To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Hello.I am based in Manchester, England and we are travelling using the eurostar to Paris and back through Brussels using the eurostar once we have finished our 1 month trip.I understand the pass includes in INBOUND & 1 OUTBOUND journey from the UK what is not clear is does this include trains from Manchester aswell as the eurostar which will be taking us out of the UK to Paris? For example to get to Manchester to the eurostar it is 2 trains THEN the eurostar & the same on the return to the UK.Will my ticket be valid for these journeys before the eurostar or will I need to but separately directly from Avanti? Thanks.
Hello everyone!I want to make a trip to 2 countries and start and end in my home country Germany with the 4 day Global Pass.My 4 traveldays are:Cologne to Marseille via France. Marseille to Florence +4 Florence to Hamburg (2days, one outbound one inbound)Is this possible? Because to me it seems so that thanks to the condition of the global pass i can only make trip which are originating from my homecountry or going to my homecountry. Thanks for your help!If the global pass does not count inbound than that's fine too I just don't understand if I can travel from France to Italy.
I last used an Interrail 30 years ago as a young man, I’d love to go again with my son, but the awful ‘reservations’ problems that I’ve been learning about on almost all trains in France and Spain (also elsewhere) is making me think twice!!I really don’t mind paying E10 for a reservation on a high speed French train or E8 for a Spanish train, but the huge bureaucracy involved just to make a reservation seems ridiculous, in 2022! Phone calls, ticket offices, calling German railways, Belgian railway website, cover numbers, what the hell is going on! Without reservations you can’t easily plan - OK if you’re a student with 3 months to spare, not so good if you’ve only got 7-10 days. However, I do understand that Interrail Management can’t control the policies of national railways. So the main subject of this post is: are the Interrail Management aware that there are 2 simple things they could do to make their customers’ lives much, much easier? Yes - their customers!Update the app to allow
I am able to see and book a train reservation on the night train from Split to Budapest (1205 ADRIA INTERCITY) on the MAV (Hungarian) website. It does not appear on the app though. New Eurail pass user. So confused!I have searched topics but can’t find the answer.
We bought First Class flexible mobile pass with 7 days of travel within a month. Many things are going wrong with trying to use the Rail Planner app. I can seek out a route, add it to trips as a journey, but when I try to connect it to a travel day in my Pass, iI can’t connect the trips to the mobile pass. And when I try to connect a journey, it only gives me the option of a paper pass. Other weird things are going wrong, too. I activated the pass on the first day of desired travel, but it won’t let me add the journey to the first day, and counts that first trip as using two travel days, even though I have repeatedly erased the trip and started from scatch again! I have wasted hours already trying to get the app to work. We were able to make a reservation for a high speed train (paying extra), and did it through Eurail, but it isn’t added to our passes as a travel day and I can’t figure out how to do it. We travel soon, and I really wish I had a paper Eurail pass instead of this
Hello - We have a global pass and we are currently in the US. We are trying to book the 11:22am - 6:20pm trip from Prague to Budapest on November 17th in First Class but it is requiring seat reservations. We tried to book that online but apparently it is paper tickets only and we received a message telling us that we can't book this online because the paper tickets can't get to us on time. Is there any way that we can book our seat reservations now without paper tickets?
I am new and still confused what exactly “activating” my pass means. I understand that I have to fill in some more information and that I will be able to change my starting date before said that. But can I also deactivate the pass again and get the 85% refund if I decide to return it before my starting date?
I live in Germany, not so far from the Dutch border. I want to travel to Italy and France this summer, but start from Amsterdam as the nightjet starts from there. I rashly booked an expensive holiday house last night, after working out that me and the family could have some fun with an Interrail ticket and visit a few places on the way. I went to book the Interrail ticket and saw the home country travel rule. Oh! Now I think it might not be possible to holiday as i’d planned so I really need your help. The plan is to leave on a Wednesday, from where I live in Germany (near the Dutch border) to Amsterdam to catch the nightjet NJ40295 that evening. This goes direct to Munich overnight, arrives Thursday morning. I need to be in Munich for the connection to Milan on Thursday evening, also a nightjet, so arriving on Friday morning. Have I already reached my home country travel limit? I mean, i’m just leaving the country, but it takes a long long time in that direction! And I still need to g
Hi travelers! This summer, me and my brother are going on a trip to Spain and Portugal. On our 5th travel day we would like to take the night train from Madrid to Lisbon. We know this train exists, but cannot find any available reservation options. Does anyone have experience taking this night train? And do you might have any tips on how, where and when to book this train? Thank you in advance! And have a great trip y’all 🚋 Best, Bruno and Timon

Hello guys :)I want to book my first pass here in eurail.I want to visit Igoumenitsa in Greece. I searched the map and Igoumenitsa is listed as the destination. However, I cannot specify Igoumenitsa as a destination in the travel times section (no trains are found). Are there any tricks to reach Igoumenitsa anyway with a Global pass? The algorithm found a route to Bari. I would need a ferry than to reach Igoumenitsa. Do I have to book the ferry then spontaneously? When “yes”, can I be sure, that my Europass is counting for the ferry? Thanks for your help in advance!
Hello! My parents and I are taking a trip to Europe next week. We purchased a 1st class EURail pass and have been booking the train rides that require reservations. Toward the end of our trip, we are taking night trains. I saw there are multiple sleeping arrangements available for purchase on the night trains. Could someone explain the difference between the 1st class 3 person sleeper and the 2nd class 3 person sleeper? For another one of our train rides, there is not a 3 person sleeper available and there is only a 4-person berth available for the night train. If we purchase the 4-person berth, will they fill the 4th spot or is there a way we could get the 4 person berth for only three of us? Also, will my dad be separated from my mom and I on gender-specific berths? Thanks so much!
Is it still to early? (Going 30th May...)I have planned all the trips, paid for the interrail pass and used the my rail planner to plan which trains to book. It passed me onto a different website to book and says for any and all trains for where we are going, no matter the time or day cant be booked. I am getting worried as its getting closer and has been saying this for a while now. This is the message for every single train and there are no trains when I have searched no reservations needed.‘Prices unavailableNo price results were found for this connection. It is possible that all pass holder seats are sold out. Please try searching for another connection or check 'More information' and try other ways to book this seat reservation. If no pass holder seats are available anymore you need to buy a separate full fare ticket to board.’
I have a question regarding seat reservations. I am planning to travel from 26-06 untill 07-07 through Scandinavia. For this I bought the interrail global pass. Now I wanted to look to make seat reservations for the trains, but there is not possibility to reserve any seats on the tracks I want. They all show an exclamation mark on the site and when I look on the other site, like for example for Sweden, it says 'not available'.I looked for seats on the track Stockholm to Kopenhagen (29-06), Copenhagen to Gothenburg (02-07) and Gothenburg to Oslo (04-07). I thought everything would be fine as I looked up train times before buying the pass, but now I cannot reserve seats so that would mean I got the pass and booked flights for nothing. Or is this because it is still so far away and will there be seats available later? I would like to know more about this. I hope someone can help me and inform me about this. Thanks in advance.
Hello all, I am planning a reservation in which requires a printed ticket. I live in the US so don’t have the option to get it delivered directly to me. What are your recommendations in obtaining the ticket? I read that some got it delivered to them in Europe at the hotel/hostel they are staying at days before their trip as they were already in Europe (this is possible for me as I will be in Europe prior to the departure date). Should I just do this? Or is there a better option?
Hello!I am trying to book seat reservations on the Interrail website. The train I would like to book (a TGV Paris-Karlsruhe) is shown as “Not available”. At first I thought the train might be full, but then I also checked other dates (every day of the week) and other cities (Stockholm to Malmö, Hamburg to Karlsruhe or to Amsterdam, etc...)Every single train I checked, regardless of time of day, date or city, is shown as “Not available”.Is there anything wrong with the website or the interface, or am I missing something? For information; I tried on both Chrome and Firefox, as well as the app. I have a valid mobile pass, bought at the end of June, which I will start using next week. I am booking only for myself.Or perhaps I need to add the travel days to the mobile pass first?I’m thankful for any help or tips!Cheers,
Dear Intervall team,I have a question concerning my trip to Venice. I will take the train the 14th of April from Berlin to Venice. Departure time from Berlin is 7:37h. Arrival time is 23h50 in St. Lucia (Venice). The Interrail homepage says that I have to book reservations for this trip. I called the Deutsche Bahn and asked them. They informed me that for none of these trains a reservation is actually necessary, but optional. I would be greatful if you could answer me regarding this matter, as the trip moves closer. Also, unfortunately the trip does not appear in the Application. So I ask myself how am I supposed to add this trip when its not in the App? (I have a mobile pass). In general, the planning with your homepage is really complicated as the informations concerning the trips are often not correct. Up to date information is only on the homepage of the deutsche bahn. Unfortunately, as a customer it is also not possible to talk to someone of your team via phone in a more direct way
I have the same issue as Pia with Step 3 of the Activation process! What was the solution for Pia?I note that my ID/ Passport details are not visible in my Order Overview, which is probably the reason why all my password attempts are being rejected when I try to enter my passport number.URGENT: I need a quick solution as I need to activate my Pass on 5 JulyRemarksI do not recall ever having created a password for using the app, only a password for My Interrail Account, so it seems strange to ask the user to enter a password that was never created! There does not seem to be a place in My Interrail Account to add/change a password, or what the current password is. This is not user-friendly.
Hello,I have bought 1st class interrail passes (x2) to travel in France in July.I have been able to book reservations for trains such as Eurostar or TGV no problem. However, I am trying to book reservation for the NOMAD train from Paris Gare St Lazarre to Cherbourg and back and got the dreaded message:Prices unavailableNo price results were found for this connection. It is possible that all pass holder seats are sold out. Please try searching for another connection or check 'More information' and try other ways to book this seat reservation. If no pass holder seats are available anymore you need to buy a separate full fare ticket to board. I have contacted the SNCF who directed me to TER Normandie. One client adviser said that I could not book reservation while another one said it was possible. A quick search on sncf booking service shows that yes, reservations are doable as the screenshot attest. I have an inner ear disability and must be seated on train hence why I am trying to book
