Eurail & Interrail Passes

Hi this may sound dumb but I just want confirmation. I am planning a trip to Italy and have been using the interrail app to plan routes. I’ve noticed there are only 3 trains along my journey which require purchasing tickets… would these count as part of my 5 days ticket? If I book these reservations ican travel the routes without using my interrail allowance? the remaining routes do not need seat reservations, are these journeys included in my 5-day pass and don’t require any extra payment?Sorry to sound dumb, First time doing this!thanks in advance!

Je l'ai activé dans l'application de rail planer et ai préparer mon voyage dessus. Aujourd'hui je voulais voir comment faire pour réservé les sièges de certains train pendant mon Voyage. Mais je ne comprends pas comment faire. Sur l'application rail planer, il explique que l'on peu faire sa via le site Interrail, ce que j'ai essayé de faire mais en me connectant avec l'adresse mail relié à mon pass, mon pass mobile n'apparaît pas sur votre site, ce qui rend la réservation de siège compliqué Merci pour votre future aide Bonne journée

I bought a pass last year, then when I saw the recent special offer I decided to exchange the pass I had bought for a new one.As per instructions I purchased the new passes and then applied for a refund for the old ones. However I then realised that the card I originally used to buy the passes was connected to a bank account that is now closed.I immediately contacted customer support but they said it was too late and that my bank would take care of it.However my bank have told me that their policy is to return any such payment to the sender, but they could confirm that with the SWIFT payment reference.I have tried to get in touch with customer services to see what has happened to my money and to request the SWIFT reference but have yet to hear anything for several days. Can anyone help or share similar experiences? 

Hello dear will my pass still be active if i use the out and inboard ticket?i mean will I still be able to use it in other countries or it will be expired

Hello everyone, My name is Carlo van Groeningen and I am a staff member at a scouting group in Leiden (NL). This summer we really want to go to Barcelona to discover this beautiful city. It is the first time that I organize such a long trip so I need some help from others. I want to take the train from the Netherlands to Barcelona with 18 children (15 to 18 years old) and 3 staff members between the ages of 25 and 27.The boarding station in the Netherlands does not matter that much. The journey itself does. I saw online that there were options through paris, but then you had to go to another station in paris. That seems a bit scary to me. So I prefer to go via Brussels.We would like to leave on 7 or 8 August and return to the Netherlands on 14 August. I'm not really sure what our best options are to buy. Hopefully someone can help with that.Does someone know what I should buy and the prices.Kind regards Carlo

Respected sir ,my uncle and cousin came from USA to travel to Europe and I am planning everything .I have booked them eurail pass .they both are currently in London and I am in germany ..As we are activating the mobile pass ..I have activated my mobile pass in my mobile ..and my uncle has on his ..now it is not possible to get mobile pass in my cousin mobile ..they are having train in 4 hours ..please help

When you purchase a paper ticket with tracking does EuRail send you a tracking number? 

Hi there! I’m having a bit of a hard time figuring out the Eurail pass!I have an account, purchased a 5-day pass, created a trip, and am now trying to reserve seats for the train. However, it says the tickets are sold out on eurail and it’s directing me to b-europe, which has seats but doesn’t allow us to book without a pass cover number (which I don’t think exists for mobile pass holders). Any ideas on how to book seat reservations and be able to chose seats? Is there a way to get a cover number for myself and my two travel companions? Thank you!

Hi! I have been trying to cancel a mobile pass I bought on the 28th March with a PLUS insurance. Every single time I get into the Page, It leads me to 404 Page error. I have tried on different devices with the same result. It is absolutely important and URGENT for me to get the refund.Please, I need HELP

I made a mistake the 1st time I used the app to reserve a train ticket. I bought the 2 months with 10 days of travel.  The ticket used 2 days of travel so i deleted that ticket and was only able to delete one of the travel days as the ticket day was the current day.  In the 1st 10 minutes of playing with the application i had permanently lost a day of travel. I have sent multiple emails to the help in the application all I get is the automated response and then later an email asking for my opinion on how well they dealt with the problem. I have yet to be at contacted by a single person I went to the train station ask for help there and was told they couldn't help me because it was a problem with the app if I had a paper ticket they could fix the problem. This is been ongoing now for a month I only have two more weeks of travel. I can only assume that they figure if they ignore me long enough the ticket will expire and they won't have to do anything. Normally I use my EU ID for activating my pass, not my passport. But for the new continuous Interrail pass I will visit also maybe some countries outside the EU. Do I need to activate the Pass with my passport or is then also the ID sufficient? Of course I have my passport with me then for border control, but I don’t like to take my passport with me when not necessary.

Hi there, I am a canadian citizen planning on taking the 2 months Eurail Global Pass. During those 2 months, I’am planning to stay at friends in Swizerland a lot, would I be able to use the Eurail pass unlimited in Switzerland during those 2 months as it will be like my main spot of travelling ?  Thanks a lot,  Justine 

We’re getting married in July, and we plan to fly to Paris (from the USA) and then take the train from Paris, to Switzerland (Geneva, Bern, Zurich), then Italy (Pisa and Rome), then to Croatia (Zaghreb), then Greece (Athens).  We plan to stay 3-5 days in each destination, and we have no idea how to go about reserving tickets.  We can’t just use the Eu Pass to ride trains, we need seperate reservations for each train, correct? And how do we secure the night cabins?  Thank you kindly.

I’m looking to travel to CZ this summer by train as its more environmentally friendly.How does the pass work? I buy pass then what?   I have to  plan my journey using rail planner. Do I have to pay for the tickets that the journey needs or everything is covered by pass?Rail planner can show very cheap journeys is that the extra I have to pay ? It could end up being a very expensive trip to buy a global pass for 4 days travel and extra tickets and seat reservations.

Hello, I’m trying to purchase the Greek Islands Interrail Pass. The thing is that I have a composed last name and it is too long (18 characters) and I can only write 17. I’ve been reading that the important thing is the last name so, what can I do? 

HI everyone, I am new in this community and I get a global pass for 30 days in promotion of the 50th anniversary of interrail, when I bought the vouchers there was information at the time that indicated that it could be used X days in the first month, and later other X days in the second month, up to a maximum of the first 3 months from the activation of the global pass. My doubt is if this is real, since a few days after acquiring the global pass and disappearing the 50th anniversary promo I have not seen that information again to try to clarify my doubts, that's why I ask the community to confirm if that exists or on the contrary, the 1-month bonus purchased with the 50th anniversary promo can only be used for 1 month from the activation of the same global pass. Thank you.

Cannot activate my pass. Similar to many others users here.Note thatuse latest version of app already turn on enable error loggin i would to travel on this friday 28 may. order number is eu30635299 and #XC62V1 if too difficult, can i simply activate manually at train station ? see error msg below. I bought a 15 days in two months mobile pass that shows up as continuous 15 days from activation as opposed to two months for use during 15 days.

Hi All,It is my first time travelling with interrail and I am planning to purchase ticket fro me and my fiancé for the travel during this december (2021) Our plan is to arrive from Ukraine to Paris and same day take a TGV to Strasbourg. ( arrival to CDG 12:10, departure from Gare de L'Est 15:00)I noticed that for all TGV you need to reserve in advance, and better to reserve early, however have to reserve no later than 3 hours before departure ( meaning 12:00 )We are a bit worried Since during covid 19 we had many plans that have changed last minute ( the airline did not allow to board, the customs did not allow to enter the country ( happened to us in Turkey when flying to USA). Hi, on interrail.eu there was a very helpful subpage (https://www.interrail.eu/de/plan-your-trip/trains-europe) where you could find a lot of information about reservation fees, how to book them and some general tips split up by country. Apparently this subpage has been removed recently? About two weeks ago it was still there but now it is nowhere to be found.  Does anyone know if the removed it completely or if they just moved it to somewhere else?

Hi, I’ve escalated some issues with Interrail but I haven’t had a response so I thought I’d try and get some answers here. One of our clients had issues with their mobile pass, their journeys weren’t showing when they had been added  and had some other tech issues which meant they were unable to use the app. We contacted interrail for support on this but because of a lack of response they were forced to buy a paper pass and consequently we want the mobile pass refunding - still no response from interrail regarding this.Another client accidentally activated a pass day, again due to lack of response from interrail he was subsequently fined even. Something we could have avoided if we had had the support we needed. In the last three months we have spent over £20K on interrail passes and would really appreciate some quick assistance.

Hi there,12 days ago, I requested an exchange, but I did not get any respond yet, nor did I get refunded the money. I do not know how to get in contact with the service, so I decided to ask for help here. How long does it usually take till the money for an exchange is paid back? I don't want to look impatient. I just don't know how long it usually takes, so I don't know what time-range to expect before having the money back.Tanks in advance!
