Hi everyone, I am planning a Greek Island hopping trip.We will fly into Kos and home from Santorini. I am struggling to find the ferry schedule for some crossings after May 2024. For example, the last crossing I would like to make is from Mykonos to Santorini, but that is not visible with either of the ferry companies for July and I would be surprised if that is not a route that exists. Am I just too early to make this reservation for this summer? Many thanks, Emma
We are thinking of buying a Global Interrail pass for a journey this year. Unless I have misunderstood can I use the pass for travel from York to London and then Eurostar as well as travel in Europe? Thank you
Buenas. Soy de Costa Rica y quiero hacer un viaje a Europa. No conozco nada de Europa. Por favor me brindan recomendaciones de conexiones para conocer lo más que pueda. Gracias
Hi,I had used the Rail Planner app on my previous trip with no issues. I've changed phone (now running Android 14) and have successfully installed the Rail Planner, it starts fine asking what pass I have (Eurail/interrail/none), but whichever option I tick, when I then click on the yellow "Next" ("Suivant" in french) button at the bottom, I get presented with a page "Keep informed" ("Tenez-vous informé(e)" in french), and whichever combinations of notifications I select, strictly nothing happens when I click on the "Save" ("Enregistrer") button at the bottom. This means I can't actually get past this initial configuration, so have no access to the actual functionalities of the app, and hence can't use my mobile interrail pass I have just purchased. Many thanks for any help in getting the app into operation mode !Kind regards,Pascal
Can I buy two discounted passes (before 5 March) and use for two separate trips (before 11month activation) please? e.g. a trip to France and Italy in June and a separate trip to France and Spain in September. Thanks.
Hi. We purchased the 2 month global pass (plus upgrade for 100% refund). I used this site for seat reservations and now realise that I cannot confirm actual seat numbers on this site. How do I cancel this request to receive a full refund for the seat reservations (and) what site do you recommend to book actual seat numbers. Ideally I would like to see the seat layout of the class that I am booking. Thank you once again for your assistance.
Hi Friends, Just wanted to check if there are any possible discounts on buying Eurorail and interrail tickets. Thanks

Italy in June booking accomodation question - Travelling around Italy (from Bath, UK) - Trains and accomodation booked as far as Bologna (26th May) + a stay in Naples & Salerno also booked. Our route is roughly UK - via Paris to Geneva, Bologna, Umbria / Tuscany, Naples area, then Sicily. We plan 3 ish days in Umbria or Tuscany (end May) then 7 or 8 days in Sicily (from 5th June). We would like to have some travel flexibility - I'm assuming we can book hotels / airbnb's (budget circa max 130 Euro for a double) on the fly (a day or 2 ahead) - is this correct / any thoughts? Thanks
Hi! I’ll be visiting Italy and France in September 2024 with my friend so I’m wondering is anyone traveling around that time? 🤗 We’d be happy to share this experience with other travellers
Hi everyoneI am getting train Paris to Beziers on 24 May and hoping to reserve seats on 1442 TGV. I am travelling with my family plus 3 other families, 15 of us in total. I understood that TGV opened 90 days before travel...that would be today but it's not open yet. Also not sure of best way to ensure we can all sit together. I am anxious to book asap as other trains that day more lengthy journey. Any tips gratefully receivedThanks in advanceJenny
Hello community,We'll be travelling from central Finland to southern France late September and coming back late October. Two adults and two teenagers. Here is a more detailed plan at the moment:27th September train to Turku (buying regular tickets well in advance)27th-28th a Viking Line night ferry from Turku to Stockholm (buying regular tickets as the Interrail discount seems to apply only to day-time ferries, at least on our travel date if I'm correct)28th September train from Stockholm to Copenhagen (using the first pass day and thus starting the validity of the pass)night in Copenhagen29th September train from Copenhagen to Berlin (2nd pass day)night in Berlin30th September nighjet from Berlin to Paris (3rd pass day, when will the couchette/sleeper tickets become available?)night in Paris2nd October train from Paris to Antibes (4th pass day, preferably a direct TGV, where to get seat reservations and when will they become available?)24th October train from Antibes to Genoa and a ni
I’m traveling with my niece throughout Europe in late May-middle of June. I’m trying to determine which is more cost effective for us, either buying a Eurail pass and making seat reservations or buying tickets directly.I’m looking at purchasing the Global Eurail Pass with 5 days of travel, first-class, one adult pass and one youth pass. In determining what is most cost effective, I’ve been doing what has been suggested, which is comparing Eurail passes with reservation fees against prices for directly purchased tickets, and doing like for like comparisons (same dates, routes).I keep hearing how inexpensive train travel is in Europe, and how it is often better economically to buy tickets directly, however, when I price it out, Eurail seems to be far cheaper (almost $1000 cheaper) for our plans. Is this because I want to travel in first-class? Is it because one of us is a youth Eurail pass? Is it due to where we are traveling (France to Switzerland to Italy). Is it due to all of these?
Hello, My husband and I are about to embark on a three month trip using eurail global passes. I have loaded legs on “my trip” in the app and paid for any needed seat reservations. Questions: Can I somehow transfer the “journeys” to my husbands travel app on his phone or will he need to manually add each trip? FYI - He has his ticket on his phone and I on mine? If seat reservations are not required what do we show when boarding the train, is there a QR code or something once the pass is activated? I have read we should activate the ticket in advance of our travel date but ensure we cancel it by 23:59. Do folks often have problems? I just want to make sure there is no issue with cancelling the initial activation as I don’t want to lose precious days.. Thanks for your insight.
Hi. We are planning to take this train using our Eurail Pass. We would appreciate any advice that you can share. There are two of us travelling. I have read about Prestige class. Should we consider that? Once we arrive in Montreaux, we need to get to Geneve. Should we take the train or boat?
I am taking my mom and sister on their first (and likely only) trip outside of the US, so we will be taking the train to a handful of countries. My question is whether our passports will get stamped upon arrival? If that’s not standard, is there a way to request it? I think they’d really like having stamps in their brand-new passports!
Hello, I am trying to reserve seats to travel between Brussels and Amsterdam. Through the Eurail website I booked EUR 9303, which leaves at 7:52 am, but when I go to the seat reservation page it only shows me train EUR 9301, so I don't know how to make the reservation. Otherwise, I cannot find the trains EUR 9322 for the Amsterdam-Brussels route and ES 9125 for the Brussels-London route. Could you tell me what these situations are due to or where I should make reservations? Thank you so much.
My husband and I need to book seats ASAP for March 31, a popular day. We want to travel from Victoria Station in London to Shoreham by Sea. When I begin to book this it says, second traveller. Then it asks for my Europass number. It tells me it is above the QR code on our paper pass. That is an 8 digit number. When I try to type it in, it is too long!!!! So how in the world am I to find my pass number. It also says it is in our ‘confirmation email.’ We neve got a ‘confirmation email.’ Feeling desperate here. Many thanks!!!Leslie
Hi Everyone. Just to introduce myself as Dave from “Up North” (Middlesbrough). I’m looking to purchase a Flexi Pass (4 days) for the first time as I’m thinking about treating myself to a trip aboard for my 55th birthday next month. Due to my irrational fear of flying my preference is to try the train option. For me the purpose of the train option is basically a means to an end as I’m looking to spend 5 days in Benidorm. In a nutshell I’m thinking 2 days travel each way with an overnight stop somewhere between. If i can call on your good selves experience do you think this is doable with a 4 day pass? Also, can I use my first day on the pass to travel from Darlington to Paris (as i was a little confused with The Man In Seat 61’s explanation)? I’m trying to factor in costs but am i right in saying its a bit of an unknown due to the varaible cost of seat reservations. Will that cost make the trip financially nonviable maybe? Thanks in advance for any help as it will be well received. Dave
Just staring to look in to traveling this way, want to know if the trains only stop at the major stops shown on the maps or do they stop at other places too along the way?
We want to take the Santa Claus Express from Turku (departure 20:20) via Tampere to Kemijärvi (arrival 8:50). Does anyone know how many travel days are required for this night train?
We plan to travel between Verona and Innsbruck on successive days. Verona-Trento-Bressanone-Brenner-Innsbruck.I understand that for the Frecciarossa trains we would need to pay for a seat reservation so we would not get those trains. On some of the other trains there is (differently phrased depending on whether I look at Train Europe or the RailPlanner or Trenitalia) some trains that say that a supplement is required and a few where no supplement is required. many questions are what is correct for non-reservation trains? For an hour or so we would not get the trains that require a reservation. Do we need to pay a supplement (I think we pay this at the station?) for each time we use one of those trains even though we are not crossing into Austria until the final day?
Ranks & badges; how do they work?
