-July, for around 3 weeks. The trip will be start from Italy (Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Milan, Cinque Terre), all the way to Switzerland (we do not know yet which cities will be visitied, but most probably Lugano, Lucerne, Interlaken), Germany (Munich, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin), and Austria (Innsbruck, Salzburg). We will be flying home from Munich. So, here are my questions:Is it better for us to have Eurorail Global Pass for the entire trip or selected days only (flexible pass) or just go with buying individual train ticket on the spot/website? Because there will be several days we spend in one country only, for example 5-6 nights in Italy. Just now I checked the ticket for OBB Nightjet, the rate for adding discount as Eurorail holder and no discount is the same. I wonder why. We plan to have overnight train from Innsbruck/Munich to Hamburg. If I just make the train res
Hello!I am a Scot with a budget of £3000 GBP prepared for a 2 month trip this coming summer starting in June (this is after buying the pass). Would this be enough? For context - I go through Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest which I know are pricy but I will be spending most of my time throughout Romania, Bulgaria and the Balkans.Any information would be helpful in helping me get the most out of this, thanks!
Hi everyone, I’ve searched through the interrail website and forums, but am a little confused about how to make this work.It seems like when you activate a pass, you can only use it for a single trip? But you can make additions to that trip once it’s been activated??Here is my situation - I have a 2 month/15day pass, that I haven’t activated yet. I’m planning to travel around for a week in April (Spain and France), return home to London for a month, and then head back out around Germany/Hungary etc. to complete the rest of my pass. For planning purposes, I’ve been considering these as two seperate trips. I’m nearly done planning my route for the Spain/France trip, but hadn’t started thinking about the later one just yet. I was expecting to plan that once I returned from the first ‘leg’.Once I activate the pass for travelling in Spain, I’m concerned I won’t be able to then add the 2nd part of my trip later, even though the pass will still be valid and in-date. I don’t want to end up usi
I recently bought 8 passes in 2 separate orders and I have 2 trips in my account in the interrail.eu website (that were created automatically). (I am NOT using the Rail Planner app) What I want is to merge those 2 trips into 1 so that I can have all 8 travelers in one trip.I tried to do that by adding travelers to one of the trips, but I always get the error “Your Pass cover number doesn't look right”. I have tried there the pass cover number I see on the back of my pass cover, which starts “I” followed by 8 digits. I also tried the order number that starts with “IN”. Both have failed with the same error. My question is: How can I add all the travelers to 1 trip in your website? Can it be that 1 traveler can only be in one trip? For solving this I tried deleting one of the trips but the website does not let me do that :( Can someone help me achieve what I need? Thank you in advance.
Hi, I've been traveling in Europe for about 2 weeks now with a 3 Months Eurail global mobile pass, everything worked fine until last night. I was trying to search for a journey in the rail plannner, but after entering the stations the app keeps getting stuck loading loading the schedule. I am thus currently unable to add any trips or obtain the ticket QR-code. I've tried the following: (a) Using the app both online and offline, both with and without location services enabled(b) force stop the app and clear the cache( c) restart the device(d) Searching for the train journeys under “stations" (this wont even attempt to load anything). All of this produces the same error. My next step would be to clear the app data and/or reinstall the app, but as far as I understand this will remove the pass from the phone entirely. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I would also have no problem adding my journeys manually, but I haven't found any way to do this without the schedule loading. I'v
We have global flexi passes. 4 days in 1 month. We will use 2 days to get to our destination and 1 day to get home. These are planned and saved in My Trip and added to My Pass (mobile) but not activated. We would like to use the remaining day for a trip out from our destination. We know the route of the journey but have not chosen the day. FAQ says Can I switch or cancel a travel day?You can cancel your travel day any time before the start of that day (00:00 CET). Go to My Pass, choose the travel day you want to cancel and tap ‘Cancel travel day’.But does not say how to change the travel day.
HI everyone,I am taking my kids to Europe this summer and am trying to figure out whether to get the 10 day or 15 day pass. We will be starting in Spain and heading north. We plan to stay in Madrid for 8 days, and I would like to take day trips to some of the nearby smaller towns. I’m wondering, in your experience, whether it would be better to buy the 15 day pass and use those extra days for those day trips or if I should just buy the local fares and stick to the 10 day pass. Everywhere else we travel, we will be with family or friends so train travel is only needed to get us to those next destinations, not travel in and around the other cities. Thanks so much for your help!
Saludos,
We activated phone eurail app using my ID but it doesn’t show my wife who is on the same ticket ? So she activated app on her phone with her ID and created trip reservations but it doesn’t show me. We purchased eurail ticket together, which shows both of us on the purchase receipt with separate ID. We cannot reach anyone with eurail to explain this… Thank you
My country of origin is Poland and on 13 of August. I'm going to take outbound journey from Warsaw. I bought a seats reservation for a direct train from Warsaw to Berlin. However outbound journey covers travel from my city of origin to a border. How should I fill my travel journal in this case. Last stop in Poland is Rzepin. Should I fill it in as Warsaw - Rzepin and this is my outbound trip? And than first stop in Germany is Frankfurt (Oder). Should the first trip of my first day of actual Intrerrail Pass is Frankfurt to Berlin? How should I cover border crossing from Rzepin to Frankfurt (Oder)?
Is the low-cost plane model is coming to a railway near you, to compete with or even replace National operatorsThere are now 2 new competitors to Renfe on main routes in Spain, part operated by Trenitalia and SNCF.SNCF now operate some TGV routes as Second Class only Ouigo brand ( via a shell company I believe).I have read of some trains in Czech Rep (I think) operated by Arriva. Most of us will have seen Italo trains in Italy. And so on…..Many of these are outside the pass network .and offer low cost fares. Many of these are owned at least in part by national operators (SNCF even operate in France as a competitor to itself). Most, if not all, of these do have alternatives in the pass network, but is that enough to keep us interrailing? For Newbies this will cause even more confusion, getting worse not better. For regular interrailers, particularly those who like to go in a free from schedule way, is it an issue that you are finding causes you problems.Or is pay as you go rather than interra
I need help badly as I'm travelling soon. I have a Flexi pass giving me four days' travel. I've made all reservations successfully and loaded the first two days' journeys onto the pass. But the next two days simply will not load. They show under My Trips but will not link with the pass. There is one page of the app which is supposed to let you link with a pass but it only allowed paper passes. There are no error messages showing. I've tried messaging and Facebook - no reply. The phone number given in the app is ‘unobtainable', travel time gets ever closer and I'm desperate. Please could someone help thanks.
Hi,We bought the 7 day pass on a bit of a whim and are now thinking over logistics. Considering possible taking it down to a 4 day trip instead with us paying some tickets ourselves We are travelling with an 8 and 10 year old and coming from Glasgow. My initial idea was Glasgow - London - Paris on day one but it’s going to be quite a long day so I’m trying to think of alternatives but not sure I can or if I’m picking up the pass rules correctly. I’ve put in bold the days I’m questioning:Idea 1 - reducing down to 4 day pass:Day 1: Glasgow to London and stop over for a night Get the Eurostar (we would pay the Eurostar trip as it’s not much more than the seat reservations would be anyway). Day 2: Paris to Black Forest Day 3: Black Forest to Paris Eurostar home to London where we would stay a night or so Day 4: London to GlasgowIdea 2 - keeping 7 day pass:Day 1: Glasgow to London and stop over for a night Day 2: Get the Eurostar to Paris Day 3: Paris to Black Forest Day 4: A stop somew
I'm inexperienced and would like some information that I didn't find in previous questions. Two weeks ago I saw the prices of a Global pass 3 trips in a month for 110€.Now I want to buy and this pass no longer exists!!!! am i wrong or did i see wrong? Our idea (my son and I) to go from Koblenz (Germany) to Pisa, stay 4 days and return to Koblenz. Then, until the end of the month, take a trip to Belgium and return on the same day, so I thought I would use the 3-day pass for €110My passport is Italian, my son's is German. As the pass no longer exists in the offers, we made a plan through the website and the round trip price (only 2 trips) was more than €370 !!!What am I doing wrong and how do I do it right? What we thought that each day of travel did not change the price of the ticket, is it false?Thank you very much.Roberto
