Really Confused - Just spent $388 USD for the 5 Global- not sure if I needed to.

I am think I am might be really confused or doing this wrong. I purchased a 5 Day Global for one month. I have started to reserve the trips - Amsterdam to Antwerp, Brugge to Paris, Paris to Amsterdam. It looks like I could have gotten all of the tickets for $213 US by just buying them directly. Or, am I doing the reservation system wrong? So what is the benefit of the pass?

I will be there in October.  Right now scheduled to fly home from Verona. Would prefer to fly home from Venice.  What are the fastest choices to travel from Verona via train to Venice?

Bikes in sleeper cars?

We will be traveling from Sicily, through Florence to Lake Garda and eventually up to Paris with our mountain bikes.  They are expensive and I do not feel comfortable leaving them in the luggage area.  If we booked a family sleeper car, could we bring the bikes into the room?  Thanks, karen

Somewhere in France to Munich - Suggested Route -

Hello,We will have a car and climbing / bouldering in Fontainebleau. Then I need to get to Munich by train. I have 2 days to get to Munich were we fly back to NZ. I can do a one-way car drop off (not expensive either) in Southern France. I was thinking about Dijon, but not sure.Then take a Train to Munich- but I can’t seem to find a route.OR, I could return the car to Paris - but that feels like back tracking.  I read an article about a sleeper / couchettes from Paris to Munich but I can’t find that either.Question: How would get from France to Munich? Could I go Dijon to Zurich to Munich? Thank you!

Outward Journey

I’m finding the app. / website is very confusing to use. Our initial international trip is London to Amsterdam and the app. has defaulted to that being an outward journey but first we need to get from home to London which is an entirely UK based trip … which I don’t appear to be able to book. How do I do this? We won’t need a reservation for the journey so is it okay to just turn up and show our pass QR code, i.e. does every train just accept that as a valid ticket when no reservation is required?

14 Day in Florence

We will be based in Florence, Italy for 14 days and want to go to a few other cities for a day or two. Thinking about Vienna, Venice and Paris or Munich.  We want to know the best way to get to them by train.

Can someone help me plan?

I'm planning an Interrail trip and would like to visit the following cities:Sofia (Bulgaria) Skopje (North-Macedonia) Mojkovac (Montenegro) Belgrade (Serbia) Budapest (Hungary) Bratislava (Slovakia) Prague (Czech Replubic) Final Destination, home (The Netherlands)However, when I use the Interrail website to plan my route, it says that it is not possible to travel between these cities by train. I'm wondering if there are any other train routes that I might have missed, or that someone else knows a better way to travel?

Usando o passe dentro de Paris

Boa tarde!Gostaria de saber como identifico o ticket para embarcar em percursos dentro da  cidade que estou, por exemplo.Estação Paris gare - Choisy Le RóiPreciso fazer várias vezes esse percurso, além de precisar ir para os pontos turísticos de Paris.Eu não sei onde pego aquele QR Code para andar nos trens, se não há reserva paga. Outra questão é em relação aos dias que seleciono para usar os ticket, por exemplo Eu comprei o passe para 10 dias durante 2 meses. Então só posso usar os trens no dia que eu registrar um dos 10 dias?

Hi there!Does anybody have experiance with travelling from Bucharest to Sofia?It seems to be quiet a challenge with a 20 hour journey and 2 or 3 stopovers.At this momemt I think the Flixbus might a beter option.What do you think? Thank you!

Hello, can somebody tell us whether or not we can go to Alberobello from Amalfi in 1 day by train?  Almafi to Naple to Bari to Albelrobello. We already booked Airbnb In Alberobello after staying in Amalfi. If it’s not possible, we have to cancel our reservation in Alberobello. Thank you in advance.Hideyo

France June 15-30

I am a first time Eurail rider. I am looking to go from Paris to Zurich in mid to late June and nothing is available. Is there some kind of event or shutdown going on during this period? The train scheduler wants to send me north to Brussels then across to Germany and down to Zurich, it is like an extra 4 hours.

Interrailing with a Bicycle

Hi everyone, extremely knew to the concept of interrailing, heard of it but never considered it a viable option. My intention would be to travel with my bike in tow, it’s only a small BMX bike.  i’ve seen in the FAQ’s that it is at the discretion of the rail companies as to whether they alllow travel with bikes, but was curious to ask in here if anyone had any first hand experience? i assume travelling with a bicycle ain’t hugely unusual and i am hopeful i will be able to make it work on my travels this summer. Thanks in advance,Chaz

Hi!I’m going to take a ferry to Igoumenista next week. Then I want to explore Greece, does anybody have done that? I know there is no train station in the area, but there is a lot of buses, so maybe I can travel by bus for the beginning.

Rail trip to Venice

I’m planning a trip to Venice in March and I’d like to travel by train rather than fly, I’m thinking of taking three days on the trip with two overnight stays.  I’d like to incorporate the Bernina Express in the trip too. I’m not a seasoned rail traveller so I’d be grateful for any tips on the practicalities of using interrail for such a trip.

Understanding Euro rail

Hello! My husband and I will be travelling to Italy next year and we only have about 13 days and I would like to visit the following places: Milan for 2 days (The city we will fly in and out of), Venice- for 3 nights, Florence - 1 night, Rome - 2 nights, Naples - 4 nights and then back to Milan.I’m very overwhelmed with the Euro train system as we don't have anything like this where I’m from. Is there anyone who can advise what type of pass I will need (I would like to take advantage of the high-speed trains to have more time in each location), how to reserve and any other helpful tips.  Do you have any other suggestions that might make this trip more relaxing or better via travel? I’m open to ideas, I just heard that Europe has a fantastic public transit system. First time in Europe and I really want to make the most of it! Thank you !!

Hambourg Stockholm night train: cannot find traffic info on SJ website

Hello everybody, i booked a night train from Hambourg to Stockholm on january 20th on the SJ website. While my booking is well confirmed on SJ, when I try to check out for the traffic info on this train line, i get the followint message: There are no departing trains from Hamburg on 2024-01-20. Please try another date. Even when i try other dates i get the same message. Does anyone know how to get traffic info on this please ? I also tried to check that out on DB but same :( Thanks !Rosa

Train from Paris to Milan

We are planning to travel from Paris to Milan on June 3rd. We were originally going to travel from Paris directly to Rome, but with the landslide that is impacting train travel on this route, we decided to overnight in Milan, and then continue to Rome the next day. I’ve seen that by the time we travel, there will be a 'direct' route that includes a bus, but we'd prefer to travel by train the entire route.We’ve seen the recommendation on this site to travel from Paris to Zurich and then Zurich to Milan. We want the fastest route, and since it’s a special vacation, are happy to reserve and pay for business class.My question: when I try to book this route, it doesn't appear that all of the trains are available to book yet - is this correct?We are trying to balance booking early enough to get the seats and timing we’d like, but fear booking too early and missing more desirable trains that may not be scheduled yet.  We had heard that booking 4-6 months out would be ideal, is this correct?An

Train Availability

Hi,I’m from Autralia and looking at train travel in the July 2024 period in Switzerland, Italy and France. On some routes that I’ve searched in the timetable through Italy and France (Riviera to Paris), there’s no train routes coming up. For example, Geneva to Milan shows nothing at all, even the trains that don’t need a seat reservation. Are all the reserved seat trains sold out? Maybe because of the Olympics? Is it possible to have your Eurrail pass with you and get on a train that doesn’t need a reservation on the day of travel assuming they’re running? Thanks

Alicante to Yorkshire

My plan is to make this journey by yrain: Alicante, Barcelona, Paris, Eurostar, London, Leeds. Two questions:You can't use a Eurail pass in your country of residence, in my case Spain, but you are allowed one day " para la salida". Does this mean that as long as I get to France on the first day, I'll be Ok? Can I use the Eurail pass easily in the UK? And what about Eurostar?Anyone with answers will uave my deepest gratitude!Steve Green
