Puglia FSE Routes In Network or Not?

FSE seems to be owned by/just a regional division of Trenitalia and using trenit app or Trenitalia web site the (many) regional trains and stations in Puglia appear (as do a lot of busses!) but these stations and trains don't appear in railplanner app. Does this mean we have to buy tickets for these routes and can't use our eurail passes?

Help with route planning please - UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy

Hi all,  I have a global pass to explore Europe this summer and I am struggling to nail down my route, hoping you can help! I am currently looking to travel from the UK into Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Portugal (through Pontevedra & Vigo) but I then want to get back to the South of France, onward to Italy. Currently this feels quite clunky as I’d be going ‘back on myself’ ie. from Portugal via train, I would need to back through Pontevedra & Vigo to get to Madrid, Barcelona and then to Marseille / Nice. If I can, I’d like to avoid flights due to needing to check luggage in which drives the price through the roof! Hoping someone with a bit more geography sense (or just...sense) can point me in the right direction ;) Thanks in advance!

Interrail Planner in Greece

The planner on the app doesn’t have any Greek trains as far as I can see - where’s the best place to see the timetable, and are reservations needed for any Greek trains?  also, are there replacement buses over the Greek-North Macedonia border?

Itinerary recommendations - Scandinavia

Hello all,Hoping to get some recommendations on the best routes for “efficiency”I am planning a 2 week trip from Paris to Prague, middle of July, focusing on Scandinavia.I don’t mind long train rides, even almost everyday - trying to hit most of the highlights.Will have time for some hikes I hope - which should I not miss (in Norway, I imagine)?How far in advance do I need to make reservations? Is 1st and 2nd class reservations the same price? Is there more availability in 1st class? (I am contemplating getting the 1st class pass)Can I count on wifi working on all trains?

travel from Zermatt to Milan in June

we are looking to travel from Zermatt to Milan on 12th June 2024 and I understand that the direct line between Domodossola and Milan will be closed during that time and there will be replacement buses. Where can I find the timetable for these buses and buy tickets? We have Eurail global pass will this cover the bus as well? TIA!

Stockholm to Narvik questions

Hello,I know I am not the only one waiting for the reservations to open for the SJ94 train from Stockholm to Narvik, even with a change at Boden and Bjørkliden.I checked just now on sj.se : what is open is only a departure today and tomorrow. Starting the 22th, it says “Not available” but between 16th and 21th of May, it says “We didn’t find any matching departures”.Is this due to the derailment ? I thought that the train ran daily (even with the Boden connection). Does it ?I plan to travel at the very beginning of July. My final destination is Tromsø. I am looking for an alternative route in case I could not get a ticket through Narvik (and I feel I will know that only a few days before). Do you know if it is easy to travel from Stockholm to Trondheim without a reservation (local trains ?), or with a last minute reservation ? Same question for Trondheim-Bodø even with a seat in the night train.Thank you for any other route suggestion.

I only find routes with a lot of change and too less time between I worry to not make the connections.  i found a sleeper train from Toulouse to Paris is there a sleeper one from Paris to Hamburg?  Thanks you for your help 🙏 safe travels

Where to go

I’m planning a summer (July & August) interrailing trip. So far we have Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Prague, Krakow, Vienna, Budapest and then we wanted to visit Split, Ljubljana and maybe Venice. Split seems quite hard to get to and from. We don’t mind visiting Zagreb but would we have to do this on the way there and back? Is there a sleeper train from Budapest to Split? How would you suggest we visit these places and is there anywhere else we should visit nearby?

Help - How many Days to stay in Cities?

Hey, I’m traveling first time SOLO Interrail this Summer for about 1,5-2Months. I want to see as much as possible I have an apporiximate route. Zurich(2) - Nice(2) (+Monaco(1)) - Madrid(3) - Lisbon(4) - Porto(3) - Paris(4) (I’ve read about the Olympics already, maybe an alternative?) - Bruxelles(4) - Amsterdam(4) - Hamburg(3) Berlin(5) Prague(2) Bratislava(1) Budapest(2). The days I planned so far I wrote in the ().But I’m just not quite sure how much days to plan in for each city.. Could you help me plan my Route? I would also love to hear of some very nice cities to visit too:)

London to Amsterdam no trains Saturday 30 November 2024

Hi,I just tried to find a Eurostar from London to Amsterdam on November 30th and it says “no trains found” and the dates are not showing up at all as having services.  Before I go and look for flights, just wondering if anyone knows whether there will be trains showing later or if there is a service disruption on that date? Thank you!

Advice Croatia

Hello, i want to travel with the EC from (Salburg-)Villach to Zagreb and maybe a little bit more around at Croatia. Croatian trains doesn’t have the best reputation for being on time. Does anybody have some experiences on that or any advices for routes at Croatia?

How many trips on one day

Hi everyone,I’m planning to buy a One Country Pass for Switzerland, probably 3 days in one month.Is it possible to have serveral voyage segments within 1 day? I mean can I do as many trips on 1 day as I want? Or does 1 travel only inlcude one journey or trip per day?Example:Going from Zurich to Chur to Luzern and back to Zurich on one day - is this allowed within a 1 travel day?Or is it only allowed to have 1 direct trip/voyage segment per day, e. g. I am going to start with some interesting offers:Swiss Museum Pass, valid for one year, unlimited visits of museums and some castles (500+ attractions) for 166 CHF per year. If you have a Halffare-Card or GA even cheaper Dutch Museum Pass, valid for one year, when buying a preliminary one (direct in the museum) you can only visit 5 museums at once. Only after you get the plastic card you can visit unlimited one. Price 64,9 Euro + some administration fee for delivery (around 3 euro). They also deliver abroad. Paris to Athens

Hey all. I need to get from Paris to Athens in about ten days in June. Most of the other topics here detailed that it could be difficult to move around by train in those countries south of Croatia. I’d love to see Switzerland but that’s really my only true hard set desire in this trip. I was curious, as a first timer, to see what you all think on how you all think i could make this trip happen best in terms of ease in travel and access, as well as somewhat cheaper locations for this trip. (Yes, I know Switzerland doesn’t fall on the cheap side of things.) Thanks!

Help wanted into route for vacation (Netherlands - France - Italy)

Hi,Me and my girlfriend have interrail second class global passes and we would want to travel from the Netherlands to Lyon and then towards Bologna and then back from Venice to the Netherlands.On the 25th of July we would want to travel from the Netherlands (Starting station does not matter as we know how we get there :) ) to LyonThen on the 28th of July we would like to go from Lyon to Bologna At last on the 12th of august we would like to go from Venice back to the Netherlands (Between bologna and Venice we travel by car)I did some research on a good route, but trains I chose were now not available anymore, e.g. the TGV 9830 from Bruxelles-midi to Lyon and the route from Geneva to Bologna with EC 39. I am really stunned about this as these options were without many train changes and were relatively cheap. (40 euros in total for both)Therefore I am wondering if someone with experience could maybe help me with a route without many train changes and relatively cheap seat reservations. W

Tips for stops between UK and Austria

HiWe are hoping to travel from UK to Austria in August and would like to stop off somewhere on the way there and somewhere else on the way back, to break up the journey. Probably 2-3 nights in each place. We have previously visited Paris, Brussels and Köln. Any suggestions for good places en route to spend a couple of days? We are a family of 4 with 2 children age 12 and 15.Considering possibly Strasbourg, Lille, Bruges or Frankfurt, but also open to other suggestions.Thanks

Celebrating 25-Year Wedding Anniversary in 2025 - France and Italy

Aloha from Hawaii - Eurail Community, My husband and I honeymooned in Europe following our wedding in June 2000. We will be married 25 years next June, and plan to return to Europe, now with our teenage children (they will be 13 and 16 next year).The first time around, we visited Paris, Rome and Venice.This time around, Iʻd love to spend more time exploring France via Eurail, and then weʻre doing a Mediterranean Cruise from either Rome or Venice (still researching).May I please ask for your recommendations on what cities our family should consider visiting as we make our way between Paris and Rome and/or Venice? Any itinerary suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Perhaps of note: My husband does have challenges walking great distances, so weʻre really hoping to enjoy the beauty and cuisine of France in a leisurely way, not any vigorous hiking/exploring, if at all possible. :-)Thank you for your kindness and suggestions. Lyon to Milan

The landslide at Maurienne last August which blocked the line between Paris and Milan has forced me to be more creative in my travel plans to Italy.  I am now very much looking forward to my journey through Switzerland this September.  However it would be quite nice if it was to possible take a direct train from Lyon to Milan when I return to Italy at Christmas.  (I am aware of the bus replacement service circumventing the landslide, but that does not appeal!)I keep searching the internet for any information giving a progress report on the work being done to clear the landslide but have not found anything later than statements made around January 2024.   Has anyone found any more current information about how the work is going, or seen any up to date predictions about when the line might reopen at Maurienne?Peter

15 day Interrail journey WITH KIDS! 😊

Hello, Just looking for some general advice on the Interail trip that we're planning this May/June. Particularly any advice that would help us do the journey with a 8&10 year old. We've booked the big legs but if anyone thinks it wouldn't work or we are planning too much we'd love the advice. Day 1 - London to Paris (booked)Day 2 - Paris - Chur (need to book) 2 nights in Chur. Anyone have any tips on accommodation? We are looking forward to the cable car up the mountain! Day 4 - Bernina Express (booked) then Turino to Milan. Any advice on accommodation in Milan for a quick overnight?Day 5 - 8 - from Milan we want to travel somewhere near Pisa for some sightseeing.
