Refund or Extensions due to covid

Due to the ongoing problem of Covid variants, we are still having to postpone our trip.  We purchased first class global Eurail passes Mar 3 2020 just before Covid erupted.  Should we get a refund now, or will there be another extension of the dates for their valid use?

Train travel between countries within the EU; Covid requirements.

We have train tickets booked on Eurail. For April 2022.  I would like as much information as I can get about travel by train between countries. Is there border patrol and covid tests necessary every time? Is a Canadian vaccine card recognized there? Are tourists welcomed? Any information I can get will be very helpful. I feel like I have lots of questions and when I start typing I forget some so if there’s something we should know I’d be grateful to hear about it!!!

Passport checks in trains/ferrys?

Hello!I am planning to visit Berlin, Croatia, Italy and France next year. I assume I need a passport for this, but what about passport control? Is it like in airports where they check your stuff at the counter and at the security? I am also going by boat to Croatia, departing from Italy. Does anyone know how and if they will check my passport at the port?

Train delayed - couldn't get the next ones

Hey guys, me and my friend vici got two interrail tickets (4 days within a month). We just took the Nighttrain from Narvik to Stockholm yesterday. But the train got four hours late and so we couldn‘t get our trains back to germany.Now we must take a train at 17:18 and will arrive tomorrow in the morning instead of tonight. The problem is, that our tickets won‘t work for the last two stops. Are there any solutions for problems like that?Thank you

France: Eurail/Interrail's problem child

It has been many years now that France has limited Eurail/Interail access on TGVs. TGVs require a reservation. Unless you can plan way ahead--which defeats much of the beauty of the Eurail--it is often cheaper to buy tickets online than to use a pass. Not only do you have to get your reservation, too, which increases the cost of each individual trip, but the SNCF limits the number of Eurail-pass-holder seats quite a bit. As a result, I have  been caught more than once holding a pass but having to buy a regular internet ticket when I wanted to take a train 6 or 7 days out (not knowing when I would want to travel in advance).This is exacerbated by the fact that France has, for over 10 years now, poured resources into money-making TGVs at the expense of slower regional trains. Sometimes it is impossible to avoid a TGV or at least extremely difficult to travel by train other than TGV or a night train (which requires also getting a couchette, another expense and you don’t get to see the cou

To London from US Travel

Is the Omicron affecting visitors to get back to the States?  My husband and I were planning on coming to London and Paris in January,  but I think it's best we wait until the summer as the numbers have gotten extremely high and I don't want to risk being stuck abroad for 2 weeks.  What do you think???

New Covid Restrictions - London to Paris

So, has these restrictions now caused no travel between the two countries?  So, if I just purchased tickets on yesterday through Eurostar,  I can't get my money back at all? I am a US citizen as I was trying to celebrate my anniversary there.  Am I reading this correctly???  Please help ????

London to Paris as US Citizen

I wanted to see if anyone has any insight as to the new travel restrictions to enter Paris from London/UK. We are traveling in February 2022 and are US citizens. I am unclear if France is restricting travel to have to be essential travel for everyone entering from the UK or just UK citizens. As a US citizen traveling to France from London will I not be allowed in?

Covid Testing Requirements for train travel

Hello, my wife & I will be traveling next week & I wasn't sure what entry requirements that I see are applicable to train travel. We are taking the train from Germany to Switzerland to Italy. Will travel by train follow all of the same entry requirements as somebody traveling by plane?

Is it possible to ship your motorcycle on the same train you travel on?

I hope this is an appropriate question.  I am a motorcycle rider and hope to travel to Europe in a year or more.  I want to rent a motorcycle.  I have been on some motorcycle forums that seemed to indicate that some European residents had their motorcycle shipped on the same train they traveled on.  Is this possible?  How do I do it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Do I need a PCR test for Germany if I am transiting?

Hey everyone! I would like to ask a question regarding my upcoming trip from Stockholm to Zurich. So as for my trip, i saw that i will be passing by Germany and transfer to another train. I was wondering if i need to do a PCR test for Germany or there are exceptions as I’m just transiting. Thanks for your help!

Is UK closed to Eurostar from France due to COVID restrictions?

It’s been on the news that franz is closing its borders to UK travelers. But I just read on France 24 news that they are also banning travel from France into England for nonessential purposes such as travel or family visits.  first of all can anyone confirm that? Second I’m booked with Euro store on Monday but I’m wondering about trying to go Saturday instead. I assume it’ll have to just lose the other reservation fee and book a new train?

Covid Testing Requirements at Borders

Hi.  My wife and I are planning a trip throughout the EU this Spring.  While I fully understand that things will change between now and then, I am trying to understand the status now with respect to Covid Testing Requirements at the borders. We are fully vaxxed and boosted - I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT PROOF OF VACCINATION.  What I am wondering is if the trains are the same as planes - where you need to have a negative test result before entering a country.  Is there a similar requirement on the train?

Germany - anyone travel there now?

Curious if anyone is in Germany right now? I'm thinking about going there in mid January and just wanted to know on hand experience about the restrictions. I have read about them. Vaccine and mask. But I'm unsure about the quarantine? If anyone can tell a little about their current experience I'd appreciate it :)

What is it like moving between countries with COVID?

Hi there!I know just now maybe isn’t the best time to be thinking of this with the current border closures/quarantines etc, but does anyone know what it’s been like travelling between countries?I’m from the UK and hoping to go through Poland, Slovakia and Budapest next year at some point. Does anyone have any experience with what it’s been like travelling over the borders in relation to tests, vaccinations etc?  thank you!

Croatia

Suppose I am going to Croatia with my 6 friends, what would be the cheapest route that doesn’t take too long? We will start in Brussels, then go to Zagreb and stay there for a few days. Then we will continue our trip to Split. To go back to Belgium we will be going from Split to Brussels in one go. We are all under 26 if thats important for the prices.

Annecy to Geneva

The Eurail Planning app says there are half a dozen trains from Annecy France to Geneva Switzerland on Sunday. However, when I check the French Oui-scnf app, it shows no trains Trainline also shows no trains at all. A local fellow says there are no trains or not dependable, and recommends the bus. But the Eurail app still shows these train trips - they are TER (SCNF) trains with numbers and stops listed out.  Can anyone explain what is going on? Is the planning app wrong, or is SCNF wrong? I am not sure if the train office will be open on a Sunday to ask them.

Adding a trip with a transfer manually

I was planning my trip on the app, but one trip that I found with the trip planner online does not appear in the app. So I wanted to add it manually, but I was wondering how I should fill it in with a trip that has a transfer. Do I add the different trains individually or just from the beginning city to the last city? Thankyou :)

How do we PCR test as we travel through Europe?

Hi everyone, My friend and I were thinking of using our pass in the new year and was wondering how we can send our PCRs in advance to countries to prove that we are negative? Or were wondering how it would be possible at all to travel at this time considering the need for PCR testing in almost every country? Thanks, Ben

I am a vaccinated danish citizen, and i’am planning an interrail trip through germany, ending in Amsterdam, Holland. Should i be worried or get tested on the trip or is it enough being fully vaccinated.thanks

I am a US fully vaccinated citizen.  I will be in the UK this November 2021 traveling to France then back to the UK via train.What if any coivd testing requirements do I need to have. to enter France from UK and re-enter UK from France?

If i want to go to Brussels from Paris at 6 am and return at 11 pm (arriving at Paris 1 am of  the next day), counts as 2 trip days?
