Trains in Greece
Hi, I'm in Athens and I'm going to buy a Mobile Global-pass. I do not intend to travel in Greece by train but I am getting the ferry to Italy. As far as I understand it there will be no trains running in Greece for maybe the next month. Will I still be able to use my Mobile Interrail pass for the ferry from Patras without first using it for a Train journey?
adding journey to pass
Hi guys, I am a new Interrail pass user and I am a little confused ahahah I have activated my pass and have a validity date starting in summer. I have added journeys to the ‘my trip’ section of the app. However, I do not understand if I need to add/connect it to my pass (the toggle that turns from grey to orange on the right) at this stage? Or if I just do this the day of/day before the train?I am aware that during peak season you are advised to book reservations for certain trains (separate to the app) but wondered if I don’t add certain journeys to my pass, that this will mean tickets sell/run out too? Also, will seat reservations sell out? As I don’t want to book all of my trains right now but I know roughly which ones I would want to get?! Thank you and happy travels :)

Caledonian Sleeper reservation with Eurail Pass....
Hello everybody!Just joined the community and have a question about making reservations on the Caledonian Sleeper with the Global Eurail Pass. Went through the community posts on the topic and was able to select the “Room Supplement” option as advised by the community. However, the booking amount does not change much… The Club option amount comes down to GBP420 from 425 while the Classic option amount in fact goes up from GBP 290 to 300. What is even more strange is that the Seat option is “Sold Out” after selecting Room Supplement option. I have a Global Eurail Pass (2-month/First Class) for a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 & 8 years. Before selecting Room Supplement option: After selecting Room Supplement option:
Using up outbound/inbound connection as an afterwards 1 to 3 day getaway
I’m thinking about purchasing the 10 days in 2 months pass for travelling through Great Britain, starting in Luxembourg. My residency is Germany. In case I don’t use up all travel days in Great Britain, could the following be a possible scenario? During the span of 2 to 3 weeks:Luxembourg to LondonDifferent trips in GBLondon to Luxembourg Before the 2 months end as example:Hamburg - CopenhagenCopenhagen - Hamburg
Rail strikes and connections
Hello everyone,I'm a first time interrailer and had my first trip (from germany to the uk and back) all planned out when I ran into problems for my trip back due to the announced strikes in great britain. My intended itinerary had me taking a train from Leeds to London on the morning of the 30.3. and then the Eurostar to Paris at 17:31. Since this late train would make getting all the way home quite tight and depending on a lot of connections, so I opted for staying the night in Paris and taking the TGV to Freiburg at 17:25 on the 31.3.I'm travelling with a global pass and have already reserved the Eurostar as well as the TGV.With the now announced strikes I'm unsure how to proceed, as at the moment it looks like there will be a high possibility of no train running on the 30st from Leeds to London (there is no strike timetable yet) so I have no possibility of getting to London in time to get the Eurostar. What possibilities do I have here?I'd rebook to an Eurostar on the 31st, but there
Date d'achat pass jeunes
Ludovic
Oebb reservations for domestic italian trains
Two English retirees starting tomorrow on 2 month IST class interrail trip around EuropeAfter reading advice on here, I've used the oebb app to make 2 reservations for Italy1. Viareggio to Salerno on IC train. The app flagged up that mobile tickets were Not Available for this journey, which was contrary to our expectations. Tickets could only be via email and pdf to print out, or to collect in Austria. Maybe this is because they are domestic Italian trains. Does anyone know? 2. Venice to Innsbruck on EC train. Booking and reservation went fine, but seat selection is bad. Diagonally opposite each other on different sides of central gangway. Ie 3 seats apart!!Can this be changed in anyway, online or in person when we get to Venice. Thanks for any advice
urgently looking for an answer and look forward to hearing from you🤗
Heyy,I am currently in France for a year abroad (but have my official residence in Germany). Since I want to visit my family in Germany in May and then return after 10 days, I need two train tickets; from France to Germany and back... I was wondering if I might save by buying a global ticket for 4 days of travel within a month....Does anyone know if this would work? After all, I wouldn't be starting in my country of residence..., but I would still meet the requirement of only two travel days through my country of residence....I will be very happy if anyone can give me an answer soon 🏻Kind greetingsAlinaTranslated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
Ticket validation in Italy + recommendations
Hi, I’ve heard that in Italy (and elsewhere) you must validate your ticket unless you risk a fine of €200. How do we go about doing this with a mobile ticket or is our ticket already validated? Does anyone have any recommendations on where to travel to after visiting Florence? We plan on going to Salzburg or Vienna soon after but want to travel to one more place in Italy or even another country before we embark to Austria. Thank you in advance for your help!!
