Get ready to travel

Hello, I am planning to travel by train ICE 9568 Frankfurt HBF - Paris Set on 18 July 2024. On the interrail website it says that the sale of reservations starts up to 90 days in advance and costs from 19€, when I looked on DB (bahn.de) the reservation for this train comes out here at 4,90€. So can I buy this ticket and will it be enough if I have an Interrail ticket or should I wait and buy 90 days in advance for 19€, or is there somewhere else to buy a ticket for this train? Thanks for the answer. 

how much time do you need to allow between trains? I have heard trains can run late. Is 30 minutes generally enough time, or trains can run later than that? The specific location is Brussels, if that makes any difference in regard to time between trains and the reason I am asking this question. And what happens if you miss your next train/connection? 

I would like to know if there is a way to tell the right and left sides of the train on a seat map. I am travelling from Innsbruck to Bologna on an EC train (EC83) in April this year. I’ve found that I can choose seats from a map if I use the OBB website, but it’s not clear which is the front of the train. I’ve read that the views are better on the RHS. Thank you.

I'm trying to book IC 523 from Zagreb to Split for Apr 29 but it shows up in my pass as May 1. Need some help, thanks.

Hi everyone, I’m currently trying to figure out what would be more viable to get from the U.K. to Amsterdam. I’ve looked at the global pass for 5 days, as we will be travelling via train into Amsterdam from just outside it most days. Can the global pass be used to get to london from elsewhere in the UK, catch the Eurostar, and get to our accommodation just outside Amsterdam, and then do the reverse on the way back (provided we have the necessary amount of travel days left to use)? Given we’ll be travelling via train most of the time there anyway it seems like a pass might be more budget friendly than getting a flight there and back then buying train tickets every day.

If I book a seat reservation for a train from Germany to Paris for July 26 but then later decide I do not need this reservation, do I lose one of my travel days? I have a 5 day 1 month global Eurail pass. This particular route requires a seat reservation. Also, question along the same liines - if I book a train to another destination but don’t need a seat reservation and then I want to cancel that train, will it also use one of my days? Or cancellations don’t matter and the only thing that uses a day is when you actually travel? Thanks!

Cela m’évitera de payer un pass « EUROPE » alors que je vais seulement là-bas.Merci pour votre aide

Hi,we would like to take the EN 346 from Hamburg to Stockholm on May 20th. It can currently only be booked on SJ.se until around April 8th; it is not yet available for later dates. But you can get it from Interrail for May 20th.However, the only options here are:Bed in sleeper 2nd classBed in couchette 2 classSeat 2 class At the SJ you can book your own compartment for two people and that's what we want as a couple (f/m). Do you also get this if you book two reservations on Interrail with the first option "Bed in sleeper 2 class"? Or are beds perhaps reserved in two different compartments?I would still wait, but I'm a little afraid that I'll miss the time when it can be booked with SJ (which would have to be around mid-April) and we won't get any places.Regards, Christian

Good morning, I received an alert this morning that TGV tickets were available for the dates I need. However for the 2nd  June I can’t see the train I want on the Rail Europe site or the SNCf site. Screengrab attached shows the 10.45am on the Rail Planner app. Is this train not on sale yet or is it not running? Thank you.

I am trying to reserve a room on OBB Nightjet from Milan to Vienna on 6/24 for all 4 of us, yet the OBB website shows tickets not available; I was under an impression that it can only be booked 90 days before, then saw it on the OBB website that it can be booked 180 days ahead, not sure what to do, can anyone provide me some suggestions?? Thanks

Hoping to reserve a return trip from Munich-Fussen-Munich with a Eurail Global Pass.Is it possible to do this via DB (as I cannot do it on Eurail). I can find the journey on DB but am unable to add my pass?

For this journey on my Global Eurail Pass I get the error message ‘Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later or find another connection. This connection will be removed from your cart.’ Even if I change the date to closer or later I am still getting this message!

When planning my trip I have a pass for myself and a child’s pass (free) for my daughter who will be under 12 the entire time. My question is, how do I do travel planning so that we are both on the same trips and seated together?  Do I have to essentially put her in her own trip and manually duplicate everything and just watch seating charts?

This is the email I got from SJ regarding Stockholm - Narvik train: Traffic stop VassijaureThere has been a traffic stop in Vassijaure since December due to another operator derailing at the site. This has meant that it has not been possible to operate the route Abisko Östra-Narvik by train. The restoration work has dragged on. The Swedish Transport Administration's latest forecast is that the track will not open for passenger traffic on the section Abisko Östra/Björkliden-Narvik until the last week of May. There will be a limited range of traffic on the stretch Abisko Östra/Björkliden-Narvik during the mentioned period. We have a recurring dialogue with the Swedish Transport Administration about the condition of the track and update if the information changes. I would like to travel from Minden, Germany to Paris, France airport around approximately July 25. But Eurail says there are no trains found. But Google maps shows train (and bus) routes I can take. Why is Eurail not showing any routes? Could someone help me figure out how to use Eurail for this travel? Thanks!

Is it possible to find a train from Biarritz to madrid? 

Just wonder what happens if I buy a pass and because I miss a connection (no my fault), my trip hope is on the day after my pass expired. E.g. I have a 5 day Global Pass and wanna travel from England to Southern Germany where I live. Due to delays I only make it to Paris on Day 5, so what to do on Day 6 for the trip from Paris to Southern Germany? Buy a new single trip ticket or is the Global Pass extended for the trip home because of the delay?

Hello! I live in the UK. I am hoping to buy a one month global pass (5 journeys) and use it at the start of the month for 3 train journeys in Sweden and Norway (not travelling there by train). I then want to use the remaining 2 journeys for a weekend in Paris at the end if the month on eurostar, travelling from London, so my home country. This will mean my inbound and outbound journeys will come after my 3 other journeys. Is this allowed? Thanks!

I have read previous chats on booking seats on this journey, but those chats were over a year ago.we are a couple with 3 mth Eurail pass.can you book a reserved seat for the Zagreb to Split train on 13 June 2024 departing Zagreb in the morning 0707 arriving Split 1400.if so where (train company/app) and how do I do this? thanks jon

Good evening,I booked a seat reservation through Eurail, I have a global 15 day pass. Entered in all the information, payed. I was allocated seat 21 and my wife seat 24. No choice of seats was given, is this normal when booking seat reservation via Eurail. Cheers. 

Hi, I have made seats reservation on raileurope and received the tickets, but upon entering the reference number on SNCF site, they directed me to SNCF Voyageurs site, and told me that “Your ticket could not be imported. Please check the travel information provided.” What can I do now to verify the tickets? Is my reservation valid?

Morning i booked seat reservations for my wife and I using DB app.  I have an invoice but I have not been issued with a QR code. Is this normal?  What do I need to show the conductor? Trip is between Vienna- Breclav and Breclav - Praha on 2 June.  I have seat reservation numbers for both legs. just know Barcode received and no email pass received. Interrail Passholder Eurostar fares to Rotterdam are more than 35 Euros (via RailEurope), is this due to split journey, change at Brussels? And how can I get the published 35 Euros Passholder fare please?NB For July 2nd 13.00 Rott booking (testing showed the usual Brussels 30 Euros Passholder fare was available).Many thanks.
