Hello We are three girls who are currently planning our interrail trip at the end of spring/beginning of summer 2025. We have bought the interrail pass "2 months free travel" and have chosen 14 destinations that we would like to experience. However, we are in doubt as to which order we should plan in? Do we need to find accommodation first? Or should we look for train times first? We have started to find accommodation, but have encountered a problem. We think it seems unmanageable, as some routes between the cities are long or complicated, and thus we have to spend large parts of the day on the train. We are afraid that we will miss the opportunity to experience the city instead. Do we have too many destinations? Maybe we can "save" a night by taking the night train, but how do we find them?Which way is best if you have to plan an interrail trip from scratch as a first-time interrailer? All advice is welcome. These are our "so far" locations: Berlin - Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Ljubujan
I’m having trouble with getting on to get your guide link - it’s saying I have to have a valid pass which I do have - can anyone help please
The train operator’s webpage does not require seat reservations, however eurail shows that it’s required. Why is this? Can I follow the rules from the train operator? Is it mandatory to reserve a seat on Eurail?
Hi, i was just looking through th timetable to look for reservations in June/July. I know I can’t book until end of this month but when looking at French timetables it showed French train and told me I couldn’t book it just yet. When looking from trains in Italy for the same period it either gives me “no results” or send me via france, germany and switzerland( lovely places but noton our schedule this year)Can anyone let me know why this is and if the italian trains will show up closer to the time thanks

We are both retired and this is totally outside of our comfort zone. However we are also really excited on this venture. We really could do with some help from young experienced travelers from this community. We are based in the UK.we have purchased a flight to Oslo , therefore our starting point will be Oslo.We have got 1 month pass.Any guidance on where we should go from Oslo will be appreciated. Our plan is to make it back to the UK , via the Eurostar train , therefore we are totally open as to where and which countries. Our must is Switzerland and ViennaAlso has anybody have any experience with Travel Visa for British nationals, as we are now out of Europe, do we need to get Visa ? I had heard that from 2025 we may need visa ? Is this correct Appreciate your help
Can I please check the detail of the ‘travel out’, ‘travel in’ facility of a Global Pass. Does the Pass only cover for the actual train on which you leave your home country (UK) i.e. the Eurostar or can it include for trains needed to board the Eurostar. For example, for somebody living in say Nottingham to get to St Pancras International they may be able to get a direct train but if not they would be required to take a train to Grantham or Long Eaton and then a train to St Pancras or Kings Cross respectively. Would the Pass cover them for the trains to get to St Pancras (and in reverse on returning)?
We are planning our first trip to Europe. We bought a 2 month Global pass.Just a few questions 1. Is the eurail valid in Greece 2. can we use the monthly eurail global pass on the ferries between the Greek Islands3. Is the ferry from Greece to Italy included in the monthly global pass.4. Can we only book our ferry trips after activating our passThanksNadene
The train operator’s webpage does not require seat reservations, however eurail shows that it’s required. Why is this? Can I follow the rules from the train operator? For example, Rome-Florence, 27 january. In the page of trenitalia it is not mandatory to reserve a seat or in case you want to, you have to pay only 2€ while when I want to reserve that trip, eurail, says that is mandatory the seat reservation for that route
Hi.Can we do our night train reservations before we activate our Global pass?
I have bought 2 global passes for me and my partner - but do we both need an interrail account in order to book tickets
I would highly appreciate it if people could suggest trip ideas for a month (10 or 15 travel days) starting from Copenhagen. It can end in any country that’s fine but gotta make sure the country that’s at the end of the trip has a flight back. I would love it as a community to pitch in some ideas and maybe this could be used as a reference for people to look at without spending time deciding how long each train takes to avoid missing travel days.
When usint the interrail do you have to book the whole trip before you set off or can you make it up as you go along? Say we get to Prague and decide to stay an extra day and miss out our next planned stop and move on to somewhere else, is that possible?
Myself and my wife are travelling to Switzerland in the month of May 2025. We have 4 day Global passes. Does the pass (2nd class) cover journeys on the Bernina express, Gotthard Panorama express, Glacier express and other sight seeing trains? Which ones arent?Generally need some help planning an itinerary so can anyone point us in the direction of an experienced Switzerland train holiday planner willing to share advice?Hugh
I am planning to take the night train from Bratislava to Krakow Glowny in mid April 2025. EN 476 Metropol departs Bratislava at 21:58pm and arrives Breclav at 23:04pm. Continuing on to Krakow, the train number changes to 406 but you don’t changes trains. It departs Breclav at 1:00am. The info on the What Is A Travel Day page states … “When traveling on a night train that leaves on one day and arrives the next, without changing trains after midnight, you only have to spend 1 travel day”. Just want to be sure I’m correct in thinking this trip counts as only 1 day. Thanks.
Hello, I live in France and I have a 7-day global pass to go to Greece. I will use one day of my Pass to leave France and one day to return to France. However, I have to take two trains in France to cross the Italian border from home. Is it possible to use my pass for these two trains (on the same day), or can I only use the pass for the train crossing the Border? Thanks in advance Hello, I live in France and I have a 7-day global pass to go to Greece. Hi! In the next days we are going to take the bernina express from tirano to Chur. Arriving at 19 in chur, we checked the hostels and hotel but they are too much expensive. Is there any other itinerary that goes from chur and arrives in a cheaper but nice city to sleep? Thank you a lot Samuele
I will be arriving in Bosnia from Croatia by train. Is there passport control at the train station or how do I get my passport stamped as I need it to show I have left the Schengen area.
HelloIn April next year I will be travelling from Brussels to London on the Eurostar. I will be in Europe on my Australian passport but will travel to the UK on my British passport. I have entered in my UK passport to get my Eurostar seat reservation for the Brussels - London leg. On my return from London to Paris, I assume I put my Australian passport details in to get my Eurostar reservation, even though I arrived on my UK passport. For both leaving the EU for UK, then returning, I assume I do EU immigration then UK at the start of both train trips. Is this correct? Many thanksJon
