Get ready to travel

Hi, m currently on  night train from Paris that was due to terminate at Nice. Due to an accident it is 2h delayed and terminating early at Marseille. We were due to travel from Nice to Genoa today but will now miss our original connections. How do we ensure onward travel to Nice (and Genoa) without extra cost? Is there any compensation for the delay/not arriving at the intended destination? Using the 5 days in 1 month pass. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions!Jordan

Hello!My trip is gonna start very soon, in a week and I'm still not very sure about how does the app work. When I want to take a train that doesn't require any reservation, all I need to do is to add it to my pass and when the time comes, to show the QR code to the conductor. Right?What I'm supposed to do when I have booked an reservation for a train that required it? What I should do then? What do I need to show to the conductor? Except the tickets, is there anything else I need to show to the conductor? Thanks!

Hello.I am based in Manchester, England and we are travelling using the eurostar to Paris and back through Brussels using the eurostar once we have finished our 1 month trip.I understand the pass includes in INBOUND & 1 OUTBOUND journey from the UK what is not clear is does this include trains from Manchester aswell as the eurostar which will be taking us out of the UK to Paris?For example to get to Manchester to the eurostar it is 2 trains THEN the eurostar & the same on the return to the UK.Will my ticket be valid for these journeys before the eurostar or will I need to but separately directly from Avanti?Thanks.

Dear forum,In the beginning of August I plan to go from germany (preferably Braunschweig) to Riga in Latvia with the mobile eurail global pass. However, I do not find Riga as station listed in the New version of the app. It seems that this is a common problem as the Baltic companies do not fully cooperate with the creators of the app in supplying their time schedules. Some previous notes say that one is supposed to manually add train connections to the app. However, I do not find a way to do that in the newest version of the app, as one simply is not able to chose a destination. Hi, I am a Belgian national living in the UK as a student. I understand that to prove my UK residence I need "an official residence document issued by the government. This must be a document that clearly proves that the Customer is registered in the country where they live." But I can't seem to find any way to get this kind of document from UK authorities. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have started loading “My Trip” on my mobile phone but would like to be able to do it on the computer as it is easier. Can this be done and if so, how? How do I share “My Trip” with my partner on their mobile phone?

I've been travelling quite a lot over the past few months, getting good value out of my 3-month continuous pass :)Finally I've now also caught up with the posts in the Interrail community, as some of you might have noticed. Additionally, I've been taking notes about things in the app that are not quite right or misleading and that's what this post is about. Some of the notes are already older, from a previous trip with a mobile flexi pass; I could not re-check all of them (I don't have a valid Interrail at this time) and they may have been fixed in the mean time.So here goes, in no particular order...The app said an internet connection is needed to activate a day on a flexi pass ("Add to pass" for the first journey of the day), although the phone had been online only half a day earlier. The mobile pass FAQ does not mention any other requirement than being online at least once every 3 days. If for certain actions an internet connection is needed, then please

I started travelling today with the interrail mobile app. Although I managed to get it all up and running for the first two legs of the trip, I am having critical issues with the app right now. The problem is that the rail planner does not work anymore: each time I select a departure or destination, the planner resets again so it is impossible to add a new leg to my trip. The FAQ states that it is also possible to add journeys manually, but this option seems to be missing in the app I have (version 19.0.0 om android 10). So in essence it is downright impossible to add any journeys to my pass and thus to get a valid ticket, so I cannot travel any further. How can this be fixed?I also contacted the support via email, but they say they will only answer within 7 days, which I think is pretty long if you are stranded with an app that is not working.

We ned an extra outbound day to go from Gothenburg to Narvik. We are leaving Gothenburg at 17.24 at the 23 of July and will arrive in Narvik at 17.42 at 24 of July. We have to change train in Stockholm and Boden. How do we do?

We had a trip planned on the 6th to go to from NL to Spain. On the 5th at 18:30 we get an email that the french rails are on strike the next day (our travel day) and we see that our train is canceled. Now it’s impossible for us to travel anymore because 3/5 trains were canceled and everything was fully booked everywhere.We went to the central station on the 6th very early in the morning to see if there’s any chance to get another connection but no success. We cancel the entire trip and we notice that we cannot deactivate the pass.The problem now is that we contacted interrail a bunch of times and after an initial reply from them they ghosted us. It’s been a week and no answer after multiple other attempts to reach them.This is really frustrating, we don’t want any sort of refund just a deactivation so that we can use the passes later. We never scanned our passes anywhere and everything is just going to waste.Any advice on how to proceed? 

hi everyone, hope everething goes fine. I bought my global pass yesterday and i realized that i only wrote my first last name because the other was too long, however ¿Is there a problem with that? i wrote my name and first lastname as my passport. could you guys can help me about this. Thanks a lot. 

Hi, does any one know if the app with generating tickets works on a iPad? I see the QR code, but it is quite big and want to know it does not give rise to troubles when conductors on the train need to check it. Thanks, mo

Hello,My partner and I are looking for a Greek island pass (6-day). Unfortunately, we didn’t buy the pass before we started traveling and are now unable to receive one as the shipping time is 1 month. We are currently in Italy (Milano) and were hoping to buy one here but they all seem very confused at the station. Is there anywhere in Italy that we can buy such pass? Hello all  We have starten our journey yesterday. We could not use our global pass because we took the night jet. This was not included. So our first journey is now but the pass says it is our second trip We bought the pass from july 9 thGreetz

We’ve been traveling on our two month global pass, and the time it nearing to get back home in Portugal. We are currently in Bordeaux, France. We went to the station to make reservations for a trip back to Portugal next week, and the agent tells us all the trains in and out of Madrid (we have to go through Madrid) are FULLY BOOKED ALL OF NEXT WEEK? He said maybe a bus or a flight is our best option.Has anyone else had this experience?

Hello,I took outbound/inbound Thalys tickets with interrail. Both have been cancelled by Thalys, and are to be exchanged or refunded according to Thalys, but Interrail refunds only 75% of the ticket.What is the procedure be refunded 100% of the ticket price ?Regards

Hi.  I’m booked on the Nightjet from Budapest to Zurich on October 8th at 20:40.  I received an email from ÖBB saying there was a timetable change due to construction but I can’t work out what the change is….was on hold with ÖBB for an hour today before finally getting an answerphone so that’s useless….can anyone help with what time this train actually leaves please!

hi, i am planning an upcoming trip and have some basic questionsFor the longer trips, e.g. Como to Venice and Verona to Munich, does it make sense to buy the tickets ahead? not sure if prices will go up nearing to my travels in Dec for short trips like Milan to Como, Venice to Verona, do i also have to buy the ticks like now? or can i wait till closer to the travelling dates?am not in EU, so not so sure about ticket prices movementsand am travelling with 2 kids, so with COVID and all, just wanted to make sure there are certainty before i go ahead with these bookingsany advice pertaining to this will be much appreciated

My partner and I are currently stuck in Cologne. Our connecting train to Brussels that would bring us to London has been cancelled.  Further, we didn’t realize we couldn’t buy a seat reservation from Brussels to London day-of. Not that it matters anymore now. We’re considering getting the 12:42 PM from Cologne to Paris, Paris to London. Can we still get on the train without reservations? Sitting on the floor is fine with us. 

Hello,I am planning on buying unlimited Global pass for 3 mths for me my 14 and 9 yrs old children.How do I activate it for all and make reservations? Are there 3 separated accounts? Do I have to register for everyone every trip we make even if pass is unlimited in trips?I am polish but live in Luxembourg (I do not have lux ID but polish passport so as my kids) which one will be our place of residence? We are starting with Scandinavia- are the ferries from Copenhagen to Oslo and Stockholm to Helsinki and Helsinki to Tallin included in the pass?Tha app is not always showing all and I am confused.Is it better to have maybe paper pass than the app?Regards Renata 

Hi, I bought train tickets for 1. Venezia to Firenze, 2. Firenze to Roma, 3. Roma to Wien, and 4. Amsterdam to London. I bought them yesterday and received your confirmation email containing only the tickets for the first three trips, I wondered if my last trip (Amsterdam to London) will be generated and sent to me today. I also tried to login into my Eurail account, all tickets except Amsterdam to London could be downloaded.

Hi, like everybody else, I have been having hard time finding a seat on any dates - it says prices unavailable and I should go to a ticketing office. What’s the chance of being able to secure a seat at a ticketing office at station? Is it more likely to secure than booking online? Also Do I have to buy at a full price then instead of pass holder price?I was planning to go to Paris then all the way down to Madrid with my global pass. I appreciate your advice!

Hello,I plan to travel tomorrow and have booked trains and seat reservations but have not activated my pass yet, thinking that it would be possible shortly before the trip.However, the eurail website and I assume the app’s servers are down (at least for me) and I can’t access my account on the website nor can I actually activate my pass in step 3 with my ID. When I enter my ID’s Document no. it gives me a pop-up saying “Something went wrong” and that I should try again or contact customer service.I did contact customer service, but they have not yet replied and I’m afraid I’ll be stuck with a deactive pass on the day of my travel. Please, help! I don’t know who to ask anymore as I couldn’t find a hotline or even an e-mail. Edit: I tried to re-install the rail planner app and can’t even add the pass again. It gives me the same error.
