Hello My name is Bob and I need to find out about using my eurail 1st class pass on boat trips from Lucerne to Vitznau.       I want to avail of the 50% discount and need to know if I can travel 1st class on the boat using my eurail pass in this way.   I will NOT be activating the pass on the day of travel so as NOT TO use this day as a travel day.Thank you,  Bob

Hello, I am trying to book a private two bed-compartment on the Istria Express train on 29.06.2024 at 21:00 from Budapest to Ljubljana on https://jegy.mav.hu/, using my Interrail Global Pass. When I tried to book, the price was for the whole ticket which I thought was strange considering I entered that I had a rail pass. I contacted MÁV-START and they said: "Unfortunately, the supplementary placement reservation with EuRail/InterRail Pass currently does not work for that international route, so you are not able to buy it from the MÁV-START's online purchase system. You can only buy it in person at any international ticket office (where you have to show your EuRail /InterRail pass)." Is in-person at Budapest station the only way that I can book this train? Hello. We have been using the EURAIL pass for the past month and have enjoyed the experience immensely. I have used this forum many times and have found the advice and feedback to be outstanding. The EURAIL community is exceptional. I now seek some advice regarding a day tour in Beaune. We will travel from Annecy to Paris via Beaune. Hello,I am new to Eurail, first time travelling to Europe with my family. We got a pass and we have obtained seat reservations for all the trains that require them on our upcoming trips. However, there is one trip for which we are looking into getting the optional seat reservations: the Centovalli train between Locarno and Domodossola. We are planning on taking a Vigezzo Vision train on that route, which we understand has a surchage that can be paid on board. This train also does not allow you to travel unless you find a seat, which means it may be useful to get a reservation on busy seasons. Since we will be travelling on July 12, we were trying to get a reservation online, which I understand would also allow us to pay the surchage online as well. Hi all, I will do an Interrail trip in the middle of june and i have difficulties to finish my itinerary... I will take a 7 days Global pass. I want to do Germany, Czech republic, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia but i can't decide myself for arrange the order of destinations...  For the return trip to France I do not know in which city I stop a few days then return to Montpellier without having a too long trip... What are your suggestions? Did someone know what are the cheapest cities in central Europe?  The prices of hostels seem quite high, which also pushes me to review my itinerary I know that my question is a bit broad but i'm a bit lost 😅Thanks in advance 😊

I need to return my paper pass as soon as possible.The return label that came with the paper pass has the address:Eurail. B.V., Int. Business Return Service, I.B.R.S./C.C.R.I. No.7, 3500 ZA Utrecht (NL).Can I know if this is the correct address to send the paper pass to?Also, I would like to know if the return label guarantees delivery, as I am sending the pass from the United States. If the return label cannot guarantee delivery, can I use DHL or FedEx to send it to the above address?This is the return label that I have received:I have already sent this question to customer service a couple of days ago, but I have yet to receive a response. Hello,I would like to book a train in Germany (DB ICE) through the DB website and not through the Interrail website. If I understand correctly, I just need to check "Book seat only," search for the desired route, and reserve my seat. Then, in case of inspection, I show my Interrail pass and my seat reservation. So I’m planning a 3 day trip, 3 persons, in July through Inverness, Aberdeen, Edimburgh, Fort William and Glasgow.The Interrail app says the reservation is optional, and I read somewhere that U.K. trains rarely get full.So I’m well in going without seat reservations?

Some time ago, I booked the following connection for tomorrow evening (June 4th) on international-bahn.de:Frankfurt Hbf 19:49 (ICE 693)Augsburg Hbf 22:40Augsburg Hbf 23:02 (NJ 237)Venezia Santa Lucia  08:34Now it turns out that ICE 693 from Frankfurt to Augsburg is canceled already. I could probably take a different train to Stuttgart instead and board the Nightjet there. However, for today (June 3rd), it is indicated that the Nightjet will only start in Salzburg. For tomorrow, there is no information yet, but of course, I wonder if it could still be the case then.So I have 2 questions:- Is there any reliable information on the status of NJ 237 tomorrow?- If it turns out that the NJ is canceled (at least in Germany - I probably can't get to Salzburg), do I have the right to take another connection to Venice with my ticket the following day (June 5th)? The Interrail website and app both say it exists but I cannot book tickets through them. Other websites say otherwise. Does it exist? Has anyone got it? Do I need to book in advance? If so where from?Thanks!

The planner on the app doesn’t have any Greek trains as far as I can see - where’s the best place to see the timetable, and are reservations needed for any Greek trains?  also, are there replacement buses over the Greek-North Macedonia border?

Hello, i am travelling through Spain, France and Italy in August and i bought a 7 days pass. In Total we are driving 8 times with a train, so i need to book one Trip normally without the Pass in cash or by card. So how do i book this one trip and can i just do it in between my pass? For example the 3rd trip by train from Malaga to Granada is the one i book without my Pass because it is the cheapest. How do i handle this correctly? Should i just create my Interrail Trip on the Planner app withouth Malaga?

Hi, is there any way to add the interrail discount on the nightjet site when using an iPhone or an iPad? The discount list just disappears when you click it. I have tried with several browsers. I know it works on a PC but I won’t have a pc when travelling.  

Hi, we paid for seat reservations a few weeks ago via the website rather than the app. Today we activated our passes via the app, but we cannot see our seat reservations on the app, only on the website. 

In July I am taking a day trip from London to Stratford-Upon-Avon. Someone in this community told me to get a train out of Marylebone station instead of Euston. That helped. Now I am looking at times. The time I wanted to go was 8:07am arriving at 10:13 with a stop in either Dorridge or Warwick (I found same train with these two different train changes. Maybe they haven't figured out which one yet). However, there is only a 10 minute train transfer time. I don't know the size of these train stations. Is that cutting it too close? I won't have luggage since its just a day trip. any suggestions?

I need to travel from Geneva to Venice with my family of 5 on July 23rd. I cannot figure out a way to use our Eurail Global Passes for this. When I try to book through Eurail, it says that reservations are required (I think for bus tickets, maybe?) but doesn’t seem to give me an option to reserve anything. Suggestions?

Train from Amsterdam to Osnabrück: I am planning to take the IC 143 from Amsterdam Centraal to Osnabrück Hbf, which requires a seat reservation, which I want to make via bahn.de. However, no matter which date I select, the system always indicates that the train cannot be reserved at the moment. This issue also applies to the return journey. The strange thing is that if I book a ticket for the journey (not just a seat reservation as I am trying now), I can reserve a seat without any problem. These night train reservations can only be made in person, so they sell out easily? Could I reserve a sleeper or couchette on the day, or do I need to be lucky? is it the same both ways, or different? also, I heard you have to get off the train at the border - is this true for the sleeper also? Do you change beds or something?

I have printed off my tickets, just as backup, in case I can't bring them up on my phone, on the day.When I go back into Railplanner, and bring up the tickets again, they are a different barcode.Does it matter?

I know that trains go on sale 30 days before, but what time of day? Exactly 30 days to the minute before departure or at midnight, or something else? I want to try and book a couchette on the Erzincan-Ankara Doug Express and they sell out in a few minutes so I need to be online the second they go on sale.thanks!

I am trying to book from Narvik to Stockholm on train 93 (the direct train) on Sunday September 1. I understand the vy are having some problems with booking on this train, however what is most concerning is that there are no trains listed (either the direct, or the change at Boden) on Sunday September 1 or Monday September 2. I can see trains on other days before and after those days, but not on the day we wish to travel.  We could travel on the the Saturday but although train 95 is scheduled, there’s no 93. And I defintely don’t want to arrive at Stockholm at 06:27 or whatever.Is this likely to be related to planned works? We were planning to go by train to Bodø, and then bus to Narvik, but I am not interested in the bus trip if all we do at the end is fly back to Oslo. And then I wonder about whether it is worth even going to Bodø?  Maybe return from Trondheim to Oslo via Røros.But there’s no point panicking if this train will appear on the schedules...

Hi everyone :)I've been to plovdiv's train station office to buy a reservation for the Sofia Istanbul express night train (which stops in plovdiv) but there they told me they couldn't sell reservations because of an informatic issue in there system.From what I've read online and especially on this forum, there is no way of getting a reservation online. If you know otherwise I'd love to know!What they seem to tell me to do is to get on the train and buy a reservation on board. At least that's what I understood because I don't speak bulgarian and they didn't really speak English.That makes me a little worried to do so, especially in the case where there's no more available couchettes on the train. So I was wondering if anyone had already done this, or if you could think of any another way to get a reservation  Thanks in advance!Sohel
