Get ready to travel
To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Hello, I have to book a ticket from Bozen to Munich with the EC 82 . The train is fully booked for the 2nd class. My questions are:I have a 2nd class global pass, may I face issues if I pay additional price for 1st class Even if 2nd class is fully booked, OBB website forces me to buy this € 10,00 reservation . But I don’t get for what I should pay if I don’t even get a seat. The eurail/interrail website doesn’t tell me I have to reserve something for this route.I attach the screenshot
Hello! Newbie to rail travel and I’m trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B and when I need to book a reservation. I purchased a 5 day Eurail pass for myself and my daughter. I have read that it is possible to get around the UK without train reservations but I’m struggling with when I need to have a seat reservation and when I can use the Rail Planner app on the day of travel. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve left it to last minute if I need to book a reservation because I see many options are not available now. This trip was fairly last minute to begin with so I’m trying to make it work! :-) I only booked my airfare less than 2 weeks ago!I have booked and paid for a seat reservation on Eurostar for the trip from Paris to London and back. So yay! I’ve got that arranged. No other train travel or hotels have been booked/reserved yet. When I search for train times, ALL the trains are “Not available from Eurail.com.” Both those requiring a seat reservation and those not re
Dear Interrailers,we are planning our trip through europe. We want to buy the 3 month global pass but we have to choose between 1st or 2nd class.Beside the mentioned benefits on the homepage I have one question. We want to be flexible and therefore we will choose our train connections only a few days before the train ride. Sometimes there are no seats left in trains. Is it more likely to get a reservation in the first class? Does anybody has experiences with the 1st class and reservations?Thank you for you help. Kind regards
Hello, I’m in the middle of my trip and it seems like I can’t add journeys to my trip anymore. iOS version 15.4.1 app version 23.1.0.In the planner when I click on “save journey” I get the confirmation of saved to trip but when going to the trip there is nothing new there.I have tried:Force quitting the app Restarting the device Reinstalling the appNone of these are letting me get anything new on my trip. What else should I do?
My two 90 day global passes are on my iphone. But the phone continues to have problems and finally Apple will replace it. However they don’t stock American phones in European stores so I need to wait roughly a week for them to ship a replacement to this Apple store. I don’t even have an exact date. In the meantime, we will be moving on to some new cities. I will be waiting for Apple to call me to know when to come pick up the new phone. Apple refuses to have it delivered to an Apple store in the new region, so I will have to come all the way back to get the new phone. When I get a new phone I will probably lose the authorization for the Eurail Pass since it’s locked into the old phone. so that means that when I leave the Apple store and try to get back to the city that we’re currently staying in I won’t have a Rail Pass anymore until Eurail can give me a new authorization. They responded pretty quickly within a few hours when apple erased the phone trying to fix it a few weeks ago. Bu
Hello I am travelling to Europe for month and a half in april. I wanted to buy the Global pass of 2 months. The thing is that in my trip I go to Greece and I saw that there is a 6 day Greek Island pass too that give a free ticket from italy to greece and another from greece to italy and discounts on the greek islands. If I buy the global pass, it also includes the benefits of the greek islands one?
We are a family of four, two children aged 8 and 11 and two adults. We wanted to take an Interrail trip, excited about traveling by train and trusting that it would be pleasant and fun. How wrong we were! Our experience has been horrible. We have taken 8 trains and we have had delays in 5! the shortest 45 minutes, the longest 160! Because of this we have lost the link with the following trains, so we lost the seat reservations we had in first class. Result: on one occasion we had to travel in the train bar, on another we had to spend the night (9 hours!) in a seat despite having reserved beds. I insist: with two small children. If you don't trust our words, take a look at Interrail's compensation policy: they do not compensate any delay of less than 60 minutes. Because? obvious: because there are so many, they would lose money. And the biggest delays equally at ridiculous prices. But that is not all! Changes in train schedules without prior notice, mistreatment by train and station sta
Hello, me and my friends are currently booking trains for our route and were worried about short transfer times - we were wondering what the difference is between a ‘short transfer’ and a ‘transfer by foot’ and are these usually safe to do or quite risky?Thank you!
Hi everyone, I have a two month interrail pass and it is valid for another 1.5 months as of today. I recently used the pass for a journey which was more than an hour late. Should I wait till end of my pass for compensation of the delay (I plan to travel during the coming days), or can I do it already? Note: I know it's technically possible, but I'm looking for suggestions and best practice :)
Hello! I’m studying abroad at in England this year and have a student visa residency card. By the time I’m looking to travel (March-April) I’ll have been here for 6 months. Should I buy a Interrail or a Eurail pass? I know that to buy Eurail you have to be outside of Europe, which I will not be, but my passport is American. Thanks for the help!
I have contacted Interrail for changing to an earlier Eurostar train at the same time. However, they have not responded, is there a way of changing the ticket? How does Interrail respond fast? Also, can the starting date of an Interrail Pass be potentially be changed to a day earlier?
Hi All, I'm trying to travel from Munich to Zagreb via the overnight EuroNight 40237 train on February 4th but when I try to buy from the ÖBB website it's saying there are no options available in all of the options (seats, couchettes, sleepers). I've tried other dates, varying from today to the end of February and none of them seem to have any options so I don't think the trains are sold out. Additionally I've tried changing the starting location to Salzburg but it's still the same outcome. Is there some issue with the ÖBB website? Thanks :))
My App is completely stuffing up!!! Firstly, I am unable to view all my Saved Journey’s in My Trip. Sometimes I will save a journey, and then when I go to view it, it is not there!!Secondly, when I try to book a journey and add it to My Pass, it will add it initially, then later when I check it has completely disappeared!! I am using a Flexi Pass, and it is almost impossible to add 2 journeys to one travel day, as either one of the journey’s always keeps disappearing. This is very very frustrating as I don’t have a valid ticket for the trains I need to catch TOMORROW!!!! I need help ASAP, I will be unable to travel tomorrow if this is not fixed URGENTLY.
I’m thinking of getting the 10 days in 2 months pass so would the route Berlin- Brussels- paris- Zurich- bled- Zagreb- Budapest- Bratislava- Vienna- krakow- Prague be within the 10 travel day allowance? Or do train connections in one journey take up your travel day? For example, Budapest-Bratislava with 3 change overs, do the change overs come in with the 1 travel day or do they count as separate journeys?
I am trying to understand what you get with the First Class Eurail Global Pass ticket. We will be travelling from London to Rome via train from the last week of April through to Mid May (a little over 3 weeks). We are going from London - Brussels - Paris - Geneva - Zurich - Venice - Florence - Rome - Amsterdam. We have not yet purchased our global pass, but If we purchase first class global pass do we still have to pay for the standard or first class seat reservations? For example, the app states that we have to pay an additional 44 dollars per person for first class tickets on the Eurostar from London to Brussels. Similar examples of needing to pay for a seat reservation include the trip from Paris to Geneva and all the trips in Italy. If we purchase a First Class Global pass would we still have to pay these seat reservations and if so would they be less than what is shown in the App?
April/May we will travel through Europe. One of the routes we are planning to do is Vilnius to Krakow. I’m figuring out how to book a seat reservation for this train. (for April 25 – connection: Depart 12.10 Vilnius (IC 143), 1 transfer in Mockova Arrival 23.39 in Krakow) We do have a 2 month pass so remarks about taking a bus instead are not very relevant.(although for Talinn-Riga and Riga-Vilnius we will take the bus) There is a daily connection leaving 12.10 and arriving 23.37 with 1 change in Mockava (LT). See seat61 whichs is trusthworthy and valuable info. https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-routes/warsaw-to-vilnius-by-train.htm He also indicates tickets can be booked 30 days in advance. I checked the ltglink website and this is correct. (I found out when booking online a ticket for this train you cannot choose Interrail as a discount so I think a seat reservation through the Lithuanian website isn’t possible) To check how to book I used several dates in the oncoming 4 weeks so I k
I am from UK and have schengen visa for short term. I am travelling 1st time via interrail pass. When we go from one schengen country to another schengen country via train, is there an immigration check done while entering that country e.g.- from barcelona(spain) to nimes (france) to lyon (france): will there be an immigration/passport check and stamp at each schengen country and do we need to consider having additional hourse in between legs in that case? Please help.ThanksPriyanka
I am using the b-europe website to book several train trips. There are three people in my party, and we all have the global eurail pass, and have activated our passes in the rail app. When I choose an interinary using b-europe, it is not using our passes to reduce the price of each reservation. I DO NOT SEE a place to enter our pass numbers. My question is: WHERE DO I ENTER OUR EURAIL PASS INFORMATION INTO THE B-EUROPE WEBSITE so that it accounts for the fact that we have the pass? I’m have spent 6-7 hours each day this week trying to get this to work. I’m hoping someone can offer me a very step by step guided tutorial on where I enter our pass info. I have a profile created for each of the people in my party and see several other options for pass numbers to be entered (Eurostar, Thaylus, etc) but nowhere to enter the info on our eurail passes. HELP!
