Get ready to travel

Hello wonderful people,I’ve just recently purchased the Global Pass for travel in January 2024. Due to info online that says that that is peak season, I wanted to make some seat reservations to ensure I have a seat. However I can’t seem to make those reservation on the Eurail Rail Planner app even though I can see trains available on the Eurail website. Further reading says I can make seat reservations with the train company so the first train I’m catching is Eurostar from AMSTERDAM CENTRAAL (NETHERLANDS) to BRUSSEL-ZUID (BELGIUM)I have created an account with Eurostar and when I’ve selected the train that I want, where do I put my Global pass details? Thanks! Eurai

I am wanting to book a Nightjet train from Salzburg to Venice on December 26th. These don’t seem to be on sale yet - when should they be available to purchase

We are starting our Journey in Vienna on 22nd Dec , leaving Vienna on the 26th travelling to Salzburg on 26th then to Zurich on 28th , then to Paris on 29th, Can we reserve seats and do we use the same train all the way through?  If you could advise which train we should book on.  It would appear the timetable is still not available on the eurail website. Im planing on making a trip to various countries in january. When i search for the times of the trains on the rail planner app only trains until december 9th appear. Is there a specific date when the train times for december 10th and after (specifically january) will be realeased?Thanks.

I think it very confusing.Pass validity for me means the period i want to travel.F.i. i want to travel in the month november. I activated my pass starting 1st november, why not?My first travel day will be 10th. off november. But the app takes a travel day before i used any. Why is that? All answers talk about deactivating the pass. Why should i deactivate? I just want it not to take traveldays Before the day is there!!I think it is rather confusing, and costly.How can we adjust this?

I am planning a travel from Denmark to the Pyrenees, where I will be hiking. That means I will bring some camping equipment with me. This includes items that are not allowed on Eurostar trains.But since Eurostar is faster than most other trains it will often show up when I search for the part of the journey that goes between Germany and Paris.Are there any train route planners where it is possible to exclude Eurostar trains? On Bahn.de I can exclude high speed train. But that will also exclude trains like ICE and TGV. Palle Dam, Denmark

Hi all! I’m trying to book seat reservations on IC 1073 (Bern - Interlaken) for mid-December 2023 and haven’t had any luck on the Eurail website or the www.cd.cz website which Eurail recommends as an alternative to book seat reservations. Getting the following error on Eurail website:“Prices unavailableNo price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.” The other website also comes with this error:“Internal system error (103)” Does anyone have any idea or may have encountered this problem? Could it just be that they haven’t made the seat reservations available yet for the trains? Any help is appreciated! Thank you :) 

My interrail france german pass is expired without any activation.I created an account in September and also created my trip but I didn‘t actived my pass yet. I wanted to travel in November and right now, I wanted to book my trip but the rail planner app says that my pass has been expired?? I neither used nor actived it.Did anybody experienced something similar?Or does anybody has a support hotline where I can get help for reactivating my pass?Thanks! 

Is it possible to make a reservation for an overnight sleeper train from Zurich, Switzerland to Prague, Czech Republic on December 14th?   Can I make a reservation for an overnight train from Wien to Venezia using the Eurail Global Pass?       

Hello, I would be interested in knowing how much a berth costs on the night interrail? I say this because it says that a bunk bed is in a 4-seater compartment: it is €41, and I don't know if that is a bunk bed or 4 bunk beds.Besides, it says that with the reservation of the first class seat you get a bunk, and I don't know if that's the case, why then for €5 do I get a bunk for myself?

Just a few questions for an upcoming trip with a couple of kids…what’s the difference between when a trip says “you’re ready to board” and “you’re ready to board. You can purchase a reservation if you’d like”? we have a few trips with train changes. I’d like to add the whole trip to my eurail app. Is there a way to do that or do I have to pull up each trip individually? I’ve purchased reservations for the ones required, but they don’t show up in “my trip” for some reason. They are under ‘my reservations” is there a place to see what terminals the tickets are associated with? I’ll be with two little kids and some of these transfers are quick. I don’t think we’re going to use all the days I purchased the pass for. Is there a way to downgrade without affecting my reservations?Thanks!

Hello!I live in Switzerland and we'll be travelling in France for a few days. I would like to come back to Switzerland via Geneva, taking a train from Lyon to Geneva, operated by SNCF. The Geneva train station includes official french borders within the train station.Can I use a one-country France pass for my trip or should I buy a Global pass? Many thanks for your help, and safe travels!

Is there a way to contact (call/mail) the customer service without having a twitter or facebook account?

No Seat Reservation required? this is the most common thing i saw whilst i trying to reserve my seat from london to Oxford, from London to Bristol and Bath and from Interlaken to geneve. Hence is it mean that, i not need to reserve the seat but i am allow to board the train ? 

can I use a global pass to travel around the UK if I live in the UK, but want to go on a rail tour?

We are travelling from Wolverhampton to Berlin in September and want to know if we will be able to use our passes to travel to London Euston from Wolverhampton before joining the Eurostar at St Pancras. We have already reserved our seats on the Eurostar.I have called National rail enquiries and they said you cannot use the global pass in your country of residence?Andy

Hello.  I see there are lots of people asking about seat reservations, although most are travelling in continental Europe.  I recently completed an 8-day First Class UK-only Interrail trip and I’d like to share my experiences.  Basically, in the UK, despite what the app. says you DO NOT need seat reservations for most trains, even long-distance expresses, apart for the exceptions I’ll list below.  There seems to be some inconsistency within the app/website itself where the Rail Planner says reservations ARE ‘required’ for just about everything but local trains and yet the help section says they are merely ‘recommended’.  I see that as a cash-grab by Interrail - trying to sell those reservations at 6 Euro a shot through their own portal. The exceptions are:Eurostar (obviously).The two overnight sleeper services to/from London (GWR to Penzance and Caledonian Sleeper to Scotland) where seat reservations are mandatory, even in the seated coaches

Hello everyone, I am a student in Germany and my parents are going to visit me in Germany and some family in UK. They also want to visit Paris and maybe Switzerland.  This is a temporary itinerary They are coming from India and they arrive and depart in UK.  Day 1: Travel from London to Paris (via Eurostar)Day 2: Travel from Paris to StuttgartDay 4: Visit to Switzerland Day 7: Travel back to London (Stuttgart to Paris to London) It is  a short trip, but i have some questions. Is Eurostar covered under the Global pass? Are regional (undergroudn and metro in Germany) trains covered under this? can they travel inside the city without taking another city ticket?  As a student in Germany, can I also use the EU rail pass?  If someone knows the answers to this, please help me out. Hello community, just one question. Is it possible to board a train that requires a seat reservation even without a reservation? The latter secures a seat or bed, but I would be fine with standing. is it possible to even just stand on the train, or do they really not let me on if I haven't made a reservation? Thank you!

The validity of my pass starts on 9 June and runs till 8 Jul, I have not used it yet.  However it shows Travel days 3 / 4 left. How does it see I have travelled already ?  I also have not activated it yet.

Un train INOUI qui m’avait couté 22€ avec la taxe. J’ai donc repris via Interrail un train qui m’a lui aussi coûté 22€. Je souhaite me faire rembourser de mon premier train Nice-Paris.
