Turkey — Train from Ankara to Kayseri

I am traveling to cappadocia this summer with my girlfriendI wonder if anyone has experience with the route Ankara Kayseri, is it worth traveling by train or is the bus a better alternative, since the bus is 2 times fasterIn our case, we wanted to take the train that leaves Ankara at 11:20 and arrives in Kayseri at 19:01

Inbound night train problem

Hi everyone,we are currently traveling back to Germany (home country) by night train and didn’t realize that the app uses this journey as an inbound travel although the first stop in Germany is after midnight. Now we can’t change the journey anymore and have used an inbound ticket, but we still have to travel in Germany the next day to get back to our hometown. Does anyone know how we can fix the problem or if the conductor will let us go in the next train without a ticket? Thanks :)

Using interrail inside greater London railways

Part of my three months global interrail I will be based in Northern London, close to suburban Mill Hill Broadway railway station, served by Thameslink. From there, for instance, I have a direct connection to Tate Modern. It has gates, like many other stations in and around London. You can't open them with your ticket, so you need railway staff.(I do not mean the tube stations, were interrail is not valid.)My question is: does anybody has experience with such railway stations, where there any difficulties? Was there always staff to help you in or out? Do they know interrail is valid?I'm a little bit worried, because I'm from the Netherlands, where we have, in my opinion, quite a hostile gate system. And in another topic somebody mentioned problems getting into the Elisabeth Line, where interrail is valid. On the other hand, traveling through London before (with Oyster card), British staff was always friendly, very helpful and they usually managed to make me happy.Thanks for experiences

Reserving a train from Naples to Sicily in November 2023

Eurail won't let us reserve a round trip train from Naples to Catania (or anywhere in Sicily) in November 2023. It actually won’t accept any date after August 4, 2023. Are there no trains running to Sicily after August 4th, or is it too soon to reserve a train, and we will need to wait a few weeks to book for November? We have the 8 day pass and two travel days available for this round trip. Thank you!

This year 600 000 Interrail Passes sold! New Record!

Hi, today some German speaking media has released that according to Deutsche Bahn (Eurail B.V. shareholder) the Interrail pass is more popular than ever: this year 600,000 tickets have already been sold across Europe. Compared to 2019, the number of tickets sold has almost doubled. The number of Interrail tickets sold in Europe this year has risen to a record of around 600,000. Anyone else with these app-issues?

I am currently doing interrail with the mobile pass.While I am happy with the functionalities of the app, it has given me multiple stressfull moments:app not letting me enter a journey manually, and hence I could not generate a QR code. I am touch with support to get myself refunded the ticket that I had to buy instead. All journeys disappeared, only to re-appear after 10 seconds or so. Those 10 seconds are a very long time with the ticket inspector standing next you, in a far away country with no common language. Did anyone else experience this? Or this one: Instead of saying 'Show ticket' in the yellow bar, it says 'add a journey': . It is totally unclear why the app would say so at this location. Restarting (takes multiple minutes) did not solve it, but later on that same day, it is back to normal. I will consider doing the paper pass next time to avoid these issues. It really took the fun of it all away.

no more return train

Hello, I bought the 5-day pass to travel with my family from Geneva to Stockholm in mid July. The outward journeys are booked but it's impossible to find return trains, everything is full, I spent hours looking! We can't afford to take trains that will take us more than 30 hours to get home! I don’t know what to do...I've taken out interrail cancellation insurance and I'd like to know if I use 3 days of travel out of the 5 I bought, can I ask for a refund for the 2 days not used?

Booking a seat when a reservation isn't necessary

I am trying to reserve a seat on a train from Derby to St Pancras. Using the Eurorail app it says a reservation is not necessary but I want to reserve a seat as I know the train can get very busy. My Global pass is for 1st class travel. How do I do it?! Thank you

Hello,This summer I will be traveling through Greece. However, the train schedules are only a week up front in the interrail app and website. How can I book my trains and use my pass on them even after the start date of my trip when I cannot edit the route in the app anymore?I tried booking with Hellenic train directly, however there is no option for interrail as far as I could see.Would someone be able to give me some tips and tricks? can't unactivate yesterday's finished trip

Yesterday, my wife and I traveled around the Netherlands using day 1 of our passes. We started and ended at unmanned stations, so simply got on and off the trains. No conductor ever checked our tickets. I did use my mobile “ticket” a couple times to go out of the station through a turnstyle and then back in. Tomorrow morning we have planned a trip to travel to Paris. But when I try to add the appropriate trip to day 2, day 1 trip comes up. The app will allow me to create new trips, but I cannot add any of them to our passes.

Travel to specific locations in Germany and Poland

I am new to the Community and am very much in need of advice with regard to travel by train to certain cities in Germany and Poland as part of a tour I plan for July 2023. American Express no longer helps with train reservations and schedules so frankly I am rather lost. This is to be a World War Two related tour to Berlin, Munich, Nurnberg, Berchtesgaden, Prague, Krakow, and Warsaw. I already have a Polish guide for travel to certain locations by automobile, and have guides set up for Munich, Nurnberg, and Berchtesgaden, and am working on Berlin. But I truly do not know how to even think about arranging for train travel between these destinations never having really traveled by train much in Europe before. I am hoping that someone can help or knows a travel agent with whom I can work that can put together the itinerary for me. Thank you.

Can you backtrack on one travel day?

Can I start from one station, travel to another station a couple of hours away, spend a few hours in that place and then return by train to another station that was on the first route - and do this as one day of travel? And if you can do this , how and when do you load up the two journeys? Thank you.

I was trying to book a seat reservation throw the eurial app for the train from Paris to Amsterdam but I couldn't find any availabilitythen I went throw a website called b _ Europe and booked a seat reservation for a train belongs to thalys And sadly I found our that I booked 15 May instead of 14 May 15 minutes latee When I tried to edit the date it will coaste 264$ And in the euro app I couldn't cancel the trip they said that means that I used 1 travel dayAnd I really don't know what to do

April 23. VERY frustrating, no trains operate currently in Albania and N Macedonia. Am hoping against hope that one route from.Podgorica in Montenegro to Belgrade might be operative so will.enquire this weekend when we get there Message from me- forget trains, plan your route by bus. Plenty of those but largely demands on the spot sorting out, and finding where to buy tickets and the location of the bus station not obvious.

Hey guys, I’m currently on my Interrail (2month from last years sale) and I’m going from Prague to Alost in Belgium.There’s a transition in Frankfurt Hbf between 2:11 AM - 6:28 AM, does anyone have an idea what to do (ideally where to sleep) in that time? Since I’ve heard it’s forbidden to stay in the train station.I’m probably looking for a train somewhere and back or something like that? Would anyone care to share a helpful advice please? What trains can I use to get from Greece to Croatia?

In June, I and a friend are planning on using Eurail Global passes to get from Athens, Greece to Split, Croatia. Looking at the map on the Eurail website, it looks like the trip is going to be 5 stops, but I can’t find any information about train schedules, additional fees, ride lengths, or participating stations and rail companies. Does anyone have more specific information about the trains or is it simply too far in the future? Do we have to just find out while we’re there?Thanks
