Hi everyone,Regarding the decision between a first-class and second-class ticket, I’d like to ask you something.I’ve been on several Interrail trips before, always traveling in second class. Now I’m considering purchasing a first-class Interrail pass. Next summer, I’d like to travel to Norway and Sweden, and I was wondering if any of you have experience with first class there. Do you think it’s worth it?I did some research in the Rail Planner app beforehand, but I got a bit confused by the prices for seat reservations in first class on regional trains. Are they really free? Are there additional advantages of a first-class pass that make the trip more comfortable or possibly even save you money in the end? And what about food — do you get any benefits there as well?Thank you so much for your help.Have a nice day and a wonderful trip,Lena
Hi everyone,You probably get this question a lot, but I’d like to ask something about the activation process.I’m thinking about buying a pass now because of the sale, but I’d like to travel next summer. Is it possible to activate my pass next August if I buy it in December? Does the sale change anything regarding the time frame for activation?Thank you so much for your help.Have a nice day,Lena
Hello everyone,Thank you to all fellow-travellers who have given amazing advice and tips on this forum. After travelling overland through France and Switzerland, we want to give the kids a beach break (they’re 9 & 11). We’ll be in Tirano, north Italy (after hopefully doing Bernina train). Can anyone recommend somewhere not too far away where we could enjoy some nice sea and beach time? The plan after that is to travel through Austria, Germany and back to London that way. Thanks for any help! 😊
Does anybody know how to chase up Bahn, who have failed to reimburse accommodation due to delay, please?DB stuff-ups (somehow misplacing one half of an ICE) meant I had 102mins delay into Hamburg for what should have been a 65 minute connection to the SJ night train north to my home in the Arctic.Arriving after 22:30, with no further connection possible, the little DB booth just atop the southern escalators checked my RailPlanner app to make sure I’d added the whole journey (Munich-Stockholm), then issued me with a piece of paper which confirmed the delay and told me they wouldn’t be booking me a hotel but that I could spend up to €120 and then post the receipt back with a pink form they gave me in an envelope they gave me before continuing early next morning.I did that, but three weeks later had heard nothing. So then I tried emailing the address they give here, EUAntragFGR@deutschebahn.com with the subject “Passenger rights: EU application form” and sent photos of the documents tha
Ciao, mi date un mano a capire come prenotare una cuccetta da 4 (viaggiamo con due bambini) per questo treno? Dovrebbe essere gestino da CFR Romena ma non trovo come prenotare solo la cuccetta.Grazie mille!
I can’t believe it we have left our Eurail passes in Melbourne. Has anyone ever done this before? Can you get them replaced?
I would like to find out what benefits we have on the S-Bahn with a Eurail pass?according to ChatGPT it is free to use the S-Bahn in Zurich for day trips without activating a pass day. This is also given in a pdf that comes from the website directly. How does it work. Do we show our Eurail pass without a travel date booked. Below is the exact words from the pdf we got."Switzerland for Eurail and Interrail Passes 2025Free ride in SWITZERLAND by following companies: SBB/CFF/FFS entire network."
Hello every body!we want to visit Roma and Napoli. WE start from Rennes in Britany, we are 4 and We have 9 days in total. How can we do? Wich ticket or pass should we book? Thanks a lot!!
Can one use the 6-day Greek island pass, which includes the possibility of a return trip from Italy to Greece (Ancona-Patras-Ancona), ‘in reverse’? In other words, imagine one is already on a Greek island and uses the first travel day to reach Piraeus, the second travel day for Patras-Ancona, the third travel day for Ancona-Patras, and the remaining days for travel within Greece. Is this allowed? Many thanks!
I want to travel from Amsterdam to Munich using the Interrail Global Pass. I have 4 travel days in one month. I found a direct train on Deutsche Bahn (ICE 225), however, when I search this train in the Interrail planner I cannot find it. The part of the trip from the first border station in Germany (Oberhausen Hbf) to Munich is available in the app. I am a first time user of the interrail system, so maybe I misunderstand the system. The planner does show other (less favourable) options to travel the same day from Amsterdam to Munich. P.S. I have the same issue for the travels back from Munich to Amsterdam.
Dear all, My friend and I are travelling with Interrail in May 2026 and would like to reserve a sleeping car (two bunk beds) on the night train connecting Viena and Zurich, do u know where to insert the option of having an Interrail global pass on their website to proceed to make the reservation? Many thanks in advance! Diana.

Travel plans early March 2026 from Paris Austerlitz to Narbonne overnight on 1st Cl. eurail pass. Method to book, find extra cost of private cabin. Does this Eurail Pass discount the cabin cost?
Hello, we are going on a tour of Europe for two months, September–October 2026, and I would like to book my ticket for two months in December 2025 because there is a good deal. Is the ticket valid until we use it, or does it have an expiration date?I’m open to any tips that will be essential for our trip.
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some advice on an issue I’m facing. My first name was captured as my english name (which does not match the name on my passport) on both my Eurail Pass and my seat reservation tickets — only my last name is correct. Unfortunately, the seat reservation names can’t be changed, and the only option support suggested was to cancel and rebook. However, because I booked as a group with my family, cancelling my portion would require cancelling everyone’s bookings as well, which isn’t ideal.I’m worried about whether this name mismatch (incorrect first name but correct last name) will cause issues during ticket control checks on the trains. For context, we will be travelling on several routes: London → Brussels, Brussels → Paris, Paris → Switzerland, and trips within Italy.Has anyone encountered something similar? Would the incorrect first name cause problems during inspections?Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated!
How much is a refund protection, the fee?
I live in Saarbrücken and want to purchase a France Rail Pass to travel to Bordeaux. I'm not sure whether I can use the pass for the Forbach–Paris segment of the ICE/TGV route from Saarbrücken–Forbach–Paris. (I know the Saarbrücken–Forbach segment requires a separate ticket.)Besides the cost of the pass itself, what other fees do I need to pay? (TGV/ICE reservation fees? Seat reservation fees?)I'm new to rail passes—thanks in advance for any answers.
Hello. I have bought my pass and am now trying to book train and seats but struggling. We are travelling from Cardiff in July 2026 to London and then around France. When I add my route in the planner no trains appear so I don't understand how I get to see the trains or book seat reservations. Do I need to activate my journey in the pass section. Thank you for any advice.
Hi,I am to buy an Interrail Italy mobile pass.I note that many local trains are not on my railplanner App.I will be in Rimini and as an example my app only shows one train to Ravenna each day at 21:29. There are many teains, around 1 train per hour through the day.So, if I were to use the 08:43 Rimini to Revanna as my first train of the day, and it is not on the Railplanner app how would I validate that days travel please??Thank you.Peter
Gracias
We are travelling to Europe in Feb/Mar 2026. We are based in Cham, Switzerland and plan on visiting Rome, Florence, Milan, Munich, Paris and then some smaller trips from Cham/Zurich accross the border to Germany etc. We arrive 19 Feb and leave Mar 20. My questions are:Would it be worthwhile getting the Eurail? Most of our travel to tourist attractions will be via train. Would a 1 month pass cover Feb to Mar or would that count as two months? I dont understand the concept of “travel days” - can someone please explain.Apologies if these are dumb questions but this is our first time abroad. ThanksSavanna
I'm struggling to make a series of connected reservation as what if I make a reservation and then can't get the next leg?
