Hi community,I need guidance on whether to go with a 15-day pass or a 30-day continuous pass. The cost per day for each will be AUD 163 per day per person and AUD 106 per day per person, respectively, but obviously, a 30-day pass is AUD 650 expensive. We are travelling in mid-September: 2 Adults and 2 children (14 and 11). The pass for 11 is free. Our itinerary starts from London and ending in Rome London (4 days) Brussels (5 days) - planning day trips to Amsterdam, Luxemburg, Cologne Paris (5 days) - 2 at Disney Geneva (5 days) - planning day trips across various regions in Switzerland Barcelona (4 days) - day trip to Madrid Nice for a quick day (to Monaco) Italy (5 days) - Planning day drip to Pisa / VeniceI appreciate any help you can provide.
Hi Interrail community,I want to travel to UK/ Glasgow by train and I thought about using interrail. With the global pass, I could use trains in UK right?Probably I will have some extra costs for train reservations?(I want to arrive in Glasgow 26 of October and be back in Munich at 30th of October) Thanks for tipps!Katha
Can I do a round trip consuming one day of my pass? For example: Brussels-Brugge in the morning and return in the evening. Thanks!
I am planning a full circular tour of Spain in September and am finding it very difficult to get any mention of local trains - i.e. those without the need for a reservation. Basically I am talking about travel between the main cities along the Mediterranean as a start. Some of these journeys require two or even sometimes three trains each with a reservation! Is there a way around this, or was I too optimistic (or naive 😯)? Is the answer perhaps to travel between smaller towns?Edit: Perhaps I should ask how much reservations cost in Spain and how much in advance they need to be bought (from a station en route).
I'm trying to book Syracuse/ Bologna via Milan on 23rd October. 10.25 ICN. The screen offers the journey in segments, each requiring seat reservations. I selected each in turn..selected Book...but it circled back to entry screen. RailEurope shows (limited 1st class) availability which is why we wanted to book
Hi All,I am planning a circular route around central Europe staying around 2 days at 7 cities.Planned route is as follows:Prague (2 nights) -> Berlin (2 nights) -> Amsterdam (2 nights) -> Brussels (2 nights) ->Paris (2 nights) -> Zurich (2 nights) -> Munich (2 nights) -> Vienna (1 night) -> London (Home)There was a sale last week, so I bought 2 Eurostar tickets between Amsterdam -> Brussels -> Paris. For the remaining “5 travel days”, I am thinking of getting an Interrail “5 days within 1 month pass”.I’ve just checked a train ticket from Paris to Zurich (direct), on 14th August, second class departing from Gare De Lyon for 2 people, and the train fare is €262.Interrail “5 day pass” cost is around €100 per person for each travel day, so I should benefit from the Interrail pass when I travel from Paris to Zurich. Do you think it makes sense? If not, how would you plan the second part of the trip after Paris, e.g. Paris (2 nights) -> Zurich (2 nights) ->
We are pleased to announce that the Gotthard Base Tunnel in Switzerland on the route between Zurich to Milan is expected to be fully operational again from the 2nd of September, according to SBB (Swiss Federal Railways). This comes over a year after the unfortunate freight train derailment that affected services. As a result, the daily EC Frankfurt-Milan service will resume on the 2nd September, improving direct connections between Germany and Italy. We look forward to the full restoration of this critical transport link. We are active, in our 50s, and know this is a bit of a marathon but looking to see some of each country to then plan future trips back on ones we liked best or traveled through that piqued our interest.Does this route make most sense or what would be best to be switched and where would night trains make the most sense travel from Sept 10-Oct 3looking to go from-to the following cities in the current order London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Munich, Prague, Vienna, Venice Rome, Cinque Terre, Nice, Lucerne, Paris then back to London. Brussels and Venice were just parital day stop overs.Hoping to use fast trains as much as possible was thinking we need the 22 days pass to make this make the most sense . Also if going from London to Brussels Sept 12 how soon do we need to book the Eurostar reservation or does it change much if we go straight to Amsterdam? Was planning to book hotel at next stop day in advance--not looking fancy-- just clean and budget friendly--hoping this is viable at most ne
I have booked paris to zurich via the eurail website , and i can see the details of the reservation in the eurail app as well. However email from eurail says the eticket needs to printed out and shown at the time of travel. Can't I use the QR code in the eticket on my phone ? Do I need to anything additional on the eurail app like saving journey and adding ticket manually before boarding the train, checking as I can see comments like that in the forum however was not clear. Also the email said that we need to show the eurail pass to the conductor , what do they check the email/order details from eurail when the pass bought which got pass details ?any help this will be much appreciated.
I would like to take this trip next year.I am just starting to plan and would like to know if anyone has already taken this trip from Germany.- Which route did you take? Through Norway or Sweden? I read that Norway is more beautiful and less complicated, is that true?- How long does it last? I mean, which cities did you stop in for 1 or 2 days?- How long does the Pass last? I have free time and can travel for up to 2 months, but the number of stops is the main factor in deciding which pass to buy!!!! because on the way back I wanted to visit Lappland and Helsinki.!!!- I am thinking of going between April/May or May/June. Is it still too cold? Thanks in advance, I am open to any itinerary and tips.Roberto
I want to go to El Chorro during the first week of October. No timetable appears on the Interail planning app yet. I can see times on trainline and raileurope but I can't tell if any train will allow interrail passes. From Malaga the ticket only seems to be £3.93 so not worried about having to pay extra, although whether this includes a seat reservation, I don't know. (Seat reservations for every single train journey in Spain is really racking up the costs on top of the pass 😢).Can anyone help please? Not knowing is preventing me from planning ahead. Many thanks in anticipation. Jill
I tried to book the night train from stockholm to Narvik on the Website of vy.When I enter my family (2 adults, 2 children (2 and 5), I only get second class seats as an option. When I miss one child (so only three people), I can book beds. Our youngest (2 year old) does not necessarly need an own bed. How can I book an own compartiment for our family?
I will be travelling soon on a 2-month pass but am likely to get back to my home country (France) well before its expiry date. I understand that I cannot travel any more in France with it, but can I then make my own way to a neighbouring country and continue to travel there as long as the pass remains valid (without of course attempting to return to France using the pass)? The more I think about it, the more it seems possible, unless there is a clause stating that travel must end on return to the home country.
Is it possible to buy a Interrail Ticket above 10 people with discount? because the interrail page about groups is down
Hi I’m hoping to find a way back from Milan to London, ideally using an over night sleeper train for part of the route.Im open to all suggestions but have a slight preference for getting the Eurostar to London via Brussels rather than Paris.Any help on this will be gratefully received:)
I previously created a trip & added my pass to this trip. I activated today’s journey and received a barcode ticket for today’s journey. Today I can’t display my trip or my pass even though I’m logged on. Error message says problem syncing my trips to my phone. The error message says I should create a new trip and add my pass to that trip. I have created a new trip but am unable to add my pass because it is still assigned to my previous trip, which is not visible! Any ideas how to resolve? Thanks
Hello.I am looking to travel from:Vilnius, Lithuania > Riga, Latvia > Tallinn, Estonia > Helsinki, FinlandIt’s over €200 for an Interrail ticket. However, I checked the price of a train ticket between Vilnius and Riga and it was approx. €25.My question is: is it worth getting an Interrail ticket for this planned trip and if so, what are the benefits? Thanks.Liam
I want to travel from Aix to Valencia on 30 August, but I cannot see any way to actually book seat reservations for this journey. I will be starting my trip in Toulouse, but it seems reservations can only be made at a main station in Spain, which is no help to me at all. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to make these reservations fro Australia, or France? Thanks!
Hi, If I now want to book a ferry trip from Super Fast Ferries to Greece, do I have to activate my pass beforehand or what exactly do I have to do? And is it possible that not all connections are shown on the route map? I have already tried to answer both questions through the FAQs but they are still there. Thanks for your help!:)
