Hi, I have booked a night train (EN 40237) from Munich to Ljubljana on 17th Aug 2023, there was no option to choose the type or class of seat/compartment etc so i dont know if we have an actual bed. the ticket says seats ‘centre (mitte)’ 93-94 and ‘window (fenster)’ 95-96. Does this mean we only have a seat and not a bed? I also dont know if we have the compartment to ourselves, im not comfortable with sharing it with 2 strangers. Does anyone know how to find this out? many thanks
Hi everybody, I’m new on this community.Maybe my question has already been asked I mean...but I try anyway. My daughter goes to Stockholm with Erasmus to study at the university. So we are planning a family trip to Sweden from France at the end of August.I understand (thanks to the different conversations and questions about that) that the global pass is required because it is just a round trip to Sweden. But when I'm looking for the best pass for my travel “Trouvez le pass ferroviaire le mieux adapté”, the one country is proposed! Maybe I didn't understand or didn't do something right, or is it just confusing?*Thank you in advance to confirm to myself, if the global pass is the good way, and if the request on the website to find the good pass for the good trip is really confusing.Fabien
I bought a 10 day in 2 month Eurail pass for use in December and January. I used 3 days of this in Europe fine then came to UK. With the frequent rail strikes (there have been more strike days than non-strike days over the past three weeks!) I have not been able to use the pass for my travels. Instead I have ended up buying bus or flight tickets. Is there any way to do anything about this with Eurail? Perhaps refund the unused days, or extend the pass somehow. I will be able to use perhaps two more days of the pass, but it will end with several unused days just because of the strikes. I suspect I won’t be able to do anything (claiming “delay” compensation is not relevant as it simply stopped travel, not delayed it!), but perhaps there is something I can’t think of!
Hi,I would like to take a sleeper train from Amsterdam to Zurich early May, but the eurrail site and OBB site both say that tickets are unavailable for the night jet. I’ve already selected Interrail/eurrail pass holder for the discount and one-way travel option, but all the night jet tickets are “unavailable”. Does this mean that all the night jets are booked full? What should I do?
Hi there I am planning my first trip to Europe and purchased a eurail global pass but I am having trouble trying to book anything. I'd like to reserve 2 seats from Marseille to Barcelona on 17 May. I've tried ringing the France number but they can't even reserve the first leg to Nimes as they don't accept visa cards for payment. Is anyone able to tell me if it will be possible to use the eurail global pass to reserve seats from Marseille to Barcelona on 17 May please? We arrive in Paris on 8 May. The eurail pass sounded great but now I'm starting to think that it isn't going to work for us as I'm stuck. I've been reading other posts but I'm still stuck as I don't know how to make this work. Help please 🙏
I bought eurail global pass for 5 flexible days in a month on 9 April 2023 on Klook app. I plan to travel London to Paris on 27 May 2023 and the train requires seat reservation. I am required to activate my pass on Eurail app to reserve a seat. If I reserve my seat now on 10 April 2023 for travel on 27 May 2023, will I be using up my one month validity start right now until 9 May 2023 or the one month validity only starts when I board the train on 27 May 2023?
Hi all, I have a 3 month global pass and used my outbound travel to start this journey.I’m coming back to France and probably using my inbound day end of this month.I’d like to then travel again in june and take a brussels to london eurostar.I have read here and there that the app detects that you enter your COR (country of residence) so I’m wondering if my plan will work or not. It would be quite a pity i guess if it were the case. Thanks in advance for your helpful advice!
Hi2nd year of rail pass travel with my son so we’re much more organised this year, however the delay in being able to book the last seat reservations for a key step in our journey back home is causing me some worry.we need to book on the 13:34 TGV Zurich to Paris on 10th August but bookings are still only open till around mid June, 3 months till pass reservations open I believe. However the price of the reservations with the pass is around 74 euros, no choice of seat location and risk I don’t get in quick enough due to limited pass seats.Whereas I can book that train now, via a few places but say the rail europe site for 77 euros (plus booking fee) and be able to chose an upstairs seat (obviously!) and rest easy. The few euros difference for peace of mind and an upstairs seat seems worthwhile or am I missing a trick. What would you do?Thanks
For certain dates (London to Amsterdam) the Eurostar site says “Sorry, no trains are available on this date. This could be because the train is sold out, the service is not running, or because tickets are not yet on sale. Please try a different travel date, or check back later.”It’s quite important to know what the reason is - if the train is sold out or not running, fair enough, I’ll plan my visit for another date. But if tickets just aren’t on sale yet, I’d still like to plan my visit for that date and book as soon as tickets go on sale. Does anyone know how to find out? I have filled out a Eurostar query form but they sent me an irrelevant response and then closed the case!
It seems that you can’t book a train from Olsztyn in Poland to Berlin in Germany with Interrail. For the past two months, the interface has told me that “maybe” there was no seats available anymore for Pass owners. But also that I needed to wait 30 days before the trip scheduled date for trains in Poland to become available. Now I am 30 days before the trip, and still I get the same message. It would be more honest to say that they don’t support some trips. Which makes the Pass much less advantageous.
Hi community. I am trying to work out how to book a wheelchair seat for our daughter who is travelling with us in March. There will be three of us travelling, my wife, myself and our disabled daughter. The main trains I want to book the wheelchair seat on is the Eurostar from London to Bruxelles-Midi and also the TGV from Bruxelles-Midi to Strasbourg. I have no problems booking assistance and have downloaded the Eurail Passenger assistance and mobility services document. It is just the seat reservation for a wheelchair I cannot find an answer to.I have read several question people have posted, but none seem to have the answer, just references to the assistance document.Hoping someone can post a clear answer for me and anyone who is trying to find an answer for this in the future. Thank you for your time.
Hi, I am asking for a friend who is US American based in Germany for years, who wants to purchase the Eurail Pass. He intends going between Germany and Austria several times back and forth. 1.) He also has a German residency and can purchase an Interrail pass. But adding Germany as resident country makes it impossible going several times back and forth between Germany and Austria, right?2.) If he is purchasing the Eurail Pass, is there the same restriction? Thx upfront!
We are travelling from Brussels to Amsterdam tomorrow Sunday 2nd April. Made decision to take cheap intercity. Looking on planner it's now asking to pay supplement. I think for the airport we don't want obviously! Also train now taking 3h 15m instead of 2h 50m. Can anyone tell me do we have to pay this on board or before hand? Do we have to pay if we are not using airport? We are a family of 6. Thanks
Hi all,Recently purchased the Eurail Pass and can’t wait to visit Europe at the end of this month. I have added the mobile pass to m phone and got the trip set up, the QR codes even shows up already and all the travel day has been used. However, I have few confusions:There are few trips that requires seat reservation, one of them is for the trip from Switzerland to Milan using EuroCity train. Went through the OBB ticket site, the trip seems to exist but it said that the ticket is unavailable, what does this mean exactly? No more seat left? Or it’s just that it’s not available online? Do I have to book directly at the station? What happens if till the end I didn’t manage to book a reservation? Will I still be able to hop on the train and just sit randomly or will I not be allowed to board at all. Thanks and hopefully this is not a duplicated question.
I cannot book a reservation while logged in. The ‘Book reservation’ button just disappears. Why?In the first screenshot beneath, the button is there but I’am not logged in. In the second I am logged in, which is needed to proceed with the booking, but the button disappears. How do I now book a reservation?
Hi Everyone,I have bought Interail global pass, and I can not make any reservations. Every time I click on a train to make a reservation, I get a message that says ‘Not available for some travellers...Some of your travellers passes are not valid on this train’.I’ve also heard that the interail app is not reliable, as the train times aren’t updated frequently enough.I want to get a train from London into Paris, and then from Paris to Barcelona. Can someone give me some advice on what to do?Thanks,Davro
Hello, I am having a problem with a reservation. To go from Malmö to Karlsruhe, I have to take the Copenhagen-Hamburg train at 7:11. Reservations are marked as "non-compulsory", and there are no more seats available. However, I see on the forum that summer reservations are mandatory for this trip. My trip will be on saturday april 1st. What about this date ? THANKS ! :)

Hey, I’m from the UK and me and my friend are hoping to go on a small interrail trip this summer. But I’m struggling on which pass to get, I’m travelling from my home in the UK to obviously start in London (not staying just to get the euro star) and we plan to go to amsterdam, krakow, Budapest and vienna then obviously back home. I understand krakow and Budapest are quite far so may need to add a stop in Berlin or something there. This is provisional but with the pass I am confused to wether me travelling to and from london counts as a travel day. And what pass would be best. We didn’t know whether the 4 or 5 day pass, we still aren’t sure if we will add Berlin but either way, we just need some guidance on what pass to get and more info about getting to and from london with the pass as we also have to make a reservation on that train to amsterdam.
How can I reserve my train seats for spain? I want to go from barcelona to valencia back and forth. I tried callin renfe and DB but no answers unfortunately. And I am worried if I want to book my seat at the day of travel when I arrive in barcelona the train to madrid and then to valencia is full
I am trying to reserve this train. I try to buy it online but then I’m rejected and the Eurail site says something like one of your legs is not available….etc. this is the third train in my trip I’m trying to reserve, and am getting constantly rejected or running into issues as a foreign traveler. I really don’t get why everything looks so simple on the planner, and then when you try to actually do something, there’s tiny details that restrict you from booking and are forced to just figure it out if you can when you’re in person. So frustrated already. Bought a Eurail pass because i made a trip with the planner, now considering returning it because nothing is really working out. Am i better off getting a flight?
Caledonian sleeper Glasgow to London then Eurostar to Paris (1 pass travel day)Caledonian Sleeper. Reserved the accommodation-Glasgow to London - then Eurostar to Paris. I have read all the information regarding the "should only be one pass" and I cannot get this to be accepted as 1 pass on the app. Can anyone help? I travel on Friday.
Hello, we are on our way from Duisburg to Berlin on a ICE train (with seat reservations). We have a interrail global pass 1st class. Just now the ticketinspector told us this ticket is not valid on ICE products but only IC and lower class products. we traveled before by ICE train and never had any problem. Is it true interrail is not valid?kind regards, Robin Cremers
Hello!I am already on the road (railway) heading to Stockholm. I would to visit both Sweden and Norway and enjoy the landscape that offer a railway travel. I planned, for now, this simple route:Stockholm - Oslo - Bergen - Oslo - Trondheim - Bodo - Oslo - Malmo - Copenaghen I was thinking also to do the route Stockholm - Narvik, but it seems like very long and with no interesting intermediate stops. Do you recommend it anyway? What about Finland?I was able to book with SJ to get in Sweden. About Norway is it true that is it possible to reserve only by phone(Entur)? On the app I see ALL trains need a reservations, is it correct?Thank you :D
