I am trying to book tickets from London through to Sweden - still reeling from the fact the reservation fees for a family of 4 are almost as much as the pass itself but I have a couple of questions I was hoping to get help with ... A lot of the time its giving me 9 - 10 minute train switches - is this enough? Thinking not with 2 kids but maybe the trains are more punctual in Europe?A lot of tickets say you can buy a seat reservation if you like but it's not required. Prices for this journey will start to be available 90 days before departure. It says this even though I am booking for within the next 90 days. Should I get the reservation from the national train line? Also struggling to book the Swedish sleeper from Stockholm to Hamburg on Swedish trains website - comes up blank when I search. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks for your helpAnna
I have booked a train ticket between Venezia Mestre and Wien on a direct night train. I've printed out the ticket and know the timetable. In the Rail Planner application, this journey is not listed (a train leaves at the same time, but it includes a change and does not arrive at the same time as the one indicated on my ticket). Will this pose a problem in the event of an inspection? How can I ensure that this journey appears in the application and that my pass is taken into account? Is this necessary?Sincerely
If I have 2 passes how do I add the 2nd one to the app, or do I need 2 apps
Hello travellers I've just installed my first ‘Pass’ (4 days- 1 month Not yet activated)Country of origin: Switzerland I'm surprised that the application displays : Outbound/Inbound: ‘0/3’ (I had imagined 0/2)Would this mean that we would be entitled to 3 ‘day passes’ covering our country of residence? For example: one exit + one entry + one 2nd exit?I have to admit that, if that were the case, it would be very useful financially... because, even with the half-price season ticket, crossing half of my country is frankly not cheap ;) Thanks for your insights ;) François. Hey, How long does it take until I am accepted into the "find a travel buddy" group after I submit my request?
I Love Travel. My Wife and I went Interrailing when we were 25, we only found out about it just before the benefit of being a YOUTH ran out. Rucksacks, tents. Now we would like to hit BOTH Denmark, Billund and Germany, Günzburg Legoland to take our 18 year old son to BOTH places and visit the factories ( which I am reliably informed is a thing now ).HERES THE QUESTION.I am trying to use the planner.I Live near Southampton (UK), and want to travel by train to Billund ( Yes - that IS a Long trip ), stay a couple of days, and then travel down to Germany, and possibly vists a couple of other places while we are there. Then travel back to SouthamptonI Would LIKE to use the train - since at least I will get a break from Driving for a change. How do I go about “Starting in Southampton”Do I choose this as a destination first? How do I ad. a Starting point - I am confused ( a tiny bit ).I was thinking that the 5 day Global pass might just about do it - with the two days from UK , leaving 3 days i
Hello,I am planning a trip to Europe in September 2024. I have a 2 month 15 day pass. I am trying to figure out how to put my 1st travel day in. ( I know it’s best not to obtain the QR code now). I’m just want to see the steps I have made a travel day plan and saved it my eurail pass is activated The train times I need appear But I do not see how to attach it to my Pass I do not get to the “toggle switch” to choice the exact trains do I need to practice and choose “a travel day” If so Can I delete this travel day after I practice my trains do not require a seat reservation
It’s now May and I’m checking the app for trains between Copenhagen and Stockholm for September and can’t see any, but train.ninja is showing lots.Do I conclude that there are no train journeys on which I can use my railcard, or does this mean the app hasn’t updated with train times for this far in the future? Thanks
Hi everyone.Anyone travelling from 15 of August in North europe??
This is a very basic question, but I have bought my Interrail pass and have the app - I’ve built my journey in there and ‘linked’ the pass. Then I can make my reservations through any provider like Rail Europe and it will all work together? I can’t see a way to add my reservation to the app… does that matter?I’m not travelling til 24 July so have some time - but I do want to make some specific journeys on certain days so want to reserve now. Many thanks for your time.
I am considering buying an Interrail pass but I have a specific journey planned out. Is it possible to know whether there are pass holder seats left on specific journeys before I buy the Interrail pass? I am thinking specifically about Eurostar London to Paris, but also Paris to Munich, and Grenoble to Paris. If it’s not possible to know that before paying for the pass - I think that you can only get 85% back on unused passes, have I read that correctly? Thank you for your help!
I am writing this message on May 12. We have European trip scheduled to begin August 21. We prefer global paper passes to digital passes. How long does it take to receive a paper pass in the eastern USA? If it doesn’t arrive in time, can we exchange paper pass for global digital pass? Under this exchange scenario, please briefly describe the process/conditions. Thank you.
Hi!! im from South London and would love to meet some people who are nearby to go travelling with :) of course we’d meet first at figure out the vibe but id love to go to Greece (Athens) for scuba diving and the general history :D I have 2 weeks off in March 2025 that I need to use and would love to spend it interrailing
HelloI can see the following train journey on the Rail Europe website:TGV #987009:01 Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport TGV Sat 14 Sep 11:05 to StrasbourgTGV INOUI #989812:31 Strasbourg 14:04 Bettembourg Autocar #6841314:19 Bettembourg 14:48 LuxembourgYet it isn’t shown on the Eurail PlannerI haven’t bought my Eurail pass yet as trip isn’t planned to start until mid September 2024I believe that INOUI journeys don’t ‘qualify’ for the Eurail Pass? How can I reserve this train journey? All advice appreciatedThanks
Can I travel with and without a kids with my train 2 months train pass (which already fill to travel with 2 kids)
Hello. We will take the 1st class Glazier Express to Zermatt from Chur. We realise that there is a menu on board - is taking your own wine and food frowned upon or accepted? Thank you.
I'm looking to book a trip from Paris through to Switzerland in late July. It looks like the most direct option with the least changes is Paris to Lausanne. However, when I go to book via the Eurail site it says that there are no seats available. No Eurail options are available for this timeframe on Rail Europe either.I've looked through other options on the day, and no TGV options are bookable while one INOUI option is. The same seems to be the case for the surrounding days. If I try and book earlier in the year, options are available for most tickets up until the end of June. Is there an earliest possible booking timeframe that I should be aware of? Looking online, some sources say up to two months in advance and that reservations are not limited for TGV Lyria, while others say three. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi there,My partner and I are planning to train from Milan to Grindelwald on Wednesday 31st July.I see we need to take a bus from Milano Centrale to Domodossola and it’s saying “seat reservations required” however it isn’t showing an option to purchase a seat. Does anyone know what we need to do for this? I have attached a screenshot of this below:Then we will take the train from Domodossola to Spiez, Spiez to Interlaken OST and Interlaken OST to Grindelwald. It says “You’re ready to board” for these segments, so we are unable to book a seat reservation for these. I’m worried that not confirming a seat reservation could mean we aren’t guaranteed a seat on these trains. Do we need to do anything else for these trains to help ensure we can catch them? Thanks for your help.Katelyn
Hi,We are a family of 6 - (2 adults, 2 teenagers, a 3 years old and 8 years old). We are planning to visit the following countries:Bulgaria (Sofia), Italy (Milan), Spain (Barcelona), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Belgium (Brussels), UK (London). We are thinking of buying the 4/5 days Global Pass and would consider flying to 1 or 2 of these destinations. My question is, what would be the easiest route with the least number of train changes. Thank you.
I know in France, Italy, and Spain you pay 8-13 eu to make a reservation on a high speed train with a Eurail pass. But the last time I used Eurostar some years ago, it seemed like I was paying half or 2/3 of full fare even with the pass. I want to travel from London to Brussels. I also know that the fares differ at different times of day. Can someone tell me how it works please? Thanks.
Hi, I’m planning to travel from Zurich to Milan. I will arrive to the station at 17:58 and the next train available to Milan leaves at 18:33. 30 minutes are enough to get to that train or do I need more time? Thanks in advance!
It is my first time using eurail. I will be traveling with my wife and three children: 2, 4, and 6 years old.I will be traveling from Paris to Biarritz. I want to take the fast train that takes about four hours. Can somebody tell me how much the additional charge will be to book this trip when I make the reservation? Also, what happens if I miss my train for some reason. Can I use the ticket for the same trip the following day or something like that? Thanks so much!
Hi there. What service would people recommend for left luggage at Paris Gare du Nord. On Sunday 2nd June we’ll have 3-4 hours before our Eurostar departure so it would be nice to have some lunch in Paris and be bag free, especially if it’s hot! Many thanks.
Hi, allI can’t take my today’s train from Bruxelles Midi to Paris CDG due to some personal circumstances. I’m in Belgium right now, I tried to cancel/refund by phone call but the instructions are unclear. I hold 2nd class pass and I paid for it to be refundable. Replies and advices are appreciated.
