I know the pass covers one inbound and one outbound trip from the home country but does the pass cover travel from any train station in one’s home country? In other words, if I want to travel from my home town (outside London) to Paris, would it cover the part from my home town to London on the same day that I would get a connecting train from London to Paris? Thanks

Hi! I'm travelling from Utrecht Centraal to Budapest in november and for my final train, from Vienna to Budapest, the website says I can't book a seat reservation. It says the prices are unavailable. Does anyone knows how this works? 1) Is it full? 2) Can I not book it in advance but is there still a chance I can take the train? 3) If I book a seat reservation on the site on this train company (https://www.cd.cz/en/), can I use that reservation to travel with my Interrail pass? On the website I have the option to book a ‘reservation only’, but will that allow me to hop on the train with my pass (and thus not pay the ticket)? Also, if I try to make this reservation the site says the train is temporarily unavailable.In at least one of the trains that are part of my journey (also if I switch to a different date) I have this problem.Also I was wondering in general if a certain train

Hello all, New world traveler here.  I just purchased 2 (5 days in a month) passes for a trip my wife and I will take the first week of December. A couple questions: Would it be best to make all the reservations and travel planning details while i have both passes in my possession (my Eurail account)? How do i transfer the wife’s pass, and associated reservations, to her account?Thanks in advance!

Hi all,I’ve never got an interrail ticket before and I’m just trying to check my understanding of the system.I’m going to Salamanca and back from Stroud in the UK. Am I right in thinking that a 4 day a month pass would get me from Stroud to Madrid, as long as I’ve reserved tickets on each service? (I’ve checked raileurope.com to verify the services exist and line up in a good way). I’m mainly asking as this seems like a cheaper way of travelling than just getting the return tickets. Is that right, or am I missing something?

My parents and I are traveling to Europe for the first time this November. In order to build paperwork for our Schengen visa application, I booked train seat reservations ahead of time. But because of some inconveniences regarding our visa application, I had to change booking our hotels. This means that, now, the current seat reservation for one of our rides (ICE 78) is on the “wrong” day. I’ve tried canceling or rescheduling the reservation, but I cannot. My sister suggests that I make a new reservation on the right day. What happens to the previous booking if we don’t ride it?

I have never done interrail/eurail before and I’m considering using it for an upcoming trip. I can’t seem to find an answer for the following (specific) scenario.Scenario: I have a 3 year old. I know she doesn’t need her own pass, and I know that I can get her the (free) pass for 4-11 year olds if I want to make a seat reservation. We want to take the train from London to Paris, and I don’t mind keeping her on my lap.Question: is seat reservation mandatory for my child on “seat reservation mandatory” train rides? Has anyone here been in this specific scenario? I’ve read a lot that seems to indicate she doesn’t need her own reservation, but nothing that explicitly says she won’t.

Hallo, wenn es genügt,den 1. Zug im Mobil-Pass für den Reisetage als Ticket zu aktivieren und ich kann den ganzen Tag damit fahren, warum lese ich dann von so vielen Zügen,die dazu getragen oder storniert wurden. Und worauf lasse ich mir im Bedarfsfall eine Umbuchung quittieren. 

I have a 4 day pass that I will be using 3 days of for a trip from the UK to Spain - and flying home. Is it possible to use the final day on the Interrail ticket, within the month, when we have returned, to travel from Manchester to London? Or must I travel out of the UK?I’d like to use it in one day if possible. 

Can I travel multiple times between Amsterdam and Bruxelles with monthly Benelux interrail pass with 6 travel days? 

I was travelling on the EC310 from Venice to Zurich, however the entire train was told to deboard in Padua and board another to Milan, which I am currently on. They could not give any more information about connecting to Zurich. The only direct train from Milan to Zurich was the EC310 we got off, and the others we might reach in time have multiple connections with short transfers. Does anyone know if they will provide a continuation of our previous train (Venice to zurich EC310 ) once we reach Milan? Or does it mean that train is no longer valid and we will need to try take another with multiple connections. Also will our current tickets be valid if we have to take one of those other trips? Hi, I’m traveling from the U.S. in 2 weeks and have the 7 trips in a month global Eurail pass but cannot seem to reserve seats online. Is this an issue I’d like to book ahead so I can be safe? If not will I be able to reserve seats in person? Any help I could get would be great! Thanks. Best,Sam

I’m using my Eurail pass for a trip from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverly on Oct 2 and returning October 5, 2023.   It looks like a strike and maintenance will cause “reduced services” and possibly some cancelled trains.  I made seat reservations via GWR a couple of months ago for both trips.  Typically, when there is a strike or maintenance causing service disruptions, do Eurail pass holders get bumped in favor of ticket holders who have paid full fair?   Or can I count on my seat reservations (which were free) to be valid?   If the train I am scheduled to take gets cancelled, but there are other trains operating, are my Eurail pass and seat reservations going to help me get on another train or are pass holders out of luck when strikes and maintenance curtail services?  I have first class global pass, does that help?  Any insights would be appreciated.   What a way to start my 3-month journey!

I’m arriving from the Philippines and will be activating my 3-month Eurail pass on Sat. Sept 30 when I arrive.  I was planning on taking Thameslink to Finsbury Park Station using the pass, but I am encountering conflicting information from multiple sources that is made more complicated by a strike and “Planned Industrial Action!” on Sept. 30.  The Eurail site is showing “EXP” is available from Gatwick to Finsbury.  I think “EXP” is the Thameslink, but I’m not sure as Google Maps shows Thameslink and Gatwick Express are different. Google is showing no Thameslink service on this route on Sept 30.  National Railway is still selling tickets for this route, but it is via Southern Services to Victoria and then tube to Finsbury (so I take it the Thameslink is not operational on this route Sep 30?).   I think I can use the Eurail pass on Southern service from Gatwick to Victoria, but Eurail site is showing “EXP” connects Victoria and Gatwick.  This is all very confusing and before I “wing i

Im looking at the trip from Munich to the Zugspitze railway area.I have seen the winter ticket allows a return trip to from Munich for around  70 eurosIs the rail portion from Munich covered on a Eurail pass at all allowing me to only buy a Zugspitze ticket to go up and down using all 3 rail systems which im thinking would be slightly cheaper or is the whole journey not covered at all meaning i have to buy the whole Zugspitze rail journey separately

Hey, I was trying to reserve seats for my upcoming France trip. To do so the rail planner app always transfers me to the eurail website. The problem is: The website wants me to login with „the account I used to purchaisr the pass“. Bit I didn’t buy the pass, I won the „Interrail German French“ pass. So I have no account connected to that pass. If I create a new account with the email address I got the pass send to, the website tells me „no pass connected“ and theres no possibility to connect my app or my pass to it. It also says that it’s not possible to get reservations without a valid pass connected. Does anyone know what I did wrong and how to go from here? I‘m getting a little bit desperate since the trip is very spontaneous and starts soon.

I have eurail global pass and I am trying to reserve seat but it shows not available on eurail website. I tried DB webiste to book seat only and it was showing that seats are unavailable. But, when I tried to book tickets through DB website it says seats are available. How do I reserve seats for my trip ?   Sorry, I am new and I did not know that I had to reserve seats few months in advance. Looking forward for your suggestion. 

I’ve got a 5 Day within a month Interrail Global Pass and so has my mum. I’m trying to reserve seats for us on the Hamburg to Stockholm 22:01-09:56 train on the 11th of October. Everything I have read tells me to not use the eurail/interrail website to book reservations as they are normally less on the train company’s website. So I looked at sj.se and put in the passes for us both and have the following options:Seat: 330SEK (£24.60)Couchette: 770SEK (£57.40)Sleeping compartment: 1,660SEK (£123.74)Whole compartment: 1,654SEK (123.29) When I look at the Interrail.eu website I get the following:Seat: £11.36Couchette: £22.36Sleeper (2 in a 3 bed I think?): £45.52Is there a reason that the interrail prices are so much less? Somewhere I read that it was doubled on checkout and it was for one person only but then I removed one of us and the prices halved. Is there a catch I’m not understanding with the interrail websit

HI :) Help needed…I’m trying to get a reservation on the connection Paris St.Lazare - Cherbourg for 4 persons, but interrail tells me “prices are unavailable” (as for my understanding meaning the interrail contingency is full).Is there another way to find a reservation or are we just out of luck?We need to catch the ferry, so we’re not overly flexible…Any help appreciated! :)Regards,Sandra

My sweetheart and I are visiting Germany and Italy in September/October. Should we purchase a 3 day Eurail pass from DB to travel from Frankfurt to Munich on the 21st and then Munich to Venice on the 23rd or buy individual tickets? I’ve heard you can buy a “Twin Pass” to save money also. I haven’t seen them on the DB site though. Whats the best way….Will we need to make seat reservations for the Venice trip on TrenItalia?Any advice is appreciated...Thank youNorman

on page with how to book seat reservations on your train journey, it says:“When does this service run?not every day, 9. Oct until 8. Dec 2023; not 13., 14., 21. Oct, 2., 3., 10. Nov”  - what is meant by this!? - which part of which service??
