To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Hello Eurail CommunityAnother issue I am having here. I was planning a trip using the planner from Milan Central Railway Station to Lake Como in Varenna Esino Train Station. Eurail planner keeps saying “not in Pass Network”. I saw in Google Maps there is a RE8 train from Milan to Varenna at 8:30 am. Please help how can I have this trip save and added to my Global Pass. Is eurail databases need updating because I do not personnaly agree that eurail does not have trips going to and from the Lake Como regions in Varenna Esino train station.thanks for any help
I have a question regarding seat reservations. I am planning to travel from 26-06 untill 07-07 through Scandinavia. For this I bought the interrail global pass. Now I wanted to look to make seat reservations for the trains, but there is not possibility to reserve any seats on the tracks I want. They all show an exclamation mark on the site and when I look on the other site, like for example for Sweden, it says 'not available'.I looked for seats on the track Stockholm to Kopenhagen (29-06), Copenhagen to Gothenburg (02-07) and Gothenburg to Oslo (04-07). I thought everything would be fine as I looked up train times before buying the pass, but now I cannot reserve seats so that would mean I got the pass and booked flights for nothing. Or is this because it is still so far away and will there be seats available later? I would like to know more about this. I hope someone can help me and inform me about this. Thanks in advance.
I am planning on using my eurail pass for some trains within sweden, when I check the eurail planning app it says that seat reservations for my journey are around 3 euros. When I check the SJ website and enter my pass reference, it says the ticket is 50 euros. Any ideas on whats going on here?
How far in advance should I get to the station and do trains have a limit on number of people they allow?
I’m interrailing in May-June time and wasn’t planning on booking reservations when they’re not required. On the rail planner app it says the train times, for example Berlin- Brussels, 6:46am-13:26pm, does this mean that the train leaves the station at 6:46 or arrives at the station at that time. How long before setting off do the trains get to the station, how far in advance should I get there to ensure I get on? Also, if I haven’t reserved a seat, is there a limit to the amount of people that the train allows (I assume I will be standing which is fine). Will the train just fill up or is there a maximum amount of passengers allowed. I don’t want to not be able to miss/not get on as there’s a big gap between train times.
At the beginning of 2021 we bought interrail passes. Unfortunately, our trip could not continue in the summer of 2021 due to the corona restrictions. We were therefore happy that we received an email from interrail on May 6, 2021 that our passes would remain valid until August 2022. Now I want to book trains, but this is refused because the passes seem to be valid until March 2022. Can this validity still be adjusted?
Hello, we both want to travel at the end of May from Heidelberg/Germany carrying our E-bikes in the train to Copenhagen, visit the capital of Denmark. Then take the ferry to Oslo, visit the capital of Norway two days, then take the Bergensbanen to Bergen. After a couple of days there, looking around by bikes too, we’re going by ship (Hurtigruten) to Trondheim. After sightseeing at this interesting town, we ride a bike tour to Steinkjer. In Steinkjer we want to take the train to the town of Mosjoen northbound. Then once more the bike to northern Helgelands-Coast until the harbour of Oernes, where the Hurtigruten ship will pick us and bring to Stamsund/ Lofots. There we stay about a week, discovering these wonderful archipelago by bike. Then back to Bodoe by ferry and from Bodoe by the Night train southbound to Trondheim. Next day Trondheim-Oslo by train and after one day visit again in the capital back over Copenhagen ( Ferry) to Heidelberg. Our questions: how is the transportation of (
Hi!We were planning to travel around Poland soon but somehow it seems impossible to make seat reservations in advance. The Interrail app says its not possible on every connection we planned (for example EC 59 Frankfurt(Oder)-Gdansk Glowny dep. 1345 on may 10), the PKP-website only lets us book reservations including the full fare and also DB cant make reservations online.Does anyone have a recommendation on how we should do this? And if we would book reservations on the train station before departure, aren't we way to late to be guaranteed a seat?
Hello! I'm planning to visit Switzerland and I want to visit Sion in Switzerland by train, does any of you know if the interail single country pass is valid for this? For example, if I want to visit Sion from Lucern, is it included in the pass? Thank you in advance!
I just scheduled our very first train ticket from Switzerland to Germany with our 1st class pass and there are no specific seat assignments. Do we just look for first class and take a seat? How do you know if that seat does not belong to someone. Just little nervous and traveling in little more then 2 weeks. So exiting!!! Thank you in advance
Hello.I’m traveling through Europe and Italy is one of my destinations. I’m vaccinated but the one that I have is not official in EU. Also is impossible to get the Green Pass here in my country. I have an international vaccine card, but I don’t know if it will allow me to enter every train. Is something related to COVID needed in order to enter the trains or I just have to show my Eurail Pass?thanks for your time.
Hi, I’ve bought the 7 day pass in one month 1st class and have been looking to book my reservations. So far I will only need to pay for Paris to Munich. I will not be prebooking the seats that already say your ready to board, prebook seat is not required only if you want to. I cannot find a seat for Prague to Krakow- and krakow to Berlin. It is saying from 0€ but seat reservations required. I am not travelling till the end of July - 12 weeks away but would like to be organised and have them all booked. Do you know if the seats are just all booked and you cannot book them or are they not released yet? thank you
Hi all,I will be travelling to Italy/France in two weeks time. I have actually purchase the eurail pass at around €270 and has yet to activate it as I am trying to see if there is any ways to avoid the seat reservations fees which can easily add up to another €100. My friend somehow managed to avoid these fees when she booked all the rails required over the counter physically once she landed in europe. Can anyone help to confirm if this is still valid? Will it be more cost-efficient to cancel the eurail pass and purchase individual tickets via trainline then if seat reservations are confirmed to be required? Or any other apps if you guys can suggest to me. It’s my first time to europe travelling around between different country. Appreciate all the suggestions and help to save cost! Thanks in advance.
Hi there, I have a few questions before I purchase my passes, could anyone help?1. I'm a disabled mum with two children and need to have a carer with us, how do I apply for a carer pass? I can't seem to get hold of anyone, I've tried emails, chat bots, dead phone numbers, everything. Obviously I don't want to purchase my pass unless I know I can actually use it and don't know what to do!? 2. I've been trying to look at reserving seats for the nightjet Amsterdam-Zurich on the 25th July, I've tried the obb website and the interrail app but when I try to do seat reservations only it just comes up "ticket not available" I can however book a full price ticket without using the interrail card so the train must be running?? How do I book a couchette for this train? Many thanks in advance
Hello!I'm starting my Interrail-adventure next week and my first train will be from St. Pölten to Zürich. I want to catch the train as early as possible, because I plan on travelling from Zurich to Milan on the same day, so I only use one travel-day. My question is the following: the train departs on the 3rd of May at 20:40 from Budapest and arrives in St. Pölten at 23:59 (still May 3rd) with the departure at 00:01 on the 4th of May.Will this cost me one or two travel days, as I'll be boarding the train right on the edge of those two days.Which time counts? The departure time or the time of arrival? Thank you in advance,David
