Hi. We have 1st class global Eurail passes. On our first Thalys route reservation (through eurail.com) we are offered 1st class — Pass (AC) Premium and 1st class — Pass (HB) Comfort, both for the same reservation price. Is Premium the same as Comfort, except for food is offered? Is there an extra charge for the food, collected on the train? Is there any downside to choosing Premium? (I tried the Thalys site but couldn’t figure it out).
I am taking the Eurostar tomorrow - From Brussels to London with connections up from Germany using two ICE trains. I know there have been many cancellations and problems with these ICE trains recently, especially between Frankfurt and Brussels. The one I need to take was cancelled today for sure!There is an alternate route (via Aachen and Welkenraedt) which I will take if there are problems. With this though it is likely I will miss my reserved Eurostar. I have 2 questions!What is the policy for missed connections onto Eurostar? If the ICE trains are delayed / cancelled, will Eurostar put my on next available train, even if travelling with Eurail/Interrail? If so, how do I prove that I was intending to take these trains?! With a “normal” ticket, this is easy to show. But with a mobile Eurail ticket I will have to completely remove the affected trains from my planner / ticket in order to add the new (later) trains that I must take. Thanks!
Dear Community, I’m about to leave on my trip to Italy and just wanted to ask (and/or confirm) a few things to ensure my understanding of this process is correct. I have read some of the other posts related to mine, but just wanted to double check. On the Rail Planner app, I tried to look at train times for 9 September (Thursday) at 9 pm, but when the results show up, it gives me 8 September (Wednesday)….?? Why is that? Does this have to do with the time difference between Italy and California (where I currently am)?  Is it only possible to book reservations via Eurail.com website or the Rail Planner app? Is it possible to book reservations in person at the train stations? (e.g. when I fly into Fiumicino Aeroporto I won’t necessarily know how long immigration and customs will take, so it would be hard to anticipate which train I’ll be able to board). Would train station personnel accept the Eurail Pass on my Rail Planner app?  Does the TrenItalia app communicate at all w
Hello everyone!I want to make a trip to 2 countries and start and end in my home country Germany with the 4 day Global Pass.My 4 traveldays are:Cologne to Marseille via France. Marseille to Florence +4 Florence to Hamburg (2days, one outbound one inbound)Is this possible? Because to me it seems so that thanks to the condition of the global pass i can only make trip which are originating from my homecountry or going to my homecountry.Thanks for your help!If the global pass does not count inbound than that's fine too I just don't understand if I can travel from France to Italy.
Hello everyone! I have received the DiscoverEU ticket, so therefore now I have the option to choose between flexible and fixed travel.I’m almost 100% sure to be taking the flexible option, but I’ve been struggling with the 251€ “budget”. I don’t get if (within a Travel Day) I can hop on ALL the trains I want, or either need to be writing down how much does each train cost and be careful about it?So that if I spend 200€ travelling to Sweden (for example), do i need to add 200-51 = 149€ of my own wallet for the journey back?
I want to pay in CAD or EUR but the website is only in USD when I go to make a reservation on my phone. Can anyone help me with changing the currency from USD? There is the option on desktop version but I do not have a computer accessible as I am travelling, and the desktop view does not display on my phone.
Once upon a time with an Interrail Pass one just entered where one was going and got on board. Total flexibility. But now everything is digital and limited and needs to be booked ahead and printed out….. I have bought a pass and wish to reserve a place from Brussels to Valence, from there to Barcelona, from there to Madrid. But despite going to the web page for ‘Book reservations’ I only get a red blob telling me that no Trips are entered; I have created a Trip entry but this repeats. The ‘timetable’ I fill in with date and time of planned journey does not then go dark to allow one to press a ‘Search’ or anything similar, just brings me back in a continuous loop to where I already was. This is frustrating. I see from other people’s comments that they, too, have difficulties with making a reservation. What should one do?
Hi community, I am planning a trip where I need to travel from the UK to France (via Eurostar) on a specific day - 12th September 2022.I am aware that I need to have a reservation to travel on the Eurostar with an Interrail pass. However, when I try to use the reservation tool to check if reservations, I’m not sure because it says the pass reservations have ‘mostly sold out’ - I only need 1 so as long as they are not completely sold out I’m fine!? I don’t want to get a pass until I know I can travel. I have read some other threads in the forum about using the rail operators websites to check reservation there but as far as I understand Eurostar does not sell reservations without tickets. Tickets available but that doesn’t mean they would have Interrail reservations.
I’ve bought a pass at this point and understand generally how to use it and the concept of reservations. However, what I’d like to know is when, when I don’t have a reservation, is my seat confirmed/reserved? When I’m on the train? Do I then not make it on if reservations fill up or others with the EURAIL pass beat me to boarding?
Hi, I have a global pass and I am planning a train trip from Genoa to Paris on July 18th. The trip includes a stopover and using the Interrail booking tool I was able to book the Genoa-Nice route but not the Nice-Paris route. The site tells me this message: "not available from interrail.eu this seat reservation can’t be booked on our website.". How can I book this ticket? I do not live in France and it is not possible for me to go to the station in advance, except on the day of the journey when I arrive in Nice from Genoa, but I am afraid of not finding more seats that can be reserved. The train is the TGV 6162 INOUI at 14:16 on 18 July
I am having a terrible time trying to contact customer service. No telephone numbers or email address, no response on twitter or chat… :( I just booked interrail tickets for my family yesterday and chose mobile passes as I thought it would be easier and we don’t have much time for them to be posted, but didn’t realise that the passes can’t be moved from devices. During the two months my husband and I will be travelling separately with our children at different points so we have a problem. I need to see if I can switch to paper passes but we leave next week so it is now quite urgent, hence why I am getting frustrated at the inability to reach any sort of customer service. Does anyone know an email address or telephone number that works? Thank you! And happy travels!
I have purchased and activated a 3 day in 1 month Poland Mobile Interrail Pass in first class. The activation process went smoothly. I added my 1st travel day and selected the itinerary. I was able to display the barcoded ticket. With this I obtained my reservations for my journey to Gdańsk from Warsaw.The next day on the morning of travel the pass had disappeared from the app. It was prompting me to add a pass (which of course I already had without issue). The only way to have the pass reappear was to delete and reinstall the app. The pass is now showing but it will not let me add any journeys and will not display a barcoded ticket for the pass. I am furious. There is no support and no advice from Eurrail whatsoever. Reading the terms and conditions they try and wash their hands of ANY problems with the app. Basically you are on your own subject to being fined by the train operator because you cannot provide a valid ticket because the app is faulty and useless.
