When looking at a route form Florence SMN to Bologna there are two options for Bologna train station (Bologna city and Bologna centrale). Are these the same or different because when I put in the exact same route, the arrivals time at Bologna city is 25 ish minutes before Bologna centrale. If I want to be in the city centre, is Bologna central the correct station to arrive at?

Je n'arrive pas à réserver un compartiment couchette dans le train de nuit direct qui part de Paris le vendredi soir pour arriver à Vienne le lendemain matin. J'ai le même problème pour revenir (Vienne à Paris) fin août. Est-ce que ces trains ne sont pas encore ouvert à la réservation ? Hello,What is the recommended website (or alternative method?) to make reservations for train journeys within Italy?Would it be cheaper to do seat reservation at Italian train stations instead of pre-reserving online? Do they have Eurail quotas, so do we face the risk of not being able to reserve seats if we go to the station on the day?Travel period: Late June to mid JulyThe sectors we are going on the train within Italy are:Milan to Venice,Venice to Rome,Rome to Pompei,Naples to FlorenceDo the fast train between these cities always require seat reservations?

Hi There  Looking at a trip down to Florence (and back) from London taking in a few cities along the way mainly using Hotels and Airbnb. Route across France to Italy and back up though Switzerland and Belgium. Probably buying a month pass for each of us with 6-8 stops. Understand the principles of the card I think but confused by the actual booking of the trains. Every route I've looked at so far has said extra payment has to be made and just wondering what I'm buying the pass for 😕 Was I just unlucky or is that a fairly typical experience. Ideally I'd like to have all the trains booked up before we set off. Is that possible?  If anyone has done this sort of thing before and can give advice I'd be very grateful.  Thanks  Steve

I’m trying to travel through eastern Europe and have had trouble getting into and around Greece with interrail. There are no trains on the schedule from or to anywhere in Greece. Is this an error or is Greece no longer part of the interrail pass? Latvia also has the same problem which caused me to change my trip as I couldn’t get from Lithuania to Estonia.

Our Eurostar train has been cancelled for Tuesday 28th March.  We can't reschedule for that day online as their website is down and as it's the weekend, the Customer Helpline is closed. We have reservations. Can we deactivate this journey in our planner and rebook another train on that day via rail planner without loosing our reservation money (appreciate that we may have to have other seats).  We are desperate as we already have accomodation booked in Paris (non-refundable)

Hello train travelers,I wanted to make seat reservations for the direct train from Brussels Midi to Lyon Part Dieu on June 16 at 1-ish. However, I was told that this is not possible when I phoned the railway company.What is the best alternative? The railway app suggests traveling via Paris, but that connection doesn’t seem so good. Are there better routes?Thanks

Help! I bought a 1 month global family pass when my daughter was 11. We are travelling today! Sat on the train ready to depart. My daughter has had her 12th birthday and I can now not activate her pass. I am willing to pay to change to a youth ticket but can’t get a response from Eurrail!!! Has this happened to anyone before and did you get it resolved? 

On my route from Pisa to Milan, I’m planning on stopping off for a few hours in either Bologna and Verona or just going to Genova. Then, on my way to Salzburg from Milan, I either want to stop in Verona (providing I haven’t already done this) or Chiasso. I’ll only be in these places for 3 hrs max each so was wondering which ones are worth visiting. 

Hello!I am new to this forum and new to the European Rail System. I will be traveling with my husband and son to Europe in June for a month. I will have plenty of questions to come, but my first is this.  We have purchased Global Passes 1st class.  We arrive in Paris at 6:10am and need to go straight to Basel the same day.  When I look on the Rail Planner app, I cannot seem to find a train departing from Charles de Gaulle 2 - TGV, which as far as I can tell is where we need to leave from. Can anyone advise me if there is a train that will take us from the airport to Basel?Thanks so much for any help!Meghan

Hi, I’m completely new to using the Interrail Pass and already I’ve made a couple of fairly major blunders. Here is the latest: I have a Global 1st Class Pass on my phone (1 month). I planned to return to my home town of Newcastle in the UK from Antwerp (via Brussels) on 2nd May so I scheduled the trip in the Rail Planner and then applied for and received a seat reservation for that date. However, I have just noticed that somehow my Eurostar journey appears to be scheduled on my phone for the 1st May, and also at a later time of day (14.04) than the reservation on the 2nd May (12.56). How serious is all this, and can I do anything to change my travel day to 2nd May to fit in with the reservation I have paid for on the 2nd May?  

I added all my journeys into the app in My Trip a couple of weeks ago. When I went to check today all the journeys had disappeared? So frustrating and not sure how to retrieve them without adding them all again. Any ideas???Also when I look at the trains for Switzerland they are all coming up as “Not in Pass network”??? I have checked the app version and it updated 3 days ago. Does this mean I can no longer use the pass in Switzerland. Leaving in a few days and this is stressing me out. 

I just ordered a Eurail Global Pass but the start date is incorrect, May 23rd.  I will be arriving in London on May 4th & will start using the pass on the 8th.  I am concerned that I will not receive it before my departure date or will not be able to validate it before I start travelling.  I also tried to add seat reservations before making payment but was unable to.  Will I have to wait until I receive the pass or until it has been processed to do so?  I would like to make reservations as soon as possible because I understand that seats for passholders are limited on Eurostar and Thalys trains.

HI All, my wife and I are traveling in May (not the first time but the first time with the moble pass). Our flight lands in Frankfrutt at 7:30am and allowing for the usual customs and baggage retrieval (last year it took us only 30 minutes!) we would like to hop on the train to Bern around 9:00 or 9:30. BUT I want to adjust for the unexpected (pilots are late arriving at the airport, etc). IF I’ve already put an 11:00am journey into the TRIP, but we can catch an earlier train, what do I do? Or does it matter since we’re basically using one day?Thanks!!!!Scott

Hi all, thanks for answering my previous questions. I won’t have any trouble with most reservations but I am with ITALY. Both OBB and the Trenitalia sites will not sell a seat reservation for May 29th Florence to Lugano (usually via Bologna or Milan). The OBB site (regardless of date) says NO TICKET and yet if I want to BUY one there are tickets for sale. Please help me figure out how to get such a simple thing like an Italian train seat reservation. Germany and France are easy! Many thanks!Scott

Sorry for my ignorance but I’m knew to the mobile app version of Eurail. I made a reservation online with OBB for a segment from Florence to Milan--my wife and I have a first class railpass (10 days in 2 months). The OBB price for a seat reservation was something like 20 Euros--but it asked if I wanted to upgrade to 1st class for an extra 4 euros, so I clicked it. How does DB or OBB of SBB know what class my pass is good for? Many thanks for any answers,Scott
