How to check reservations for night train are available before I buy a Eurail pass?

We are a family of 7. We only plan to travel on 2-3 day trips from Paris (Chantilly one day, Amiens another), and then the over night train on July 10th from Paris to Nice. Tickets are 160 Euro per person for that over night train so I planned to buy a Eurail pass for all of us for the overnight train at least. Not sure if we need a 3 day pass or just a one day pass for the night train, as the other trips are quite short. But I read that seat reservations for the night trains are limited for Eurail pass holders - How can I work out if the overnight train has space for us before I buy the Eurail pass? I don’t want to buy a pass then find I can’t book the seats for the trip I have planned! Thanks for your help

Hello from New Zealand, I have found the overnight train I want from Vienna 11th July and arriving in Florence early 12th July. However, how do i book this with my Eurail pass (understand additional cost for sleeper bed). Also, I cant see this train journey on my Rail Planner app, How can i be certain this train will actually be available? Many thanks, Paula

Seat Reservations

Hi, Myself and my friend are interailling for the first time next week. We have been able to book hostels, and some seat reservations but it becomes increasingly difficult when leaving Berlin. We have been given the option of paper ticket but they won't arrive in time to us or the hostel. It says able to get on the train but worried what this means without a seat reservation. When looking further ahead leaving prague it says unable to board train without seat reservation but there is no available for days which we don't understand how this can be possible. Please can someone advise us on what to do in this situation has I say we have booked accommodation already and have been saving for this for years.

I tried changing the date and time but whatever I choose when I try to make a reservation it says that the prices are unavailable.And I don’t know if there is a simple explnation or a problem can you help me ?

Hi 😊 We want to travel to Argelés-sur-Mer and I wanted to ask the chat-gpt but it is not able to answer. We would like to know, how it is with interrail pass AND to take a little dog with us. Does the dog need a ticket? It is 7 kg and can fly with us in the aeroplane as “luggage”, how is it in the TGV and also in “normal” train? Thank you!

Booking seat reservations on an international train from France to Spain

I’ve seen several Q’s and Q’s on / around the topic of seat reservations for RENFE trains for interrail pass holders but I thought I’d try and get a definitive answer on my specific situation. I’m arriving in Nimes, France on 4/12/23 and hope to travel to Spain on the 09:00 Nimes to Madrid service on 06/12/23. Nowhere currently am I able to book an online reservation for that specific train, only trains later in the day which aren’t suitable timings-wise as I need to get to Cordoba from Madrid that afternoon.Is my only option to call SNCF, or use another service operator (DBahn?), or is it safe (or possible) to wait until I’m in Nimes and try and book a reservation at Nimes Station. Is it unwise to leave booking (or attempting to book) the reservation to literally one / two days before travelling or should I try and book well in advance?Thanks !

hi, I want to go from Wroclaw to Venice, and then take the train to Silicia to take a ferry to the island, and then return home. Do you have any thoughts on the layout? I’m thinking of going to Verona, spending the night there, going to see Venice in the morning, and either in the evening or the next day I’ll go to Silicia. The problem is that I have 3 out of 4 days left on the pass which makes everything even more complicated.

Seat Reservation fares - discrepancy between Raileurope & Eurail

Hi there, I am currently planning on my trip between Lyon part dieu and Nimes Centre, when I intend to purchase the seat reservation for train timing 1827-1950 from Nimes > Lyon, I found out there is a fare difference in the seat reservation between Eurail & raileurope:Eurail - 12 Euro (I am aware that I will only pay 10 euro if I book from raileurope)raileurope - 24 euro I did select Eurail Global 2nd Class Pass in the front page. First time I'm buying the Eurail pass. To use the trains that don't need to book a seat, do I need to make some kind of reservation? How does it work? Or is it just showing up on the day and time of the train and getting in? What if it's full? I need to make sure I will board.

Hallo Zusammen Ich habe mich entschieden vom 22.8-29.8.2024 ein Ein Länder Pass (Italien 3 Tage 1 Monat zu kaufen. Ich möchte gerne die Städte Rom und Florenz besuchen. Daher habe ich einige Fragen:Ich werde 3 Tage in Rom, 3 Tage in Florenz verbringen reicht das um die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu sehen oder habt ihr welche Tipps die ihr noch empfehlen würdet? Mein Start ist von Luzern dann nach Rom von Rom dann nach Florenz und dann von Florenz zurück nach Luzern daher reicht der 3 Tage in 1 Monat Pass? Auf der Raileurope, Interrail Sitzplatzreservierung kann man noch nicht buchen daher muss ich mich noch ein wennig gedulden da die Italienische Bahn den Fahrplan recht spät öffnet, daher meine Frage die Strecke Roma nach Florenz gäbe es ein Regionalzug lohnt sich der oder soll ich lieber mit dem FR Zug nehmen?

Nightjet discount

Hi all! I am trying to book on the Nightjet from Paris to Salzburg at the beginning of August and have added the Interrail pass as a discount card for each of the passengers. However, it doesn’t seem to offer any discount at all - it’s exactly the same price as without the pass. Is this right? Should I be doing something differently? Thank you!

Hi, is there any direct train from Rome to Paris? If not, what is the best way to go about it? Plane fare is pretty cheap from VCO-ORY but I have 2 carryons so would add up to the price. Looking for May 4th 00:00 onwards.

Hi, do I need to add something for the 29th? I was in assumption that this trip from Prague to Zurich would take up 2 travel days as it crosses 24:00. Without adding anything on 29th leaves me 6/7 travel days. Although I plan to take trains to Lucerne/ Titlis on 29th so either ways that will take up that day I guess?? Please let me know thanks.
