We are going on a 22 day train trip thru Europe. We have a 22 day Eurail pass. Our journey begins and ends in Paris. We pretty much have our itinerary in place from Paris to Budapest, but are having trouble deciding where to go and what to see between Graz and Interlaken. It’s our understanding that the train from Salzburg to Zurich is a scenic route, but we’re just not interested in seeing a lot of cities. We would rather smaller scenic areas. Any suggestions?
Does the France Eurail Pass valid for traveling from Lyon to Geneva by taking TER?

My daughter has a 12-month visa to live in France. She is a New Zealand citizen. What is the best rail pass I can buy her as a birthday gift to explore more of France? When I try to buy an Inter-rail pass for France, her country of residence (France) is not listed. The Interrail web site seems to be designed for travellers intending to travel to the country from another European country but NOT if you live there. I cant find the answer anywhere. Am I missing something?
How do I book tickets with a train company and link it to my Eurail pass?
My mobile pass appears to be blocked by yesterday's trip. I cannot add today's trip and I have another two weeks of travel ahead of me (with multiple reservations and trips Can anyone advise how to sort this? Peter
Hello there We are travelling from Australia and have purchased a eurail 5 trip pass. We are looking to travel from Milan to Interlaken (I believe it’s possibly Milan to Zurich then Interlaken) on 2 January 2026. We are looking to reserve our seats (as have already purchased the Eurail pass) - but the Eurail site is not showing any availability and the Rail Europe site we can get to a “payment” (which seems very $$$$ when we’ve already paid for the Eurail pass) but no selection of seats - so makes me think it’s a payment for the whole trip and not just seats (if that makes sense). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
I have a seat reservation from Milan to Paris on the TGV. i now intend to board the same train one stop in at Turin. I can’t foresee a problem using the original seat reservation from Milan. Can anyone foresee an issue with this that i have not considered? thanks Peter
The Missing Link: Why Bilbao Needs a High-Speed Train to MadridDespite being one of Spain’s most vibrant cultural and economic hubs, Bilbao remains disconnected from the country's high-speed rail network that links major cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Seville. The absence of a high-speed train (AVE) between Bilbao and Madrid is a glaring infrastructure gap—one that not only hampers mobility but also limits the region’s tourism potential and economic growth.A Strategic Corridor Left BehindBilbao, the heart of the Basque Country, has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past three decades. From a declining industrial center, it has emerged as a model for urban regeneration, driven by projects like the Guggenheim Museum, the revitalized waterfront, and a booming gastronomic scene. However, in terms of connectivity, the city still lags behind. While cities like León, Zaragoza, and Málaga enjoy the benefits of the AVE, Bilbao is still served by slower, conventional tr
First let me please make it clear that I am well aware of the lack of railways in the Baltic states and the need to make use of buses to pass through those countries.I will be leaving Brno in Czech Republic on 15th or possibly 16th July with the ultimate intention of making my way eventually to Tallinn in Estonia, but because I am very keen to spend a few days in Gdansk (Poland) en route I have been trying to work out how to travel by train from there (Gdansk) to Lithuania on or around 18th or 19th July with either Kaunas or Vilnius as my destination, from either of which cities I would then take an onward bus to Riga and eventually Tallinn.I have a continuous one month 1st Class Interrail Pass, and the planner in the app informs me that it cannot find trains from Gdansk to either Kaunas or Vilnius. Nor can it find trains from Warsaw (Warszawa Centralna) to Vilnius. I presume the reason for this is that the Baltic states have not yet bothered to submit their railway timetables to Inter
I want to purchase Global Passes for my son and his friend. If that is possible, how is it done?
We are travelling by train from North Scotland where we live, departing on a Thursday at 5pm from our nearest home station. We will then get the Caledonian Sleeper from Inverness to London arriving on Friday morning. We then get the Eurostar at midday on Friday from London to Paris. We will do the reverse coming back for our inward journey. So, three joined train journies with a few hours in between each train in London and Inverness. All reservations have been made for the Sleeper and Eurostar. With the 1 day rule for both the outward and inward journey in the UK, I believe that the journey described above each way is our 1 day outward and 1 day inward journey, so will only count as one day, even though it goes over 2 days each way, is 3 different trains including a sleeper and takes 24 hours to complete. If not, this would seriously disadvantage people like us who live in far corners of the UK and takes time to get to Europe by rail. Can you also clarify how to just assign just one da
Hey, I am Eren. I met with a girl, her name is Emma. She is from Sweden and 20 years old. We talked a lot and wrote something in my diary. I fell in love with her. I gave her my number, but she have not written a message to me yet. We met with her in the train going to Milano from Rimini at 12.15. I want to find her. Please Emma, I want to see you again.
This is our 2nd day of travel on eurail pass. We were able to turn on pass and have an eticket in our app but when we try to add seat reservations (seat reservations are not required), it says train is full. Can we still take this train? Last time we struggled finding seats that didn’t have reservations on it.
Hello!I have the mention "Connection irregular" on one of my trips. What does it mean?Thank you!
I want to add a journey in my Eurail app, but that particular journey does not show up in the app. I already found that journey in RailEurope and booked seat reservations there.
I’m travelling the eastern route from Northern Europe to Greece in October, and once I get to Sofia, I have a choice of bussing toThessaloniki or Kavala before heading south to Athens. The simple option is to take the train to Athens then ferry to Crete. A second option is to ferry from Kavala to Piraeus and then on to Crete. There seems to be only one 9-stop ferry on this route per week. I love the sea and spending a full day and night on a ship is fine with me. I don’t see any berths available so it must be some kind of a passenger ferry with only airline seats.Has anyone taken this route? How does my Global First Class pass affect the fare of the ferry? In face the whole ferry thing is still a bit vague.Does my pass cover the ferry (excepting berths of course) or does it give me a discount on the ferry? How many ferries am I allowed? Is the ferry to Crete included? If I ferry from Kavala, then to and from Crete, can I still ferry back to Italy for the homestretch?
I'm planning a trip to Switzerland. And I have doubts about the following questions:With the ‘Interrail Switzerland Youth Pass’ could I plan a flight from Spain to Switzerland and then redeem the Pass in Switzerland? I haven't seen anything about a specific tour with the Pass, only the information of the days per month you can stay in the country. It takes you directly to the payment page without telling you the places the Interrail passes through. Do I have to do something I'm missing to see where the train goes? Finally, could I purchase the Pass now (September) and redeem it in December?Thank you so much for reading.
Hi Coomunity. We’re heading for the above-mentioned connection. Just wondering if using the discount will be at the cost a travel-day. I.E. do we use on of our travel-days by asking for this discount?Tanks for replys.Nabil
Hello! We bought 4 days global pass to travel in December /2025 , but I am having hard time o reserve the tickets on this website . Every time that I add my destinations shows that does not hav any train available at that time . However if I go to the other regular websites has plenty trains
When I see in the Eurail app, the reservation fee for seat booking shows less amount, but when I am redirected to pay the amount is much more. Why does this happen?
I wanted to go from Milan to Amsterdam tomorrow but the discover eu app says I have to use an inbound day for that, but my home country is Germany, which is also tracked in my pass.so I don’t get why I have to use a inbound day to go to the Netherlands and the stop is also in zuerich, which is also not Germany.Has someone got the same problem or the solution ?
