Travelling from Amsterdam to Nice
Hi,I really would like to travel from Amsterdam to Nice to see my family but don’t want to take the plane, so the Interrail-card would be perfect for me. I only have some questions regarding the conditions of what the best thing is that I can do. My trip will be on the 11th of June and would consider:Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris, then from Paris Nord to Paris Gare de Lyon RER D and then TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to Nice Ville. When I’m buying the Interrail France Pass for 3 days, I can travel through France for 3 days. I know I have to reserve the TGV (and the Thalys) and pay extra for this but my question is the following:Can I use the card already in Amsterdam since I’m travelling with the Thalys or does the card only hold in France and not if I’m travelling from another country to France with a France train? And another question you might help me with is: Is this the smartest option to take? I just want to visit family in Nice and am living in Amsterdam. What should I do? Thank

Cross-border add-on fares
If I have a one country IR pass for Germany but want to travel on an ICE starting over the border in Strasbourg do I need to buy a single ticket from Strasbourg to the border station, Kehl (regardless of the fact that the train doesn’t stop there) or is it necessary to buy a single from Strasbourg to the first station in Germany at which the train stops (Karlsruhe)? All help appreciated!
How to download non-iPhone Eurail planner app in China
Does anyone know which Eurail Planner App to download for some who is currently live in China, but not using iPhone?I understand that after you purchased Eurail Pass, you will receive the email with links to download the planner app. The options are: “App Store” (for iPhone), “Google Play” (for other phone than iPhone). However, for people live in China, but not using iPhone, what should they do? The can NOT access google in China.
Before I spend $$ on a pass I'd like to know if these trains are covered.
Hello!I've been very frustrated trying to decide if I should buy a pass or just book each train directly. I don’t know which trains in different countries are covered under a pass vs. not. This is a big ask but I’m wondering if someone can give a Yes or No on each of the following trains (would they be covered under a Global Eurail Pass)? vy.no lie-flat not included in scheme
Just for information - it turns out that while vy.no have cool new recliner seat/beds on their sleepers they are not included in the Interrail scheme so you have to book them at full price. With a 1st class pass at least - you can book a sleeper for 1000 NOK as a flat fee. this is good value. Or you can book a seat for free. Also good value, if not optimal for an overnight journey. On the leg that I wanted to book today there were no sleepers left so I asked about the lie-flat beds and the price would have been 1,949 NOK as they are not included in the scheme.I reckon this is probably just because the agreement hasn’t been updated as it makes no sense for 2 classes of travel to be bookable, but the 3rd one to be not bookable.
Train not showing up but need reservations
We are trying to travel from Bern to Milan tomorrow on Friday, May 5. There is a direct train leaving Bern at 11:34 am and arriving in Milan at 2:45 pm. It is Eurocity train EC53. The train shows up on timetables everywhere except the Eurail timetables (the whole route does not seem to show up in Eurail). I believe the train requires seat reservations. I can’t seem to find how to make seat reservations anywhere without first purchasing a ticket and the other sites don’t have options to enter Eurail pass information. I don’t want to buy another ticket as Eurocity train are included in the Eurail pass. I can add the train manually to my pass but can’t figure out how to get seat reservations. Thanks in advance.
Getting 1 Interrail and 1 Eurail pass
Hi everyone, My boyfriend lives in a non-European country and I live in an European country. To my knowledge, if we would like to travel together by train, he has to get an Eurail pass and I have to get an Interrail pass, but the passes are essentially the same just a different name(?) However, I’m wondering if this will lead to any problems along the way, for example with making reservations. Do we both have to do that separately or is there a way we can still do it together? Or is it not really necessary to make bookings together anyway? I have tried looking for a similar questions but I didn’t manage to find it. But I’m sorry if this has already been asked before. Thanks in advance!
Inbound and Outbound
I am Jyoti, I was using my Eurail pass (one day) to travel to Amsterdam from Berlin. It's a monthly pass with 4 days travel with EU. You can activate the day you want to travel within the pass, the day you want to travel. I added my journey yesterday from Berlin to Amsterdam via train ICE 140 i.e on 7th May 2023, departing at 16:05 from Berlin HBF. The train was cancelled on reaching Hannover HBF. Since, it was already very late i.e. around 21:00 once the train cancellation was informed and officially train was closed- I decided to return back to Berlin. I couldn't contact the customer service in Hannover since already around 100+ people were standing in line to collect a refund or stay in Hannover. The reason I am am reaching out here is that in my Eurail Pass - there is only 1 inbound and outbound journey for my home country. Since I used it yesterday on this train, I cannot use it anymore. So, I request to please let me know how to proceed in this manner?
Eurail Pass validation at Heathrow Airport
My understanding is:(a) Eurailpasses are NOT valid on Heathrow Express(b) as almost always with local suburban rail operators, Eurailpasses are similarly NOT valid on London Underground (‘Tube’) trains (and buses/trams)however:© Eurailpasses ARE VALID on the newly opened Elizabeth Line (Transport for London) between say London Heathrow Airport terminals and Paddington, or elsewhere on the route (though once one tries to connect to the Tube, one would have to have a valid Oyster Pass issued by TfL.(d) Similarly, Eurailpasses “may” be valid on London Overground trains. Is the latter - c and d- correct? If so, where can one have a Paper Eurailpass validated at Heathrow? Will a TfL staffed booking office do it?
