Eurail global pass and Swiss Travel Pass

Hi, I was wondering if it’s worth me buying the Swiss Travel Pass as I already plan to buy the EUrail global pass. My travel plans are:Copenhagen - Stockholm - Kiruna - Narvik - (fly from Tromso) London - Paris - Interlaken - Zermatt (Glacier Express) - Milan (will day trip from Milan to Lake Como or some else) - Rome then flying home.I will be staying in Interlaken. My days will look something like:Mount Rigi, Gratweg Stoos if it’s open (it will be early January), Lucerne Grindelwald First, walking around to Lake Bachalpsee, Iseltwald I’m still deciding which villages, but mainly Mannlichen, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Grimmelwald, Wengen. Is it worth me buying a Swiss Travel Pass for 3 days if I already have the EUrail global pass for 7 days in 1 month if this is what my itinerary will look like? Or should I go for the other Swiss travel pass options like the Half Fare? My hotel will also give me a travel card? I’m not entirely sure what that’ll include either. Any advice is appreciated,

Problem with seat reservation from vienna to bucharest.

Hello,I am trying to book a seat reservation from Vienna to Bucharest but when i try through the Interrail website it says that seat reservations are required, but it isn’t giving me an option to book. And also on the bottom it says i have 4 free seat reservations left. What can i do to book a seat on this train?Thank you in advance

Travel issues with the Serbian border

Hello In July we want to travel to Montenegro with the train (interrail). We will be departing in Belgium. We heard from other people who wanted to travel to Montenegro in the past that they had some issues with travelling trough Serbia. Aparantly, Serbia is not letting everybody trough. I was wondering if we need a special pass to cross Serbia to reach Montenegro?  Kind regardsSimon De Corte

About reservations

I want to made a reservations on December 2, 2024 from 11:13 PM BASEL SBB (Switzerland) to 05:58AM KOELN HBF (Germany), even this train is shown no seat reservation requiredBut when I follow step to proceed payment. its got a error message as belowPart of your journey couldn't be bookedTry booking a different connection or check alternative ways to book your reservation.And then I found that the ticket type suddeney change from e-ticket to paper ticketLater, I refresh the browser, the train detail suddeny changed to Seat reservations requiredSo, do I need to made any reservation about this train?

RENFE reservation problem - only temporary?

Hello, I am trying to make a reservation for the RENFE AVE from Marseille to Madrid. On interrail.eu I get the message: Currently, reserving seats for journeys in Spain is only possible at Spanish train stations or by calling RENFE directly.And happyrail.com does not show me any options.I also talked to Deutsche Bahn customer service. They say that RENFE tickets can currently not be issued through Deutsche Bahn.Is this only a temporary problem? Can I hope reservation will be possible in a few days?Thanks, Thomas

Ljubljana to Sofia

Early days planning a trip early next summer. I've hit a problem in that I am trying to find a train from Ljubljana to Sofia. All the usual websites seem to be saying that isn't possible. I've also specified starting at other locations that I can get to such as Zagreb, Budapest but have the same problem. Help please

1 month Interrail via the website ÖBB

hey everyone,A week ago i have won a 500 euro ÖBB voucher from a competition.Now i have the plan to go after i made the high school exam on an interrail in europe.Does anyone know how i can get an intterrail via the ÖBB? I don't see it on the website of the ÖBB. Kind regards Jan van Deudekom.

Welcher Pass

Hey,ich möchte den Global Pass nächstes Jahr nutzen.Meine Route ist so: Von Hamburg nach Brüssel, dann nach Paris, von da aus nach Nizza, dann Genoa, dann Venedig, danach Wien und dann wieder zurück nach Hamburg Welchen Pass brauche ist jetzt genau, also für wie viele Tage? Danke schon im voraus:)

Is a Global Pass worth it? 3 Days in Chur

Hello, I am from Germany and would like to travel to Switzerland in April. The plan is for me to travel to Chur on the first day. On the second day I would like to take the Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano and back again. I will leave Chur on the third day. Is a Global Pass worth it? Or should I book each train ticket separately?

No reservations possible for Spain

Hello, unfortunately I have another question about reservations for trains in Spain: Currently I can't make any reservations via interrail.eu as well as happyrail.com, regardless of the connection and time. The results on happyrail look like the attached screenshot for each connection/time. Is this problem known or has it ever occurred before? Is there anything that can be done?Many thanks and best regardsMarcel

Interrail Pass and extra costs

Hi, I’m considering the Interrail Global Pass (5 days) and trying to figure out if it suits my needs. I’m planning to travel with my dog from Gothenburg to Milan in 2 days, and then return to Gothenburg in 3 days. For now, let’s focus on the outbound journey:Day 1: Gothenburg - Copenhagen and Copenhagen - HamburgDay 2: Hamburg - Zurich and Zurich - MilanAfter purchasing the Global Pass, are the only additional costs the seat reservations and the dog ticket where required, or should I expect extra fees? I’ve already ruled out night trains for this reason.Additionally, do I need to book all tickets through the app? I noticed that some operators, like SJ, allow adding the Interrail Pass on their website as a 100% discount card, while others, like DB or DSB, don’t include Interrail as an option when purchasing the ticket. Thank you!

Hi, is it okay to purchase two global passes(mobile pass) on my account? One is for me, and one is for my companion of the trip. Is everything okay with what I am planning? Or do we have to purchase each of our pass on our own?

Cable pass coverage for Switzerland

Hello,Planning my trip to France, Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland for September 2025 and trying to figure out costs for Switzerland.I’m looking to find which cablecars/gondolas are covered using the Eurail Global Pass for the Bernese-Oberland area including Grindelwald and surrounding areas like Kanderstegg to get to Oeschinensee Lake. I know there is a coverage map for trains, but wasn’t sure if there was one for cablecars/gondolas and/or a site that lists the cost of these as well. Any help is so greatly appreciated!!

Eurail pass app/website activation?

Hi,This will be my first time using the Eurail pass on the app. I need to book and reserve our seats from Zurich to Paris, mid December, however, will get a new phone the week before we depart and am therefore very hesitant to activate or link the pass for our family as I read that you can only transfer the pass once to another phone (if I am correct?).Can I book and reserve on the website?.I would greatly appreciate advice on what I need to do first, is there perhaps a step by step guide?Many thanks for the advice and assistance.

Munich Half Day Trip

Hi All..I am planning to take half day trip from Muenchen to Neuschwanstein Castlebut I notice it quite late, will be back to Muenchen around 4.30 PM.is there any half day trip that offer come back to Muenchen earlier? (like 02.30 PM already back to Muenchen)because we need to go to Zurich, we dont want to be so late. or maybe is there other advise for halfday trip from muenchen from morning to afternoon time? Thanks before.

along the northern spanish coast

Hi!We want to go along the northern spanish coast. A few questions: 1.) For the feve railways: Which part is the most scienic? As the trains are really slow, we would only go where it is much more nice than the normal renfe railway…2.) I have seen, there are some Renfe trains in the rail planner app called TRN where are reservation is said to be needed. When I click on the details, there is only a 6€ fee for second class. We have Interrail first class. So is there no fee for us or is there no first class? Could it be, a only second class train where a reservation is needed?3.) Anyone of you went on the Spanish northern coast from Hendaye to northern Portugal? Which combination of trains seems to be especially good? I remember that some renfe trains offered free food for first class passengers and that there was also a scientic mountain route which is now replaced by a high speed tunnel…

Considering a Eurail Global Pass for our Europe trip starting in Munich, with stops in Interlaken, Paris, and London! I'll be coordinating travel for the whole family—my husband, daughters, and grandma. Has anyone used the pass for these destinations? Any tips or advice on getting the most out of it?
