How Do National Train Websites Know What Class I'm In
Sorry for my ignorance but I’m knew to the mobile app version of Eurail. I made a reservation online with OBB for a segment from Florence to Milan--my wife and I have a first class railpass (10 days in 2 months). The OBB price for a seat reservation was something like 20 Euros--but it asked if I wanted to upgrade to 1st class for an extra 4 euros, so I clicked it. How does DB or OBB of SBB know what class my pass is good for? Many thanks for any answers,Scott
Can't book sleeper for my train Utrecht Central to Zurich HB
Hi fellow travellers! While planning my first ever interrail trip I have ran into an issue with booking sleepers. For some reason I can’ t seem to be able to book any form of couchette tickets on night trains.I am looking to book a sleeper on IC 60403, Utrecht Central to Zurich HB. is it possible that this just isn’ t an option on this train? I have the same problem with the ICE trains going from Berlin to Rotterdam. Is there any way to book a sleeper for these trains, or should I look for a different train. And if so, what train would you recommend :)Thanks a lot in advance,Julian
Seat reservations in Italy--help!
Hi all, thanks for answering my previous questions. I won’t have any trouble with most reservations but I am with ITALY. Both OBB and the Trenitalia sites will not sell a seat reservation for May 29th Florence to Lugano (usually via Bologna or Milan). The OBB site (regardless of date) says NO TICKET and yet if I want to BUY one there are tickets for sale. Please help me figure out how to get such a simple thing like an Italian train seat reservation. Germany and France are easy! Many thanks!Scott
Eurostar Date Mix Up
Hi, I’m completely new to using the Interrail Pass and already I’ve made a couple of fairly major blunders. Here is the latest: I have a Global 1st Class Pass on my phone (1 month). I planned to return to my home town of Newcastle in the UK from Antwerp (via Brussels) on 2nd May so I scheduled the trip in the Rail Planner and then applied for and received a seat reservation for that date. However, I have just noticed that somehow my Eurostar journey appears to be scheduled on my phone for the 1st May, and also at a later time of day (14.04) than the reservation on the 2nd May (12.56). How serious is all this, and can I do anything to change my travel day to 2nd May to fit in with the reservation I have paid for on the 2nd May?

Using mobile app: 2 questions
Hi, my wife and I will be Eurailing in Germany, Italy, and Switzerland in mid-May. From what I read, I don’t trust the Eurail mobile site/app to make seat reservations. Can that be done by, say, the German Rail site and do I need to input that info into the mobile pass? I don’t plan on activating the pass until we get to Frankfurt airport. Secondly, I won’t have a SIM card for the first couple of days so how can a conductor read a QR code. I’m beginning to regret buying the mobile version. Scott
Eurostar reservation change
I live in the UK. I have a global pass to start with Eurostar trip from London to Brussels in 2 weeks. I booked seat reservations through Interrail app. I want to change the date by two days. Can I do that without charge still using my first free trip leaving the UK? How do I do that?
Journey from Amsterdam to Zurich
We are planning to travel on the overnight train from Amsterdam to Zurich on the 9th August. I would like to reserve seats but it says ‘no seat reservation required, you can buy a seat reservation if you like but it’s not required’. How do we reserve a seat? When you click on the message, nothing happens.
Is Eurail Pass no longer valid on some Polish trains
Specifically I’m looking at the Katowice to Vienna (Wien) international route. This is one of the routes that is subject to “Oferta Super Promo International” - there are PDFs available that show this pricing applies to most, if not all international rail routes into Poland. It seems this was started in early 2022.Normally on the PKP/Intercity booking site https://www.intercity.pl/en/ , when booking a domestic train you can select a Eurail “reservation only” from the Discount/reservation type dropdown list on the selected train. No problems, it works as far as I’m aware. If I select almost any train a few days ahead from Katowice to Wien Hbf on the PKP/Intercity website, there is no option to select Eurail, I just get the message that it’s a special offer with a tick-box that cannot be deselected. I need to reserve two months ahead and cannot see any way around this.Polrail say they can reserve a seat, but their pricing to buy a full ticket on this route bears no relation to the PKP pub

Planning multiple trips on one Pass
Hi everyone, I’ve searched through the interrail website and forums, but am a little confused about how to make this work.It seems like when you activate a pass, you can only use it for a single trip? But you can make additions to that trip once it’s been activated??Here is my situation - I have a 2 month/15day pass, that I haven’t activated yet. I’m planning to travel around for a week in April (Spain and France), return home to London for a month, and then head back out around Germany/Hungary etc. to complete the rest of my pass. For planning purposes, I’ve been considering these as two seperate trips. I’m nearly done planning my route for the Spain/France trip, but hadn’t started thinking about the later one just yet. I was expecting to plan that once I returned from the first ‘leg’.Once I activate the pass for travelling in Spain, I’m concerned I won’t be able to then add the 2nd part of my trip later, even though the pass will still be valid and in-date. I don’t want to end up usi
Ferries Venice to Istria?
I’ll be in Venice in mid-April, and was hoping to get over to Istria by ferry.I’ve found ferries with Venezia Lines, but they don’t appear to start their season until 29 April. Are there any other short ferries from Venice to Istria that anyone knows about? Or Zadar/ Split?Or is the only option to go down to Ancona/ or train via Trieste?
Spain and UK: buying tickets vs eurail pass
Hi All, We are traveling to Spain and UK in late May to late June.We purchased a Eurail pass to cover 4 trains- London to Bristol- Cheltenham to Edinburgh- Madrid to Seville- Seville to Granada We paid approx $385 each for the pass. We thought it was worth it because we calculated what the trains would have cost to buy individual tickets (somewhere between $440 and $470, once you include booking fees and the like).Once you purchase the seat reservations we are probably paying close to $420 or so with the pass.Anyway, since buying the pass we've now found out about the whole Spain train reservation thing (can only book seat reservations once in Spain). Plus, Eurail doesn't seem to let us book the seats for the UK trains either. The whole thing is pretty convoluted and time-consuming... Does anyone know why it seems you can book tickets on Spain and UK trains in advance, just not the seat reservations? We are considering getting our pass refunded (only get 85% back), and just buying the t
BUDAPEST TO MILAN
Hi I want to travel from Budapest to Milan on 20th (or if necessary 21st) April but on checking obb website there's no seats on salzburg-milan night train on 20th. Is there another route I can use? I've booked a seat on a train from Saltzburg around 6am on 21st but no idea how to get there from Budapest! Thanks. Carole
Using Eurail Pass when booking trains in Norway train website
I have purchased a global Eurail pass for 15 days in 2 month period. I want to make reservation for a train from Fauske Station to Trondheim Station on the Norway train website www.vy.no/en. How do I do that? I have found out how to do that on Swedish train website but not for Norway’s. Would appreciate any help for this technical question.
IC train with Eurail - how to board if no reservation required?
Hello.I will be in Amsterdam for the first time, soon, and am unfamiliar with the practices there.I have a 1st Class Eurail pass, Digital.I will travel from Amsterdam to Brussels. No seat reservations are required for the IC train. And the app says that the price of IC trains are already included in my Eurail pass. But can anyone tell me if there is anything that I must do on the Eurail app before I board the IC train? Since there are no reservations required, and permission to use the train is already included in my Eurail app, then do I simply walk onto the train without a printed ticket or barcode? Thank you.
Please Help a couple of Aussie Travellers
Hello All I'm not sure if this is the right spot to ask but hoping you could all help me out with some questions that I have or if there might be a different group that I could ask. My partner and I are coming over for a 6 week Europe holiday and I'm wondering what is the best way to get around. I've been looking on the EU Rail website and each time I look at it I get more and more confused. My partner has family in Scotland so we were thinking of basing ourselves there and then doing Europre and flying back and going again. Could anyone please advise me what the best thing to do is as I dont have much of an idea.Thank you Daniel
