How would it work if the country of residence, like the Netherlands, has electronic gates when you exit the station and return later to catch the next train?
It is stated on the web that the global pass can be used to travel in one’s country of residence during 1 outbound and 1 inbound trip per travel day. I have some questions about the technicality. The “Travel Diary” example lists “Brighton-London St Pan” as an example for the in/outbounds. This is strange in itself, since they are both in the same country, UK/England. In the case someone wants to travel from Station A1 to Station B, via Station A2 in the same country as Station A1, and it is the country of residence → Does he/she have to write A1 - A2 then A2-B separately in the “My Trip” section, or just “A1 - B”? Can the holder exit station A2 in the process and return later to catch the next train to Station B? If the answer is yes, how it would work if the country of residence, like the Netherlands, has electronic gates? Will exiting Station A2 accidentally be counted as doing a trip inside one’s country of residence and thus violating the rules?
I have a Masters degree but I am really struggling to work out how to use the online app for my mobile pass. It doesn’t seem intuitive at all. What is the difference between a trip and a journey, for example? How do I add journeys/trips to my pass? Why do I need to duplicate trips to add them for my family? I thought I had added the first day and I can see the tickets there but today I am getting repeated notifications telling me my first travel day is tomorrow but I haven’t added any journeys. I don’t understand. As we leave in the morning I’m worried we’ll be getting on the train without a valid ticket. Is there some clear information somewhere or someone who can help, please? I really wish I’d just bought a paper pass, good old fashioned paper and pen I understand. Thank you!
I’ve been trying several times to buy my interail pass today and I cannot get to checkout. When I click on “Proceed to checkout” I’m directed to a blank page that tells me to add my details but there are no fields available. I tried to create an account before buying the pass but the same thing happens as well, there is simply no option to log in or create an account. I contacted Interail support and haven’t yet heard back. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice on what to do?
Alright seasoned travellers! This year I plan on taking quite some night trains, but I don't have a set plan. I have used night trains before and usually booked them before my trip. These are a few of the trains I might take this summer:ÖBB NightJet Amsterdam - Vienna ÖBB NightJet Vienna - Berlin EuroNight 347 Dacia Vienna - Bucharest Intercity 407 Corona Budapest - Brasov EuroNight 462 Kalman Imre Budapest - München EuroNight 476 Budapest - Warsaw TLK Domestic night train PolandI was wondering how easy it is to book night trains on the go. I can imagine in high season couchettes can get sold out, or sometimes it's not possible to book all types of accomodation on certain routes, when booking at the train station. What are your experiences? Or do you prefer to book night trains in advance?
Hello,I am currently trying to decide which ticket I should get.I was wondering if the First Class Pass is worth it, since to actually benefit from first class, I will always have to pay for seat reservation right? So is it worth getting? Additionally, are the seat reservations cheaper if I have the Interrail pass or is it the same price as if I didn’t have a pass? For second class there are a lot of trains that don’t require reservation so I am more leaning on getting that one.
Hello, I want to book a bed on a snälltåget night train, running from Hamburg Central station to Stockholm Central on August 28th 2021 at 11.26 P. M. I have a valid Interrail Global Pass Flexi and I did not find a way to book a bed on this train. Has anyone a idea to solve this problem? Kind regards hukarobert
Hi,We are planning a trip to Europe this coming December, coming from South Africa. We plant to visit Paris, France a few days, then move to Zermatt in Switzerland and then ending up in Amsterdam Netherlands. My Question:Does the Eurail Pass allow for travel on trains and trams within a city. For example if we want to get from the airport in Paris to our hotel we will be using a train. Is this included in the pass. Then if we want to use the train so go somewhere in Paris or surrounding areas is the pass valid. Then for example when we are in Switzerland can we use the train from Paris to Zermatt and use the pass for trains in Switzerland. Then when in Amsterdam can we use the pass to go from the airport to the hotel via train and also using the trains and trams in Amsterdam and also to go to the smaller towns in Netherlands.Any help will be appreciated
Hi,I’m planning to travel through Italy with Interrail pass during summer and I’m wondering if these “Regionale Veloce” trains require a compulsory reservation. According to the Interrail timetable (see the picture), it does require a reservation, but according to other sources, Regionale and Regionale Veloce trains doesn’t require a reservation. Another interesting fact is that it doesn’t provide the price of the reservation, so I’m really confused.Thank you for your answer.

Hey Guys,I want to make a reservation from Paris to Montpellier Saint Roche (9th of August, direct connection). I tried with the reservation service of Interrail and I could find a lot of connections, but everytime, When I want to add it to my List it says “Sorry, this connections has changed recently. Please look for another” then I look for another and it sais exactly the same. What can I do? Does anyone else have the same problem? Thanks and Regards,Ami
Hi, I have been in contact with the support but to no success. Me and my friends have individual mobilepasses since we will be doing most of the tip together. When I want to add them to the trip and make reservations I need the pass cover number and the issuer. We bought our mobilepasses though this website and the support and other threads have said the same, that you don’t need those just the email. But, the website will not let me make reservations or add the travellers without issuer and pass cover number. We have all contacted the support a few days ago to get our pass cover numbers. How do I do this step by step if I do not need my pass cover number or issuer, like I am supposedly able to?Just FYI, I did click “I purchased my pass on interrail.eu” and followed the septs sent to me by the support.Hope to get some answers soon.
Dear Interrailers,we are planning our trip through europe. We want to buy the 3 month global pass but we have to choose between 1st or 2nd class.Beside the mentioned benefits on the homepage I have one question. We want to be flexible and therefore we will choose our train connections only a few days before the train ride. Sometimes there are no seats left in trains. Is it more likely to get a reservation in the first class? Does anybody has experiences with the 1st class and reservations?Thank you for you help. Kind regards
We are trying to make a reservation for the train from BRUXELLES-MIDI (Belgium) to PARIS NORD (France) THA 9340 - THALYSand PARIS MONTPARNASSE 1 ET 2 (France) to BORDEAUX ST JEAN (France) TGV 8590 - TGV INOUIin both trains is a reservation neededbut both trains give the option not availableHow come? What can we do te make a reservation?
The Caledonian Sleeper site is contradicting my understanding of night trains and Eurail passes. They write:“Britrail / Inter-Rail / Eurail / FIP Coupons will need to be valid on the date you arrive in your destination but not necessarily on the date you join the train for departures before midnight.”Now, I understand why that might be the case for the trains that depart Edinburgh or Glasgow just before midnight: it’s after midnight CET, and maybe the app logs it in CET time. But I want to use my pass one morning to go from Glasgow to Fort William, explore, then get on the 19:50 departure to London, which arrives around 7am.Can anybody advise?
Dear fellow travelers, I am quite confused with Inter Rail's reservation tool. Hopefully you can help me! The situation is as follows: I bought an Interrail pass a while ago. With that pass I want to take the train from Milan to Brig (Switzerland). The app states that I have to make a seat reservation for this train. When I wanted to use the online reservation tool to make this reservation, I was not able to select any price/seat (see picture below), while the app shows me that the reservation costs are €11. Does this mean the train is already fully booked? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!
Is there a gift ticket/voucher offered by Interrail? That could be used as a gift to a family member that they can use up whenever they would like to travel around. Or is this how all the ticket work in general, that the traveller can use them up in within 11 months?
Yeah, what I said in the title really…These are among the most popular night train routes on the continent, and not only is July peak season on a normal year, but 2022 will also be the first proper chance many people have had to travel abroad since the pandemic began. Accordingly there will be a lot of travellers planning to use these trains in July, and this track work couldn’t really have come at a worse time. :-(I’m aware that quite a few of the more expert users of this forum will already have known about this, but hopefully anyone who didn’t - and was counting on these trains for their itinerary - will see this reminder and adjust their plans accordingly. One possible alternative option for those who had been planning to come from Munich is the Trenitalia sleeper from Bozen, but this is on weekends only and only works for those travelling to Rome.
Hello,In 2020 I won 2 interrail tickets. Unfortunately I got diagnosed with cancer shortly after. Treatment was long, and the consequences quite bad. So we still did not get a chance to use them. Now I have simplified a travel route, because with my phisical dissability and all the cancer treatments, I cant do a lot anymore. The plan was to fly to Malaga from NL on the 5th of March. Then 3 nights there, then the train to Barcelona on March 8th, 5 nights, and then the train from Barcelona to Paris on the 13th of March. And then back to NL. Ive read we can only book when we are on the station. Will 3 nights before be enough for Malaga -Barcelona and 8 nights before enough for Barcelona - Paris?Due to my condition, its not really possible to be flexible. So I kinda have to know if we will get seats on those trains. I really cant find anything that can tell me its going to be ok. If not, we will have to cancel these plans once again. And my tickets will no longer be valid. Thank you in adva
