Can anybody definitively confirm that IC trains in Italy do or do not require reservations for pass users? My experience a couple of months ago was my reservation was checked. Interrail planner says reservation required, but on here and Facebook several experienced contributors say they are optional.Italiarail - Trenitalia’s official partner also says reservations are required. I am always concerned that Newbies get the correct information as on board. It is no good saying “I thought...” or “ I was told by …...”, when they have the uniform and the rule book on their side.
Hi there,Our family is ready to purchase a Global Pass 10 days/2 Months. Per the conditions on the site I see that we have an 11 month deadline to use the pass. Does this mean we have to activate the pass within 11 months, or complete our 10 days of travel within 11 months?Due to possible (but hopefully unlikely) new Covid issues I want to know when would be our last day to cancel the pass and get a full refund? The site says a full refund is possible if one cancels “no later than six months from the last possible activation date of the Pass”.For example if today is January 31(purchase day), Expiration day 11 months from now would be December 31 and 6 months prior to this is June 30. So would June 30 be our latest cancellation day?Our first day of using the rail system will be in late May, so I think we are OK here, but just want to make sure as there seems to be some ambiguity of the terms.Thank you! John
Hi all, hoping this helpful community can help me again.I’m trying to book a seat reservation with ItaliaRail but it’s requiring a paper Passholder number and won’t (obviously) accept my mobile pass number. Is there anyway to get a Passholder number that will work? Thanks! Edit to add: I’m just seeing that all of TrenItalia’s booking is down for maintenance right now, and it’s possible the reason all reservations on Eurail’s site just disappeared, is because of this, in which case, I can use Eurail—but would prefer to not be in a bind, so if anyone knows if it’s possible to get a Paper Passholder Number, I’d appreciate it!
Hey everyone,I have a 5 days Global Pass. My country of residence is Germany. I was travelling from Sweden to Denmark, then into Germany and tomorrow I wanna leave to England. In January I will come back to Germany. I have just read that I can only use one inbound and one outbound journey. What should I do? Should I book a ticket to Brussels without interrail so I don’t use another outbound journey, Will I be able to use interrail from England in January? Many thanks Laura
I have booked a camping in Mataró, which is about an hour away from the city center of Barcelona. The best way to get there is by Rodalies de Catalunya, which I figure is sort of a regional train. However, on the Interrail-website, I can't find connections. Therefore, I am wondering if Interrail is valid on these trains or that I need to buy seperate tickets.
Hello everyone!I want to make a trip to 2 countries and start and end in my home country Germany with the 4 day Global Pass.My 4 traveldays are:Cologne to Marseille via France. Marseille to Florence +4 Florence to Hamburg (2days, one outbound one inbound)Is this possible? Because to me it seems so that thanks to the condition of the global pass i can only make trip which are originating from my homecountry or going to my homecountry. Thanks for your help!If the global pass does not count inbound than that's fine too I just don't understand if I can travel from France to Italy.
Hi, I am so confused. Can someone tell me the difference between the fix and flex ticket ? If I was to choose the flex ticket would it give me the chance to travel till 2024 (for 30 days when I spread it over the year ) ? If I choose the fox ticket how many countries can I visit ?Thanks in advance!
Hello there kind community, I noticed that the train from Malpensa Aeroporto T1 to Milano Centrale is Not in Pass Network, so means I cannot book the ticket using my Eurail Global Pass? How should I go about in buying a ticket from Malpensa Aeroporto T1 to Milano Centrale? Would appreciate all the kind help that I can get :)
Hello everyone! I have received the DiscoverEU ticket, so therefore now I have the option to choose between flexible and fixed travel.I’m almost 100% sure to be taking the flexible option, but I’ve been struggling with the 251€ “budget”. I don’t get if (within a Travel Day) I can hop on ALL the trains I want, or either need to be writing down how much does each train cost and be careful about it?So that if I spend 200€ travelling to Sweden (for example), do i need to add 200-51 = 149€ of my own wallet for the journey back?
I want to pay in CAD or EUR but the website is only in USD when I go to make a reservation on my phone. Can anyone help me with changing the currency from USD? There is the option on desktop version but I do not have a computer accessible as I am travelling, and the desktop view does not display on my phone.
Hi, I just have a question about the Eurail pass I was hoping you could help me with. I'm just a bit confused about how the 'Travel Days' work. I am wondering if these travel days must be used consecutively? For example, If I pick the option for 10 travel days in 2 months, do I only have a 10 day period within those two months in which I can use the Eurail pass? Or, alternatively, can I break down those 10 days over the two months? (e.g. Use '1 day' of travel today, and then 2 weeks later use another '1 day' of travel?). I hope this makes sense! Your help is much appreciated,
I have a Global "5 days in 1 month" pass. I have not used any travel days, nor have I activated it. In the search interface for reservations, I am not able to pull up results for dates outside of a certain narrow range, about a month. The message “Your pass isn’t valid on this date” appears if I search for dates outside of this period. It is impossible to plan my journey and to determine when to start using the pass without being able to build an itinerary and knowing which reservations are available. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello everyone! I urgently need your help because in few days I’ll be in Switzerland with a friend and we’ll stay 1 week, but I still haven’t found a reply to this question.I am trying to understand if it’s more convenient for me to buy a 4-5 days interrail swiss pass (around 150-170 euro for us because we are under 27yo), or a swiss travel pass (but it’s more expensive), or just not take anything and just buy normal tickets. We will be in Bern the first 2 days, so the plan is to buy after it so it will start from Bern and we will go to: Interlaken, and from there to Grindelwald, Luterbrunnen.. and maybe Wangen but just because I understood form there it’s possible to reach Mannlichen point of view, with funicular. Then we will go to Lucerne. and from there back home. This is the plan if I don’t do any interrail etc.. because it will cost the same. But if I manage to have interrail, that would allow me to visit also Lugano and maybe Guttannen for the famous Gelmerbahn, or maybe Gruyères
Good morning, I would like to remove a doubt; If I leave from Munich (Germany), direction Amsterdam by this train: 18:19 Muenchen HBF; 4h 13m; ICE 532 - 22.32 Hannover HBF. 3h 49m Change trains 02:21 Hannover HBF; 4h 5m; IC 452 - 6:26 Amsterdam Centraal (Netherlands). Do I have to count one or two days of travel? On neither day would I take other trains!
