Good afternoon!As the title says, everything was going smoothly with the eurail pass until we got to Switzerland. we bought a package for 3 adults that included a cable car from wengen-mannlichen, and a train ticket from kleine scheidegg-wengen with everything being discounted by 50% since we owned the pass and we only showed our activated passes to get the discount (NOT an active travel day). the issue came on the train ride where the ticket lady asked to see our tickets, which we showed, and proceeded to ask for our rail passes. we showed the activated passes but she asked to see the QR code from a travel day which we did not have. she immediately got visibly annoyed and said we have 30 seconds to activate a travel day otherwise she will fine us 270 CHF. since we were very confused, we said the guy we bought the tickets from only needed to see the active pass and she snapped (with very rude attitude) saying "too late you get the fine now"and proceeds to start writing it out. Unfortunately I am not so good in knowing how to go by ferrys. We (family, 2 adults, two children 2, 5) want to go from Munich to the Lofoten, and later on to Great Britain. So our plan is to go on a day train from Munich to Sassnitz or Rostock for a ferry to Sweden. We should arrive there early evening. Which connection would you prefer, from Sassnitz or Rostock for an overnight ferry?(From there, we plan to travel to Stockholm, where we want to take the night train to Narvik, and there with the Bus to the Lofoten. From the Lofoten with a ferry to Bodo, and there with the train to the South.)Next we want to go to Great Britain. I only know two options so far: We go to Brussels and with the Eurostar to London. Or we go to Hook van Holland and from there with a night ferry to England. Is there a third option recommendable? Any hints for the hook van Holland ferry?Thank you very much!

I tried to book the night train from stockholm to Narvik on the Website of vy.When I enter my family (2 adults, 2 children (2 and 5), I only get second class seats as an option. When I miss one child (so only three people), I can book beds. Our youngest (2 year old) does not necessarly need an own bed. How can I book an own compartiment for our family?

I will be travelling soon on a 2-month pass but am likely to get back to my home country (France) well before its expiry date. I understand that I cannot travel any more in France with it, but can I then make my own way to a neighbouring country and continue to travel there as long as the pass remains valid (without of course attempting to return to France using the pass)?The more I think about it, the more it seems possible, unless there is a clause stating that travel must end on return to the home country.

hi all-  I am tripping with a larger group (6 in total) mid September, coming from glasgow. Bonjour, je pensais prendre un train de nuit d'Amsterdam à Bâle le 28 août, mais il semble qu'il ne fonctionne pas. Donc ça devient compliqué pour nous. Notre destination finale est Mulhouse. J'ai vu que nous pouvions passer par Paris mais je ne peux pas faire une réservation sur le site de la SNCF. Ça me semble cher... Auriez-vous des conseils à me donner ? pour un voyage sans avoir à changer de train 6 fois... traverser l'Allemagne ?Merci d'avance.

Hi I’m hoping to find a way back from Milan to London, ideally using an over night sleeper train for part of the route.Im open to all suggestions but have a slight preference for getting the Eurostar to London via Brussels rather than Paris.Any help on this will be gratefully received:)

Hi, i am wanting to travel on a budget next year july-september and id like to know the easiest way to do this. I have been interest in buying the 2 month global pass but i feel like it is a waste if one cant use it in cities to get around. What is the cheapest way to get around cities? And should i rather buy the ticket with travel days. I dont want to spend an awful ton on something i cant use that much.

Is one able to use their eurail pass on the trams in lisbon , and if not are thrre a lot of trains?

I bought this Global Pass and activated it so i can book seats if needed. I am surprised that i have to pay in order to book a seat?  is this normal? 

Hi! In April I want to travel southbound trough the Baltic states, completely by train. I saw that in the weekends the connection time in Valga is 13 minutes instead of 3 hours. I was wondering if trains in Estonia have a good punctuality and if this connection is trustable. Has anyone experience with this? Or can I better bet on a 3 hour transit?Also, is there anyone who knows if there might come better connections next year?Thanks in advance for your answers!

I previously created a trip & added my pass to this trip. I activated today’s journey and received a barcode ticket for today’s journey. Today I can’t display my trip or my pass even though I’m logged on. Error message says problem syncing my trips to my phone. The error message says I should create a new trip and add my pass to that trip. I have created a new trip but am unable to add my pass because it is still assigned to my previous trip, which is not visible! Any ideas how to resolve? Thanks

Hi!  I’m getting a sleeper train from Vienna to Venice. It departs at 9 pm and arrives at Venice at 8 am.  I was wondering if I could do this journey with 1 travel day or if I would have to use 2 as I’m not sure if the pass counts for a day or for 24 hours from activation. Couldn't quite find an answer.Thanks! 

Hello.I am looking to travel from:Vilnius, Lithuania > Riga, Latvia > Tallinn, Estonia > Helsinki, FinlandIt’s over €200 for an Interrail ticket. However, I checked the price of a train ticket between Vilnius and Riga and it was approx. €25.My question is: is it worth getting an Interrail ticket for this planned trip and if so, what are the benefits?Thanks.Liam

I want to travel from Aix to Valencia on 30 August, but I cannot see any way to actually book seat reservations for this journey. I will be starting my trip in Toulouse, but it seems reservations can only be made at a main station in Spain, which is no help to me at all. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to make these reservations fro Australia, or France?Thanks! 

Some good news on the trains from Bruxelles to Köln and Frankfurt. All of these are now brand new ICE 3 neo sets. Just travelled back to London without a single cancellation or delay on them. Unfortunately there are a lot of problems on the North South axis due to major engineering work in the Mannheim Frankfurt area. Don’t plan itineraries with short connections in Koln on this route    

Hi, If I now want to book a ferry trip from Super Fast Ferries to Greece, do I have to activate my pass beforehand or what exactly do I have to do? And is it possible that not all connections are shown on the route map? I have already tried to answer both questions through the FAQs but they are still there. Thanks for your help!:)

Hello! Does anyone know how to book a train for the Budapest-Kosice trains in September (I’ll travel on September 13th)? I tried doing it at Mav-start’s webpage as well as ZSSK’s but with no success. Are the trains changing schedules or is there any problem with the train line during that month? Thanks!

Advice on the fastest train to take from Heathrow to London Kings? Someone mentioned Piccadilly but I do not see that as an option. 

Have a very basic question; I’m visiting Prague (flying down) for 4 days on a sightseeing trip; Am wondering if the Eurail Pass for 4 days makes any sense, or is it useful only for intercity travel? If its not useful, then what’s the best alternative for getting around in Prague?

Hello, I pay resavation for TGV (lille to bordeaux) on 26 July, but because the problems on the France train I get mail that this train was cancel, When I arrive to Lille I ask on the SNCF office if I can get my reservation money back or book other train but they can't help me there.I keep traveling with many local train and now when I back k home I try to get my reservation money back but don't know where I need to send the mail to? Do you know to where I need to send the mail? ThanksTsafrir Nelken
