2019 Interrail trip to Europe Since my first Interrail in 1975 my love for Europe and train travel had never faded. I had repeated the experience on another six occasions. It had always been my intention to do another Interrail once I had retired and revisit places from the 1975 trip and some destinations of other past Interrail trips.. While my itinerary would include places where I had family holidays, it would also include new experiences. There were still a number of places I had not visited that were part of my school boy travel dream. Barcelona and the Matterhorn, to name a few. Of course, the world had changed in a significant way in comparison to 1975, and it would be fair to say I had changed as well- 64 not 20. One major change was of course the Internet. Also I had more resources now to invest in a more comfortable and longer Interrail in 2019. Preparation At home, in December 2018 when I started planning my 2019 trip I knew it was going to be vastly different to my experien
Hello,I want to travel from Madrid to Bordeaux. I found good train from Madrid to Irún (Spanish border) and from Hendaye (french border) to Bordeaux.Irun and Hendaye train stations are like 3 km apart. Is there no train between them? Or busses? The only trains I found on rome2rio are badly timed.Any experience about this? When you search Madrid-Bordeaux it suggests you via Barcelona/ Narbonne. That's a huge detour.Thank you!
Hello,On the Eurail / Interrail Rail Planner app, Frankfurt-Niederrad station is treated the same as Frankfurt central station (Frankfurt(Main)Hbf), which is very inconvenient. Try planner search the “from Frankfurt Airport to Frankfurt Central”. Frankfurt-Niederrad station is certainly close to central station, but it's a completely different station.I hope for improvement.Thank you.
I have a 15day/2month Global Pass and I am traveling from Munich to Innsbruck. On the planner it is saying "Conditions Apply."Question... 1) What does this mean, 2) Is it something I need to worry about on this particular trip since I have a 15day/2month Global Pass 3) and if it is something to worry about it, how I avoid or correct this?Thank you in advance
I had a plan to travel up north from Madrid, Spain to Paris, France, but when I look up the date I want to travel, only options are to go east towards NARBONNE (France), TOULOUSE MATABIAU (France), then BORDEAUX ST JEAN (France). is this the only way to go to Paris?
So with a lot of effort we made it to Athens, taking the bucharest sofia and a bus to thessaloniki route. Now we have enjoyed greece and want to slowly return home (Netherlands). I just don't see an effective/cheap/interrailly way of leaving here. Does anyone have some tips? Maybe an effective way of reaching croatia so we are back in railwayland?
Planning on traveling in the UK (9/14/2022) from London to Liverpool, around Yorkshire, over to Ireland and then back going along the Southwest coast to Penzance (for a play at the Minack on 9/29/2022) then finally back to London. (If we have time we’ll shoot over to Amsterdam for a couple days at the end of our trip.) Will our Global Europass be sufficient or do we need a Britrail pass as well? Hoping not to have to buy both. I have tried mapping it on line and Penzance does not even come up as a choice. Also hoping to use the ferry to Ireland but not sure if I can with the Eurail global pass. Any help would be appreciated. We’re getting close to our departure time. Thanks.
Hi everyone!I know, that there had been lots of questions about traveling thorough Baltic area. But still I want to ask you again. Is there any possibility, that we can somehow combine train and bus to travel from Riga to Vilnius? We really need to plan this route so any advice would help us.Thanks a lot!Anet
Hi. I want to book the nightjet from Paris to Salzburg for July but it isn't showing compartments and when I emailed they said I would just have to keep checking website for when the compartments go live. Anyone else had this before? Really worried about missing out and it messing up our whole plan for the holiday. Thanks
Hi all,New to this website, so sorry if this is not the right place for this.Myself and my partner are currently at beginning stages of planning an interrailing trip for June 2023. We’ll be in Barcelona at the start of the month - but ideally some of the other countries we’d like to visit are Croatia, Austria and Switzerland. Our rough plan at the moment is to fly from Barcelona to Budapest. Then take trains from Budapest to Split, then back up to Zagreb - onto Vienna and then Zurich. We are thinking of purchasing the 5 Day in 1 Month pass - hoping that this will cover us. We are just looking for general advice really. Does this route seem doable to people? Have people done anything similar? We are cautions that this will involve a lot of night trains - are these harder to reserve? Any tips or suggestions would be great :)
Hello again!A friend of mine wants to travel from Spain back to Austria(Linz). They are currently in Granada and their last day is the 2nd of August. They don’t want to travel to France because it’s “ too expensive” for them. But the seat reservations from Spain back to Austria would also cost 60-80€ and would take them about 24 hours.Does anybody know a good( and affordable) route back to Austria with different stops maybe?:)
Hi, I am looking for some advice on travelling between Beograd and Zagreb. I am aware the line is currently shut but is there any buses that run from Beograd/Novi Sad to a bordering town/city i.e. Osijek, Vinkovci? Also, has anyone had any recent experience of travelling between Sofia and Beograd? Looks like it can be done via Nis with the aid of a bus from Dimitrovgrad. Thanks for the help.
