Italy in June booking accomodation question - Travelling around Italy (from Bath, UK) - Trains and accomodation booked as far as Bologna (26th May) + a stay in Naples & Salerno also booked. Our route is roughly UK - via Paris to Geneva, Bologna, Umbria / Tuscany, Naples area, then Sicily.We plan 3 ish days in Umbria or Tuscany (end May) then 7 or 8 days in Sicily (from 5th June). We would like to have some travel flexibility - I'm assuming we can book hotels / airbnb's (budget circa max 130 Euro for a double) on the fly (a day or 2 ahead) - is this correct / any thoughts?Thanks

I’m hoping to travel this spring with my 3 kids, one of whom is under 4.  The rules say that one parent can take two kids but under 4s don’t need a pass.   So the other two kids can use the child pass associated with the parent but can I still take the 2 year old without issues? 

Hi, I have an Irish passport but have lived in China for over ten years. I’ll be arriving into the UK and staying for just under 2 months this summer. I’ll be travelling within the UK/Ireland and throughout Europe over those 2 months, so the 15 travel day Eurail pass looks perfect for my needs. But I’m wondering if the Chinese residence visa within my Irish passport will be sufficient proof of residence in China? I have about 5 consecutive years of residence visas within my current passport. The only other official Chinese IDs I have are my university teacher card and foreign expert certificate, neither of which have a Chinese address on them. I do also have the rental certificate for my apartment, but it’s entirely in Chinese.  Cheers for any advice,Ben

I’m traveling with my niece throughout Europe in late May-middle of June. I’m trying to determine which is more cost effective for us, either buying a Eurail pass and making seat reservations or buying tickets directly.I’m looking at purchasing the Global Eurail Pass with 5 days of travel, first-class, one adult pass and one youth pass. In determining what is most cost effective, I’ve been doing what has been suggested, which is comparing Eurail passes with reservation fees against prices for directly purchased tickets, and doing like for like comparisons (same dates, routes).I keep hearing how inexpensive train travel is in Europe, and how it is often better economically to buy tickets directly, however, when I price it out, Eurail seems to be far cheaper (almost $1000 cheaper) for our plans. Is this because I want to travel in first-class? Is it because one of us is a youth Eurail pass? Is it due to where we are traveling (France to Switzerland to Italy). Is it due to all of these?

Considering that, I’d like to know the opening booking date to be sure to get seats?Customer service doesn’t answer. Does anyone knows if there is a specific number of days for booking opening?Extra question: Is this training running each day? Thanks a lot for help.

I am organizing an Interrail trip for this summer, and I was planning to travel on July 27 on the Nightjet 40233 from Vienna to Rome. I have seen that trenitallia has already published the summer timetable so I often check to see if the train is already on sale. However, when looking this afternoon I saw that none of the trains that go to Italy (Milan, Venice) are available to buy, and their timetable already came out months ago. I have searched obb scotty and it appears that there is construction work between Villach and tarvisio between July 12 and July 28, so many day trains will not be available and night trains will be rerouted. Therefore I don't know if I should wait for the summer trains to Rome to leave since I'm not sure if the one on the 27th will be available so I don't know if I should start looking at flights. Hello,At the moment i'm planning my interrail journey for the summer and i want to take the European Sleeper from Amsterdam to Prague, I saw that it soon come into use. But I can't find anywhere how much it costs with a interrail pass, for example a couchette. The only price i can find is on the European Sleeper site itself and the it's €89. But i was hoping that it would be cheaper with an interrail pas ;)) Can someone maybe help me with this? Kind regards,Teun

Hi there, My partner and I are travelling around Europe. We are both currently living in the UK but are from NZ. I have a UK passport but she does not - do we need to buy separate passes to travel on the rail lines? I.e. do I need to get an Interrail pass and she gets a Eurail pass? Thanks

Hello, My husband and I are about to embark on a three month trip using eurail global passes.  I have loaded legs on “my trip” in the app and paid for any needed seat reservations.  Questions: Can I somehow transfer the “journeys” to my husbands travel app on his phone or will he need to manually add each trip?  FYI - He has his ticket on his phone and I on mine? If seat reservations are not required what do we show when boarding the train, is there a QR code or something once the pass is activated? I have read we should activate the ticket in advance of our travel date but ensure we cancel it by 23:59.  Do folks often have problems?  I just want to make sure there is no issue with cancelling the initial activation as I don’t want to lose precious days..  Thanks for your insight.   

Hi. We are planning to take this train using our Eurail Pass. We would appreciate any advice that you can share. There are two of us travelling. I have read about Prestige class. Should we consider that? Once we arrive in Montreaux, we need to get to Geneve. Should we take the train or boat?

Hi all, so I've just bought our global Eurail pass and then booked our seats on the Eurostar for early September, London to Amsterdam via b-europe site, but can't work out how to get the booking details on my rail planner, as it doesn't automatically link up, so won't use a travel day. Does this matter? Thanks for any help understanding this 🙏 

Hi   Planning a 3 week trip from Zurich to Milan to Florence to Nice and back to Zurich. While in Milan, will take trip to Conque Terra, Mont Blan, Lake Garda. Are all these routes covered via EURail pass? Are there daily trains. Ethernet these routes?  Want to confirm before buying the pass. Thanks for your help 

Hi, we’re new to Interailing but are planning a trip across the Netherlands. Germany, Switzerland and France then back to the UK (via Eurostar) in August.ive tried to use the route planner on the website but it doesn’t seem to have smaller rail stations in the database.  Can  please check if the pass can be used within all of countries listed above please, on trains between cities of various sizes, not just major cities?  Thanks

I am taking my mom and sister on their first (and likely only) trip outside of the US, so we will be taking the train to a handful of countries. My question is whether our passports will get stamped upon arrival?  If that’s not standard, is there a way to request it? I think they’d really like having stamps in their brand-new passports!

Hi there!My family and I are travelling from La ciotat to the UK (Stroud) on 2nd June.There’s a 9.55 from La Ciotat to Marseille but that leaves just a 17 min transfer time for the Paris train from Marseille. Is this too short a transfer time? Thank you for any guidance.   

It is too early for me to book a seat as they are not available for July yet, but I have been looking to get an indication of price for budgeting.I am using 2x Adult and 1xChild (9) 1st Class Passes. If I try to book a seat reservation it only offers me 2nd class, if I remove the child then 1st is offered. Should I make 3 adult seat reservations as my passes are all 1st Class? 

Hello, I am trying to reserve seats to travel between Brussels and Amsterdam. Through the Eurail website I booked EUR 9303, which leaves at 7:52 am, but when I go to the seat reservation page it only shows me train EUR 9301, so I don't know how to make the reservation. Otherwise, I cannot find the trains EUR 9322 for the Amsterdam-Brussels route and ES 9125 for the Brussels-London route. Could you tell me what these situations are due to or where I should make reservations? Thank you so much.

Dear Interrail-Passengers!There are wrong informations in the Interrail App which should be improved as soon as quicky.1: The ICE 105 from Amsterdam to Karlsruhe Hbf will drive at Sunday 25 February and over Utrecht, Arnhem Emmerich(Gr), Oberhausen and so further.2: Interrail is only subject to reservation in the period from June until August (exact days for this year are unknown by me).Hopefully interrail could approve this before 25 February.Ragards,David

My husband and I need to book seats ASAP for March 31, a popular day. We want to travel from Victoria Station in London to Shoreham by Sea. When I begin to book this it says, second traveller. Then it asks for my Europass number. It tells me it is above the QR code on our paper pass. That is an 8 digit number. When I try to type it in, it is too long!!!! So how in the world am I to find my pass number. It also says it is in our ‘confirmation email.’ We neve got a ‘confirmation email.’ Feeling desperate here. Many thanks!!!Leslie

Hi Everyone. Just to introduce myself as Dave from “Up North” (Middlesbrough). I’m looking to purchase a Flexi Pass (4 days) for the first time as I’m thinking about treating myself to a trip aboard for my 55th birthday next month. Due to my irrational fear of flying my preference is to try the train option. For me the purpose of the train option is basically a means to an end as I’m looking to spend 5 days in Benidorm. In a nutshell I’m thinking 2 days travel each way with an overnight stop somewhere between. If i can call on your good selves experience do you think this is doable with a 4 day pass? Also, can I use my first day on the pass to travel from Darlington to Paris (as i was a little confused with The Man In Seat 61’s explanation)? I’m trying to factor in costs but am i right in saying its a bit of an unknown due to the varaible cost of seat reservations. Will that cost make the trip financially nonviable maybe? I land in Frankfurt. I eventually go on a river/bike cruise on Danube River from Passau. Can Global pass be used to get from Frankfurt to Passau?

We want to take the Santa Claus Express from Turku (departure 20:20) via Tampere to Kemijärvi (arrival 8:50). Does anyone know how many travel days are required for this night train?
