To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Hi we have tickets booked on the Eurail site for the above trip for 9 th June at 11.30 and the train number is AVE2112, it is not showing on the site now but it shows one at 12.10 with the same train number have they just adjusted the leaving time, also can we only reserve seats at a station or can we do it online or over the phone?
Hi ! :)I’m french and I need to book a ticket from Montpellier to Marseille with my interrail global pass, to then go to Italy. But at the train station, I was told by the machine that this ticket with interrail global pass is only available for people who don’t live in France… While it is said on the interrail website “ An Interrail Global Pass is valid for travel in your country of residence during one outbound journey and one inbound journey that occur during travel days at any point in your trip.” Can someone tell me what to do actually ? Thanks in advance ! :)
Hi Some questions about generating the ticket . I have added my journeys to the app. I understand I need to toggle the slider to the right of the journey when the time comes to create a ticket. I won’t do this until nearer the time of my journey as it is advised that if things change at the last minute the travel day would be lost. This does make me a little nervous, as I would rather have my tickets all ready in advance of travel especially as it is a Eurostar train early morning on which expensive seat reservations are booked, and I don’t want to miss it if there are any problems with the app that I’ve never used before. In this case, when do you recommend I create the ticket? As this is the first day of my travels I will be a leaving my home country. If for some reason i had to change my travel plans and travel a day later, but I had created tickets in advance, would the in/out day be lost or is is just a travel day that is lost? (As I won’t be using all 4 of my travel days,
Hey guys, does anyone know whether it is possible to use the inbound journey before the outbound journey (Mobile Pass)? Due to a quite complicated planning of my trip I’d like to use it vice versa since I will not return to my home country (Germany) and stay in Norway for a couple of months. The inbound journey would be used for a trip back to Germany from Italy before that. Can anyone help me pleaaase? Thanks a lot!
Hi!I'm trying to reserve a seat/seats on a Warsaw - Paris journey, via Berlin & Frankfurt.I can see the whole journey and each leg, but DB won't let me reserve a seat directly on the website. The issue seems to be the Warsaw - Berlin and Frankfurt - Paris legs, ie crossing the border. If I book separately, it seems that I can reserve the Berlin - Frankfurt leg with no issue (this, paradoxically, is the leg that the 'site refers to as 'high demand') - the other two legs aren't currently that busy.Changing the date, class, changover time... makes absolutely no difference.I had a similar problem booking Warsaw - Rijeka and found that Warsaw - Pszczyna, then Pszczyna - Wien (same train) got around the problem, but no luck here.On the Interrail Rail Planner it specifies that reservation is required for precisely the legs I can't book, but not the one I can(!)Any tips on how to get these legs of the journey reserved?I’ve been told that I may have to go to the international ticket office he
Hi everyone, extremely knew to the concept of interrailing, heard of it but never considered it a viable option. My intention would be to travel with my bike in tow, it’s only a small BMX bike. i’ve seen in the FAQ’s that it is at the discretion of the rail companies as to whether they alllow travel with bikes, but was curious to ask in here if anyone had any first hand experience? i assume travelling with a bicycle ain’t hugely unusual and i am hopeful i will be able to make it work on my travels this summer. Thanks in advance,Chaz
Hello I have purchased an Italy Interrail pass for 4 people. I have reserved seats for two journeys without issue but I am having difficulty booking from desenzano Garda to Florence on 10th August 2023. There are lots of train times up to 6th August but from this time only early morning and late evening journeys are appearing. I looked on trenitalia website and a train around 10am is available but I can’t book it with my passes they’ve said I need to do it on eurail. Can anyone help ?
Hello,I would like to book a compartment on the Stockholm - Hamburg with my interrail 2nd class pass.I am searching by entering my pass number, but I only get results in 1st class. Can I make this reservation while making sure that I don't have an extra charge on the day of the trip?I asked this question via chat, but SJ seemed to be unsure...Has anyone been in the same situation? Thanks in advance!Amélie
I have a 30-day Global Eurail Pass and I do not want to activate the pass until I get to Denmark on the 30th of May. I want to reserve a couple of trips but I do not want to activate my pass now because I do not want my days to stay yet. However, there are a few trains we're they say they get filled fast and if course these are the trains I will need to stay on schedule My Questions... 1) When I land in Denmark on the 30th of May will a person working at the train station in Denmark be able to help me with reservation from say... Amsterdam to Cologne, Germany or any other country in Europe? 2) Or can a worker in Denmark or some other country only help with Reservations in their own country? 3) Is there a way I can reserve my spot on the train without activating my pass or anything similar to this?Thank you very much in advance!
I am a Philippine citizen but working in Spain with an NIE # and thus a resident registered in Malaga uas Alta Cualificada until October 2024.My partner and six year old daughter who are also Philippine residents are currently visiting me in Spain under tourist visas.Since we want to travel around Europe via train, can we get three Eurail passes, or should I -- as a Spain resident -- have to get an Interrail pass while my partner and daughter get the Eurail Pass? Additional info:As I have a conference in Amsterdam, I am flying from Malaga to Amsterdam and so will my family. From Amsterdam, our plan is to use Eurail pass to travel to France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy before going back to Spain (either Seville or Madrid), all on train.
Hello,I’ve done a trip once with interrail. So I know the basics, inbound-outbound, travel days, the difference between trip and journey etc. I was using a flexi paper pass back then. Now I am planning to do another trip and I have few questions about the mobile pass.My understanding is that once I activate it (and I need to do this in order to book the reservations) - my trip gets fixed and I cannot change it, i.e. I am going from place A to B on the days X, Y, Z and I cannot change it either to be from place A to C or on days, X, Y, Q.But does it really work like that? I remember when I used paper pass each day I could decide that I want to travel that day and get on that or another train. I had a lot of flexibility.I would like to give an example below:Let’s say I need 4 travel days: 13, 14, 18 and 30th I need to book a reservation for a train on 13th. If I understood correctly, in order to do that I need to submit a trip in the app and activate my pass. From that moment my trip is
I am an individual who won a pass and I had a group of 5 friends who have also won a group pass. Because I didn´t want to go on my own, I have decided to go with them, having already paid for all of our Airbnbs. My question is if I will have to face any constraints regarding seat reservations ( having to be in a different place than their group or having to pay more) or regarding trips ( a trip that they are in is fully booked and I will have ot take another train all by myself). Apart from that, I would be tremendously thankful if you could give me any information regarding an individual person joining another group!
One of the legs of your journey is not available anymore. Please try searching for another connection
Hi everyone.I have a 2 month eurail pass and am attempting to reserve seats for trains from Marseille to Avignon on the 13th of August and Avignon to Paris on the 14th. I don't mind what time the train leaves and hence have been attempting all different available trains throughout the days, however, every time I attempt to “proceed to payment” I get a notification stating “One of the legs of your journey is not available anymore. Please try searching for another connection”. I haven't has this issue with any of my other trains, so am unsure why this is occuring.Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Jamie
Hi everybody!I try to find the answer on the communiste but i do not find it.I bought an interrail pass but i was not aware about the difficulties with bikes!!! :)I finally find how to book tgv in France with bikes (call sncf many times to find someone Who know the way or go to the train station) and i am now in germany. It looks easier but i have à doubt. So i try to book train from mannheim to munchen the 18th of july with 4 bikes.the options bike and interrail are available on DB.com :)At the final, it proposés to me tickets at 18€ for 4 tickets. It looks that it is the seat booking fées without bikes and the website does not speak about bikes at all.Do you think that the bikes are included or not ?Must I call DB to book for the bikes ?I hope you understand my doubts! Thanks for your help!
I bought a Eurail Global pass for an upcoming family trip across Europe. I’ve been able to make a 4 seat reservation for a train from Bordeaux to Narbonne (ultimately on to Barcelona from there). When making the reservation, I was unable to actually choose the floor, or seats. I was looking for four seats facing each other, on the upper deck...preferably in the family section. The site just automatically assigned me four seats. I have no idea where these seats are on the train, if they’re in the family section or if they are facing each other. Before I bought Eurail pass, I almost purchased a group of tickets from the site without using a pass. That process allowed me to choose the type of seat and section. I’m thinking I may be just done it wrong this time. Any words of wisdom or tips? Thanks in advance.
On 1st July, I will be travelling from Zurich to Amsterdam! I have already made my sleeper reservations on NJ402 thru OBB, which shows it's a direct train. Later, I went to Eurail to book the train, however, there comes the confusion. In Eurail, the train with number NJ402 shows that I need to transfer to another train in Utrecht (IC 3022). If I select this, the train journey will be counted as 2 days, instead of one. There is another option for a direct train, which weirdly departs on the same time. The number of that train is IC 60402. Now, I am very confused which option should I select. Is IC 60402 and NJ402 the same train? I don't want to waste 2 days on a single train journey, where in reality, it is supposed to be a direct train. Help will be much appreciated 👍
HiMyself and one other are trying to book a train on 26th June from Lake Bled to Split. The train we were looking at is 7.31 bled to Zagreb, and then 15.19 Zagreb to Split. We are having trouble getting seat reservations and very unclear as to why whether it is sold out or not we are not sure.If a train requires seat reservations can I still board without a seat and sit on ground/stand?Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi thereNew to interrail and slightly baffled by the whole thing! My partner and i have 4-day passes. We want to book London St Pancras to Brussels. Have found train we want via interrail.eu; this is linked to our pass details etc. I get to the ‘payment’ stage and still cannot see which seats we’ll be assigned. Is this because there are only a certain number of pass-holder seats available, and you are just assigned whichever seats there are? I just find it strange I cannot see a seating plan or anything; maybe I’m looking in the wrong place? Do I just pay the 60 euros and then find out which seats we have?Apologies, this has probably been answered elsewhere, but I feel like I’m going round in circles! :)
Hello fellow travelers. I am currently planning a trip through (mostly) Sweden with a friend. I want to travel the following route: Copenhagen (Airport) - Malmo - Gotenborg - Oslo - Orebro - Uppsala - StockholmNow I am not sure if I need to buy a Global pass or if the one-country pass for Sweden suffices? I am questioning due to the statement on:https://www.eurail.com/en/get-inspired/top-destinations/sweden-train, where it says that trains to Copenhagen and Oslo would be included - but I really can’t find any more information on this anywhere on the internet. Do you have more information/experiences by chance..?
I’ll put two related questions here. 1) Would you recommend a reservation with a first class pass on Friday July 14 from Interlaken to Zurich and for Saturday July 15 from Zurich - Heidelberg ?Part two - for the Interlaken-Zurich route I see 11AM IC 817 on the 14th with the Eurail site showing $13.44 charge for the two of us to reserve. The Austrian OBB site is showing no cost, but is allowing me to make a reservation. Is that correct? I’ve used that site for previous madatory reservations and paid the fee, but wonder if I’ve done something wrong getting a reservation for no cost? Below is what It is shows, and I also got to download the PDF ticket.ThanksTomSeat reservation1.Adult,Thomas XXXXNo applicable discount2.Adult,Leita XXXXNo applicable discountInterlaken OstZürich Flughafen1st ClassValid for IC 817 on Fri, 14 July 2023 at 11:00Valid from Friday 14. Hi,I am trying to make reservations (and have been trying to for weeks) for connections from Istanbul → Sofia, Podgorica → Belgrade and Split → Zagreb, but whenever I click on anything it just says that seat reservations are not available.Seems like a lot of other people have had issues with pre-booking these reservations. Are reservations for all of these supposed to be made at the train station? Are you able to make reservations for the Istanbul → Sofia train at the Sirkeci station in Istanbul, even if the train to Sofia leaves from Halkali station?Any insight would be really appreciated! Thanks so much!
Hi allAfter some advice. I purchased my eurail pass back in December. I read that they needed to activate it at the time of purchase (this wasn’t an option as my partner did not have his new passport yet), or at the station before our first journey. My mobile pass is prompting me to ‘activate pass’, so I am a little confused with what it says re activation on the website.I have added two journeys to our trip, but have not received a QR code as yet for our journeys. Is this because our passes have not been activated? I am so confused the more I read. I’d love some help.Kind regards Danielle
