Hugo, our Eurail/Interrail Product Specialist, seasoned traveler and self-labeled train nerd, had the opportunity to ride the European Sleeper on their inaugural trip in June. We sat down with him to get all the details about the train and the route. What was the first thing that left an impression on you?It is a classic train. The sleeper cars were built in the 50’s, and most of them have a window you can open. Train lovers will definitely love this feature. The views were excellent. These old trains are rare so this is a unique train to travel on. By taking the European Sleeper, you can see Western and Eastern Europe on the same trip! How were the staff onboard?Super friendly and professional! They welcomed passengers on board and explained how everything worked. They were more like hosts than train staff, which was great for newbies. Did they serve food and drinks?Yes, offerings included soft drinks, a weizen, and croissants for breakfast. There was no dining car, so passengers had
On 25 June I'll take the train from Zurich HB to Amsterdam Centraal, at 20:15. I've purchased the seat reservation on the DB website, and on the pdf file I've received it says that my train is called "IC60402" and it will arrive at 9:20am on 26 june. ButThe DB navigator app shows "ic60402 / nj402" and it says it arrives to Amsterdam at 9:20am.Yet the Interrail app shows only "nj402" and it says it reaches Amsterdam at 9:14amAnd the obb website shows two different trains but with same details except for the train name. My question is: are the ic60402 and the nj402 the same train with different names (or something like that)?I'll explain my doubt better: can I use the qr code (on the interrail app) for that nj train that arrives at 9:14amORshould I add my trip with the ic60402 manually? (since on the interrail app, just updated, my precise trip is not showed yet) Please help me to understand, thank you!
Hello,Going from Berlin to Amsterdam in June. A reservation is recommended, but not required. Is it a good idea to book a seat? If we do not reserve a seat, will we still be able to find a seat once we board the train? That is, does a ticket guarantee a seat, or do they sell more tickets than there are seats available?Thank you!
Hello, does anyone know if it is posible to order a seat reservation from interrail, and get the reservation ticket as a pdf, instead of sent to me by mail? I unfortunately do not have time to get the reservation by mail, So I would need it to print instead..
Hello, I need some help. Me and my partner bought the interrail pass 2nd class. We are currently in Vienna and we want to travel to Paris. When we go online to check the trains we have option to reserve 2nd and 1st class seat reservation . The ammount payble for each class looks the same. The question is if is possible to reserve the 1st class seats and using our passes? If not why are we allowed the option to select 1st class seat reservation. thank you!
I bought a Global Pass, then choose the Mobile option instead of the “paper” one. Then, I also bought seat reservations. After that, in the Rail Planner app I added and activated the pass. Now, I am trying to link the seat reservations I bought to the Pass in the Rail Planner app. Any luck yet. What I am trying to avoid is to print all the seat reservations, that is why I originally decided to use the Mobile app. Is the a way to do this?
Hi,I’m planning to travel through Italy with Interrail pass during summer and I’m wondering if these “Regionale Veloce” trains require a compulsory reservation. According to the Interrail timetable (see the picture), it does require a reservation, but according to other sources, Regionale and Regionale Veloce trains doesn’t require a reservation. Another interesting fact is that it doesn’t provide the price of the reservation, so I’m really confused.Thank you for your answer.
I bought the global Eurail pass. It’s the Mobile version. I knew some trains required reservations (didn’t realize nearly all do). I’m uncertain how to book these and don’t want to pay more than I need to. I can see my pass and I have “my journey” saved. There’s a button on the top right of each leg I can click to turn on. I’m not sure what exactly this is though as it doesn’t buy a ticket or reserve a seat, so what’s the purpose? I also am seeing different times/routes on different sights. For example, I saw a London to Amsterdam on May 2nd at 11am on one site, but can’t find it on the Eurail App. I’m not sure if there’s different trains or what? I also notice there is 1st comfort and 1st class premium? I also see some tickets they mail to you?? If seats are selling out, I’d like to buy them in advance (do have 1 overnight train). However, I was also hoping to be as flexible as possible. For example, if I wanted to leave somewhere a day or two early to explore somewhere
I am unable to make a reservation using the reservation features on Eurail. All trains are booked. However, when I go to the SNCF site, there are available trains. Can I book directly with SNCF using my Eurail pass? If so, how? Customer service is all in French and was not helpful.
Hello,Last week i started my interrail trip from Vienna - city of residence - to Stuttgart. I was using one of my inbounds/outbounds and everything was fine so far. Today I tried to book my trains to France and realized that the country of residence, mentioned on my pass is Germany - maybe cause I have German id, but just living here for summer -. Is there any chance to change the county of residence after already activating the pass? Would be really helpful cause I planned Germany as the spot where I will start all my travels.thanks
Hi I'm trying to book seat reservations for 6 people from Lausanne to Paris at 9:45am on 11 August. I get to the last stage of checkout and get a red error message saying 'one of the legs of your journey could not be booked. This is the only journey in my cart. I've tried many times and just keep getting the same error. I don't understand as the website says seats are available? I also get the same problem if I try to book the train from Geneva or a train from Lausanne at a different time on the same day.Can anyone help? Thanks
Hallo All,I will be travelling from Munich to Salzburg via BRB train using the 9 euro ticket this August 2022.I just wanna ask if I need to buy another ticket going back from Salzburg to Munich?
